Amazing game. The graphics are insane on the PS5 and the storyline is so engaging. Worth it. If you liked Resident Evil 4 this is the game for you. The mix between survival and horror is seamless.

Another excellent horror experience from Capcom. The sequel for RE7 is every bit as entertaining and terrifying. Capcom is on a roll and this game cements modern Resident Evil as one of my favorites.

The Most Resident Evil of All The Resident Evils!

I've been a pretty hardcore fan since RE1 on PSX back in 1996. The franchise fell from grace with RE 5 and RE 6, but RE 7 brought this dead franchise back to life. I love RE: Village. This is the most Resident Evil of all Resident Evil games in the franchise. THE BAD: Biggest complaint is the performance takes a bit of a dive on PS5 with Ray Tracing enabled. When RT is enabled, the frame rate struggles to stay at a solid 60 fps. Frame rate takes a pretty big dive nose dive when water is present. This is most noticeable in ACT III. RT isn't worth the performance hit on PS5. THE GOOD: Since this Village is a direct sequel to RE7, I will use the two games to compare to each other. I've heard many people say that this isn't as scary as RE7 tonally, but I'd argue that when played with good headphones and on hardcore for the first time that this game is scarier. Village's tone is arguably weirder and more fun. RE7 had a lot of shocking and gross elements that it borrowed from popular western developed horror games (e.g., Outlast, Alien Isolation, Amnesia). Skippable cutscenes. Period. If you've played RE7 more than once, you'll know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Village allows you to skip each cutscene. Regardless of whether or not you already completed RE7, there was a total of 1 skippable cutscene the entire game. Every single animation had to be long and dragged out...So for that I commend Capcom for allowing us to skip cutscenes this time around in RE8. Village is better on all fronts. Gunplay faster has tighter mechanics and animations. The camera sensitivity for the right analog stick has been overhauled from RE7, allowing for more granular customization. Albeit the B-movie campiness, the storyline and acting is objectively better. Come on. Big Mommy. Need I say more? Ethan's story and personality is more fleshed out. Village is the spiritual successor to RE4 which is evident in the location that it takes place, as well as in the implementation of the inventory and currency system. RE7 raised the bar for the franchise back in 2017, but Village surpasses it in every way for me. It's a masterpiece that falls a little short of RE2: Remake's god-like status, but it's still a masterpiece nonetheless.

It is a dark and gore game but I like it. It's played in first person so it is a little different from old resident evil games. Good story, good difficulty, good graphics.

Such a great Resident evil title, so happy Capcom decided to keep things in the fps horror format. It makes for a sense of true fear. This is a great game to pick up.

Resident Evil is back and better than ever. Follows the style of RE7 with elements of RE4. Definitely, a game that should not be missed (especially if you own a PS5/Xbox Series X.)

Great graphics but easy to play it on standard... Not too difficult to pass through main villains.. Easy and unfortunately very short comparing to other RE games

Very realistic and scary. The whole Village setting was fun to explore with the mansion giving me RE 2 vibes at the Police station. The ending took a turn I wasn’t expecting

Honestly a good game, visuals were amazing for ps5 edition. Good story line and good fighting but it was way too short in my opinion. Not sure how long games have been in the past but this one seemed too linear, walk in to the boss’ area then fight him boom next. My girlfriend and I very much enjoyed it however. I’m sure you will to!

I really enjoyed this game, maybe my favorite in the series that i've played. More action than horror, and maybe a little short for a $60 game but it's a lot of fun.
