I bought this to finally get rid of the annoying cables in my car, and it works perfectly.
The Pros:
• Super Fast: It connects to my phone automatically by the time I back out of my driveway.
• Easy Setup: Took about 60 seconds to pair it the first time.
• Small: It’s tiny and hides away easily in the console.
• Reliable: No random disconnects or freezing so far.
The Cons:
• There is a tiny (1-second) lag when skipping songs, but that’s normal for wireless.
Final Verdict: If you’re tired of plugging your phone in every time you get in the car, just get this. It makes life much easier!

I’ve been using the Rexing CPW-42 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter, and it’s been a game changer for my daily driving. Setup was quick and straightforward — I plugged it in, paired my phone, and it connected within minutes. Now my CarPlay starts up automatically every time I get in the car, without needing to mess with cables.
The connection has been stable with smooth audio and minimal lag, even when streaming music or using navigation. I like that it works with both iPhone and Android, so it’s versatile if we switch between phones in the household. The compact design is a plus too — it’s not bulky and tucks away neatly.
Overall, it delivers exactly what I wanted: convenience, reliability, and a more seamless driving experience. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re tired of plugging in your phone every time you get behind the wheel

I recently purchased the Rexing CPW-42 for my Kia Stinger and couldn’t be happier with it.
From the start, the unit came very well packaged with everything you need to get your phone connected right away. The included accessories and clear instructions make it feel like Rexing thought of everything.
The setup was intuitive and quick, thanks to the well-written user manual that guided me through each step without any confusion. Within minutes, I was up and running.
The connection speed is impressive—it pairs with my phone almost instantly and the experience is completely seamless. No lag, no dropped connections, just smooth operation every time.
Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend the CPW-42 to anyone looking for a reliable Android Auto/Apple car play wireless adapter.

The Rexing CPW‑42 is a plug-and-play adapter that upgrades cars with wired CarPlay or Android Auto to support wireless connections. Setup is fast—just plug it into your car’s USB port, pair your phone via Bluetooth, and it seamlessly connects via 5 GHz Wi‑Fi every time you start your vehicle.
A key highlight is its ability to enable wireless Android Auto in vehicles that don’t support it natively, offering a cleaner, more convenient experience without cables. Performance is smooth, with minimal lag during navigation, media playback, and voice commands.
Pros:
Easy, fast setup
Reliable wireless connection
Enables wireless Android Auto on unsupported systems
Compact, no permanent installation needed
Things to Note:
Your phone won’t charge unless used with a wireless charger
Occasional reconnection may be needed in rare cases
Requires a vehicle with wired CarPlay or Android Auto support
Verdict:
The CPW‑42 is a simple, effective way to modernize your car's infotainment system. If you want wireless Android Auto or CarPlay without changing your head unit, this adapter is a great value.

I recently got this and have been using it for the last 3 weeks. I previously had the Rexing CPW-2.
This one is an improvement over the CPW-2 in that it is much smaller and directly plugs into the USB port of my truck, so no wires to deal with.
It's easy to install and connect.
I'll cut to the chase and say the only annoying thing about it is the same thing I didn't like about the CPW-2, and that's the lag between the phone output and the car speaker output. There's still about a 0.5-1sec lag.
This lag is definitely noticeable when watching videos on the phone (audio lags actions like lips moving, etc). It seems possibly noticeable during conversations on phone calls, but hard to tell.
It's not noticeable when using it for any other purpose.
Just something to consider if you are interested in converting from wired to wireless CarPlay.

1. Setup/Installation : Simple as it should be. Straightforward, plug the CPW-42 into your car’s USB, pair over Bluetooth, and it switches to Wi-Fi for data. Takes a couple minutes, then it auto-connects every time you hop in—perfect for nav, streaming, and voice commands. Dual-band Wi-Fi keeps lag low and the connection steady, so maps, calls, and music run smoothly with fast app switching.
2. Design: Small, no cable connection, lightweight. It no long cable connection is a huge plus. Also, the light indicate of working is facedown, less distractive while driving at night.
3. Connection: Once it’s paired, the CPW-42 feels just like wired—only wireless. You get nav, messages, calls, and streaming without plugging in, and Siri/Google Assistant stay snappy for hands-free control. It auto-reconnects whenever you start the car, so it’s super low-effort.

I have another Rexing product for my vehicle that works great so I decided to try this wireless carplay product by Rexing. My vehicle supports wired carplay but not wireless natively, so this adapter is necessary. Setup was very easy (instructions in the box) as it is plug and play, then connect with your phone. Every time you start your vehicle, it will automatically connect and you'll have wireless carplay. Very much worth the price and highly recommend!

I purchased this product as I have used several Rexing products before, such as their dashcams and have had nothing but positive experiences with their products.
I have been looking for a wireless CarPlay adapter for my vehicle for months and gave up as I couldn’t find one that was as minimal and compact from a brand I trust. Found out Rexing came out with one and purchased it almost immediately.
Set up was extremely easy! It’s about as “plug and play” as you can get from a product in 2025. While there is a little bit of latency, this is the result of how wireless capabilities work and is not detrimental to the efficiency of the product and after a day, you don’t even notice it.
I primarily purchased this product because I hate having to take my phone out of my pocket and plug it in and have an issue where it doesn’t always read the phone, so needing to unplug and replug it again is just inconvenient. On top of that, the phone being used for maps and music while charging renders the phone hot, especially with the heater on during the winter months and it just got annoying dealing with that.
Highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a wireless CarPlay adapter from a trusted brand!

This product is great. Intuitive set up, did not even need to read the instructions. Just plug in and start using with your phone's bluetooth and wifi. Not having to plug into a cord every time you start your car to me is very worth the price! All apple car play functions have worked seamlessly.

After several years and various products, I finally found one that works with no lag in my 2019 Honda Odyssey. The cord works fine, but sometimes the kids want the phone in the back and it doesn't reach. Or when I make a quick stop, I have to unplug the phone. And there is no where to put the phone, so when it is plugged in it just has to sit on the console and regularly falls off.
I have tried several wireless car play adapters, and some didn't work at all, some worked intermittently, and any one that did work had a major lag. Several just showed Linux screens. The one I did find that worked for a while lagged, and stopped working after a few weeks.
The Rexing CPW-42 Wireless CarPlay adapter finally works. I can come and go and pass the phone around and it stays connected. It also has almost no lag, which makes phone calls so much better. After 5 years, I can finally go wireless!

I've only had Android Auto with two cars and one brand of phone - Hyundais and Ssmsung phones. Both cars and mutliple phones would occasionally disconnect and reconnect a few times before settling down. New cables mad no difference. Figured I'd give wireless a try.
Haven't had a single disconnect since using it. However everything isn't peachy, but it's not a fault of the adapter.
Since you're connecting wirelessly, expect to drain the battery. Mine drains about 8% per hour. Not bad, except that if I'm on a long drive I can't charge while casting because the Fold overheats and stops charging. Not Rexing's problem, but something to keep in mind when buying one. I don't know how a flat phone fares, but it could possibly do better with heat dissipation. My fat phone can't even use the wireless charger in my car without overheating.
So, trade off is stable connection but a 8%/hour drain. I'd say 90% of the time, the drain isn't worth worrying about but keep a cable nearby in case you need to swap back to wired.

Huge improvement over the previous generation CarPlay unit that Rexing made, IMHO. I had been using their previous unit, and while it was great, I hated that it wasn't a dongle and instead was a corded unit that took up a lot of space in my center console.
I now understand that all wireless CarPlay has a slight delay in skipping songs, it's the nature of how CarPlay works.
What I love? Connection feels somehow faster than the previous model. Once paired initially, it connects every single time, super quickly. Barely has time to show the splash screen of the "connect to pair" before CarPlay fires up and runs like a champ.
Maps work wonderfully, and its great because in PA they just made a new law that says even at a red light you can't have a phone in your hand, so I either keep my phone in my pocket, or throw it in the glovebox, and away I go!
Overall, the size is perfect, takes up almost zero real-estate, and has allowed me to more seamlessly listen to music and navigate without having to mess around with all of the cords in all of our FCA vehicles (We have a Challenger, Grand Cherokee, and Chrysler 300)

Hello. This is my honest review about the CarPlay adapter from Rexing. Little background: I have Honda Civic with CarPlay feature. I got this car new and I have been driving it for the past 10 years. It is a great car, but recently when I try to connect my cell to the car, CarPlay started to kick me out. I tied buying a new cable, but that was not it. I think my cell phone port is worn out. So I was debating whether to upgrade my cell or get something to fix the issue. After researching online and asking friends, I came across of Rexing Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto. I already have multiple Rexing products and it was an easy decision for me. It was at a good priced point (20X cheaper than buying a new cell phone) and I also can reply on amazing customer support with Rexing. I have been using this Bluetooth connected CarPlay for a few days now and it is great and functions as intended! It is small and black and very convenient to use. No more frustrating disconnections. If you have an issue like me, please, get this and your problem will be solved. I hope this review will help someone. Thanks

Bought for my daughters VW Jetta as her new phone will not stay connected to factory carplay and this adaptor solved all issues and has worked great so far and she is very happy now that she can use carplay again. Had to reset one time so far and has not had any issues again. No lag and connects everytime she gets in her car.

We got the Rexing CPW-42 for my wife’s 2018 Honda Odyssey, and she absolutely loves it.
Setup was quick and painless—just plug into the USB port and follow the pairing instructions. Within minutes, her iPhone connected automatically, and now she never has to mess with cable again.
CarPlay loads fast and runs smoothly, and she can jump straight into navigation, music, and messages without fumbling with cords while juggling the kids.
It’s a small upgrade that makes a huge difference in daily driving.
Highly recommended!

Works WONDERS For Indian M/C CarPlay issues!!!

I have a 2025 Indian Pursuit motorcycle and have had nothing but problems with the integrated Apple Car Play (ACP) on the Indian/Polaris Ride Command (RC) system. When hard-wired, ACP is completely unusable with constant crashes, loss of audio output when a stream is interrupted by any other audio feed (like navigation prompts or other notifications) and random head unit reboots. There have been a lot of people talking about different wireless ACP solutions giving them relief so I started trying different options.
The first two ACP adapters I tried ('Big A' purchases) were both improvements over the hard wired experience but they were still very glitchy and unreliable.
Then I found the Rexing CPW-42!! This has BEEN A TOTAL GAME CHANGER!!!
This one little device has SOLVED ALMOST ALL of the Polaris/Indian RC problems!!
Installation was quick and easy. Remove from box, plug it in, power on, connect the phone to the dongle via Blue Tooth (BT), and done. It took about 3 minutes in the parking lot of Best Buy. This uses both BT and wireless connectivity to the phone, so both must be enabled, but all the config is automatic. My iPhone 16Pro Max connected right away with no complications.
Connectivity has proven to be very good overall so long as the phone is within a foot or two of the adapter. It works flawlessly in my jacket pocket or when in a fairing pocket. I tried putting my phone in the bike's trunk (4-5ft from the receiver...) and started experiencing 'network connectivity issues' so they need to be very close together for optimum results. The other models I've tried had problems when actually touching the phone, so this is a MASSIVE improvement.
ACP response is quick and smooth. All ACP functions operate with no problems. All ACP apps I've tried have work properly. Streaming is smooth with very few, occasional glitches. (99% perfect) Only problem is the RC head unit will not properly send phone call audio to a BT connected (Cardo) helmet headset. I have tried with the Cardo and another cheap-o BT with no success.
Something else - some people are reporting they are using Android Auto (AA) with the Ride Command system. AA is NOT compatible with RC and will not work - even with this adapter. I tried. The phone will connect to the Rexing but no data will display on the RC screen. I believe those users are actually using AA on their phone and then BT streaming to the bike - which does work well. But AA does not integrate or display on the RC system.
If you have a Polaris/Indian Ride Command system and long to use ACP without problems, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND giving this unit a try!!
