Are we there yet? Not quite!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Experience has taught me that Rexing makes good products, and this one paired with my phone within minutes. It was compact and took up almost no space below my dash. It worked fine the first couple of times I paired it, but then a screen would appear advising me to pair the device when it had already been paired. I forgot the device in my Bluetooth settings, and then re-paired. Car Play connected once but with the next connection, it was back to the advisory screen. This recurred several times, and I have decided to return the item. The instructions do not tell you what to do when this problem continues and you go through the steps to re-connect, reaching the same result. I don't think my device was defective. When you don't have factory wireless support on your car, aftermarket products have to be designed to work with many different vehicles and phones. I am guessing that either a firmware update or a network reset on my iPhone, or both, would probably fix the connection issue, but I am not inclined to go there. I am swearing off the wireless connections and sticking to a short cable for a wired connection to my phone. It always works.

Very low latency adapter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a big fan of Rexing, and so glad that they have this carplay adaptor produced. Have used it for two weeks on my Toyota. The latency is inevitable but very little so that you can barely notice it if you don't pay much attention on that. I am happy with it.

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Rexing wireless CarPlay adapter works very well and was very easy to set up. It connected quickly to my iPhone and now CarPlay starts automatically every time I start the car. The connection is stable, fast, and smooth without noticeable lag. Audio quality and navigation work perfectly, and the compact size makes it easy to keep hidden in the car. Overall, a great product for converting wired CarPlay to wireless. Highly recommended.

Great little gadget
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Rexing CPW-42 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter, and it’s been a game changer for my daily driving. Setup was quick and straightforward — I plugged it in, paired my phone, and it connected within minutes. Now my CarPlay starts up automatically every time I get in the car, without needing to mess with cables. The connection has been stable with smooth audio and minimal lag, even when streaming music or using navigation. I like that it works with both iPhone and Android, so it’s versatile if we switch between phones in the household. The compact design is a plus too — it’s not bulky and tucks away neatly. Overall, it delivers exactly what I wanted: convenience, reliability, and a more seamless driving experience. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re tired of plugging in your phone every time you get behind the wheel

Seamless Android Auto Experience – Highly Recommen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Rexing CPW-42 for my Kia Stinger and couldn’t be happier with it. From the start, the unit came very well packaged with everything you need to get your phone connected right away. The included accessories and clear instructions make it feel like Rexing thought of everything. The setup was intuitive and quick, thanks to the well-written user manual that guided me through each step without any confusion. Within minutes, I was up and running. The connection speed is impressive—it pairs with my phone almost instantly and the experience is completely seamless. No lag, no dropped connections, just smooth operation every time. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend the CPW-42 to anyone looking for a reliable Android Auto/Apple car play wireless adapter.

Fixed the connection problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had Android Auto with two cars and one brand of phone - Hyundais and Ssmsung phones. Both cars and mutliple phones would occasionally disconnect and reconnect a few times before settling down. New cables mad no difference. Figured I'd give wireless a try. Haven't had a single disconnect since using it. However everything isn't peachy, but it's not a fault of the adapter. Since you're connecting wirelessly, expect to drain the battery. Mine drains about 8% per hour. Not bad, except that if I'm on a long drive I can't charge while casting because the Fold overheats and stops charging. Not Rexing's problem, but something to keep in mind when buying one. I don't know how a flat phone fares, but it could possibly do better with heat dissipation. My fat phone can't even use the wireless charger in my car without overheating. So, trade off is stable connection but a 8%/hour drain. I'd say 90% of the time, the drain isn't worth worrying about but keep a cable nearby in case you need to swap back to wired.

Better, but still has some lag
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got this and have been using it for the last 3 weeks. I previously had the Rexing CPW-2. This one is an improvement over the CPW-2 in that it is much smaller and directly plugs into the USB port of my truck, so no wires to deal with. It's easy to install and connect. I'll cut to the chase and say the only annoying thing about it is the same thing I didn't like about the CPW-2, and that's the lag between the phone output and the car speaker output. There's still about a 0.5-1sec lag. This lag is definitely noticeable when watching videos on the phone (audio lags actions like lips moving, etc). It seems possibly noticeable during conversations on phone calls, but hard to tell. It's not noticeable when using it for any other purpose. Just something to consider if you are interested in converting from wired to wireless CarPlay.

Works great, super easy setup!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to finally get rid of the annoying cables in my car, and it works perfectly. The Pros: • Super Fast: It connects to my phone automatically by the time I back out of my driveway. • Easy Setup: Took about 60 seconds to pair it the first time. • Small: It’s tiny and hides away easily in the console. • Reliable: No random disconnects or freezing so far. The Cons: • There is a tiny (1-second) lag when skipping songs, but that’s normal for wireless. Final Verdict: If you’re tired of plugging your phone in every time you get in the car, just get this. It makes life much easier!

Works Like a Charm!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been wanting to ditch the wire for a long time but have always been skeptical on these things as there as so many out there and so many varied opinions. Luckily, I came across Rexing and after a whole lot of research, I pulled the trigger and bought it. SUPER easy set up and connection which has been consistent every time I get in my vehicle. Audio sounds amazing and the connection when you turn on your car is almost instant. You'll still want to keep a cable for charging if you're going on a long trip as this pulls some juice due to the Bluetooth and WiFi connection. The only thing that is slightly annoying is that the connection to the vehicle remains on for a bit after you shut off the car which can be slightly irritating. Otherwise, I highly recommend and consider it money well spent.

Rexing CPW‑42 Wireless Android Auto Adapter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Rexing CPW‑42 is a plug-and-play adapter that upgrades cars with wired CarPlay or Android Auto to support wireless connections. Setup is fast—just plug it into your car’s USB port, pair your phone via Bluetooth, and it seamlessly connects via 5 GHz Wi‑Fi every time you start your vehicle. A key highlight is its ability to enable wireless Android Auto in vehicles that don’t support it natively, offering a cleaner, more convenient experience without cables. Performance is smooth, with minimal lag during navigation, media playback, and voice commands. Pros: Easy, fast setup Reliable wireless connection Enables wireless Android Auto on unsupported systems Compact, no permanent installation needed Things to Note: Your phone won’t charge unless used with a wireless charger Occasional reconnection may be needed in rare cases Requires a vehicle with wired CarPlay or Android Auto support Verdict: The CPW‑42 is a simple, effective way to modernize your car's infotainment system. If you want wireless Android Auto or CarPlay without changing your head unit, this adapter is a great value.

A pleasant surprise
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was using a CarLinkkit for years. All of a sudden, it started randomly rebooting and took forever to connect. I happened to stumble on the Rexing the very day I was going to order a replacement. It was a great purchase! It connects almost instantly and never drops a connection. Plus, it is very small an is not in the way. I am using it for CarPlay, I suspect results with Android Auto will be similar. Buy without hesitation.

Rexing CPW-42 is great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Rexing CPW-42 with Android Auto, and it’s been a really solid upgrade. The setup was simple — plug it in, pair it once, and after that it connects on its own every time I start the car. The wireless Android Auto connection is quick, smooth, and just as responsive as being plugged in. Navigation, music, and apps switch effortlessly with no lag or stuttering. The compact size is a huge plus because it stays completely out of the way and doesn’t clutter the console. Compared to the other wireless adapters I’ve used, this one runs cooler, doesn’t drain my phone battery, and reconnects more reliably. The signal stays stable even on rough roads or when jumping between apps. The only small downsides are the tiny text in the manual and the included USB-C adapter making the unit a bit long. But overall, it’s been a dependable, plug-and-forget device that makes using Android Auto much more convenient. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a clean, hassle-free wireless setup.

Perfect size, fast, and affordable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Huge improvement over the previous generation CarPlay unit that Rexing made, IMHO. I had been using their previous unit, and while it was great, I hated that it wasn't a dongle and instead was a corded unit that took up a lot of space in my center console. I now understand that all wireless CarPlay has a slight delay in skipping songs, it's the nature of how CarPlay works. What I love? Connection feels somehow faster than the previous model. Once paired initially, it connects every single time, super quickly. Barely has time to show the splash screen of the "connect to pair" before CarPlay fires up and runs like a champ. Maps work wonderfully, and its great because in PA they just made a new law that says even at a red light you can't have a phone in your hand, so I either keep my phone in my pocket, or throw it in the glovebox, and away I go! Overall, the size is perfect, takes up almost zero real-estate, and has allowed me to more seamlessly listen to music and navigate without having to mess around with all of the cords in all of our FCA vehicles (We have a Challenger, Grand Cherokee, and Chrysler 300)

Works well and connects instantly.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works very well and connected right away after pairing it with my phone. It did initially drop a call or two but hasn’t since. I have plenty of Rexing dash cams so it’s a brand I’m very familiar with. Their products are always simple to use and pretty reliable. CarPlay works with all the apps and couldn’t be happier. It’s nice that it’s small and not too bulky and it does come with a USB C adapter if needed.

Finally no lag!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After several years and various products, I finally found one that works with no lag in my 2019 Honda Odyssey. The cord works fine, but sometimes the kids want the phone in the back and it doesn't reach. Or when I make a quick stop, I have to unplug the phone. And there is no where to put the phone, so when it is plugged in it just has to sit on the console and regularly falls off. I have tried several wireless car play adapters, and some didn't work at all, some worked intermittently, and any one that did work had a major lag. Several just showed Linux screens. The one I did find that worked for a while lagged, and stopped working after a few weeks. The Rexing CPW-42 Wireless CarPlay adapter finally works. I can come and go and pass the phone around and it stays connected. It also has almost no lag, which makes phone calls so much better. After 5 years, I can finally go wireless!
