Great wireless option for Car Play

I purchased this because both my wife and I have different iPhone's with different connectors and we were tired of dealing with the cords. We have both a Kia EV6 and a Telluride. The Rexing CPW-42 works great and automatically connects Car Play and then our phone connects to it. I have not noticed any difference between the connection speed when plugged into the car or using the wireless feature. Everything seems to work flawlessly. It is also very straight forward to connect. My only downside and the reason I give it 4 vs. 5 stars is that it only seeks to connect to the last phone that connected to it. so if I want to use my phone and my wife previously had her phone connected, I have to manually connect mine via Bluetooth. I contacted support and they confirmed this functionality and are compiling a list of people interested in this feature. If they get enough, they will issue a software upgrade that will be downloaded to the device when a phone is connected.

The Rexing CPW‑42 is a plug-and-play adapter that upgrades cars with wired CarPlay or Android Auto to support wireless connections. Setup is fast—just plug it into your car’s USB port, pair your phone via Bluetooth, and it seamlessly connects via 5 GHz Wi‑Fi every time you start your vehicle. A key highlight is its ability to enable wireless Android Auto in vehicles that don’t support it natively, offering a cleaner, more convenient experience without cables. Performance is smooth, with minimal lag during navigation, media playback, and voice commands. Pros: Easy, fast setup Reliable wireless connection Enables wireless Android Auto on unsupported systems Compact, no permanent installation needed Things to Note: Your phone won’t charge unless used with a wireless charger Occasional reconnection may be needed in rare cases Requires a vehicle with wired CarPlay or Android Auto support Verdict: The CPW‑42 is a simple, effective way to modernize your car's infotainment system. If you want wireless Android Auto or CarPlay without changing your head unit, this adapter is a great value.

    Great CarPlay adapter!

Hello. This is my honest review about the CarPlay adapter from Rexing. Little background: I have Honda Civic with CarPlay feature. I got this car new and I have been driving it for the past 10 years. It is a great car, but recently when I try to connect my cell to the car, CarPlay started to kick me out. I tied buying a new cable, but that was not it. I think my cell phone port is worn out. So I was debating whether to upgrade my cell or get something to fix the issue. After researching online and asking friends, I came across of Rexing Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto. I already have multiple Rexing products and it was an easy decision for me. It was at a good priced point (20X cheaper than buying a new cell phone) and I also can reply on amazing customer support with Rexing. I have been using this Bluetooth connected CarPlay for a few days now and it is great and functions as intended! It is small and black and very convenient to use. No more frustrating disconnections. If you have an issue like me, please, get this and your problem will be solved. I hope this review will help someone. Thanks

I’ve been using the Rexing CPW-42 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter, and it’s been a game changer for my daily driving. Setup was quick and straightforward — I plugged it in, paired my phone, and it connected within minutes. Now my CarPlay starts up automatically every time I get in the car, without needing to mess with cables. The connection has been stable with smooth audio and minimal lag, even when streaming music or using navigation. I like that it works with both iPhone and Android, so it’s versatile if we switch between phones in the household. The compact design is a plus too — it’s not bulky and tucks away neatly. Overall, it delivers exactly what I wanted: convenience, reliability, and a more seamless driving experience. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re tired of plugging in your phone every time you get behind the wheel

We got the Rexing CPW-42 for my wife’s 2018 Honda Odyssey, and she absolutely loves it. Setup was quick and painless—just plug into the USB port and follow the pairing instructions. Within minutes, her iPhone connected automatically, and now she never has to mess with cable again. CarPlay loads fast and runs smoothly, and she can jump straight into navigation, music, and messages without fumbling with cords while juggling the kids. It’s a small upgrade that makes a huge difference in daily driving. Highly recommended!

Better, but still has some lag

I recently got this and have been using it for the last 3 weeks. I previously had the Rexing CPW-2. This one is an improvement over the CPW-2 in that it is much smaller and directly plugs into the USB port of my truck, so no wires to deal with. It's easy to install and connect. I'll cut to the chase and say the only annoying thing about it is the same thing I didn't like about the CPW-2, and that's the lag between the phone output and the car speaker output. There's still about a 0.5-1sec lag. This lag is definitely noticeable when watching videos on the phone (audio lags actions like lips moving, etc). It seems possibly noticeable during conversations on phone calls, but hard to tell. It's not noticeable when using it for any other purpose. Just something to consider if you are interested in converting from wired to wireless CarPlay.

The setup is super easy, and the connection is rock solid. Its small form factor makes it look like it came with the car. Just a heads up, make sure you paired it while it’s still connected to the car. I was in a rush and paired it while it was connected to my computer’s USB port, thinking I could save some time in the morning. But guess what? I had to unpair and pair it again when I actually started using it. So far, no issues.

I have an older truck with bluetooth however it's kind of spotty at best. Really would like to use my iPhone in there for music and such but the cheap bluetooth receivers/transmitters I see are pretty poor quality for the cheap ones. Came across this one as I've been a Rexing dash cam user for quite a while. This thing works pretty well. Able to use my iPhone 16 Pro Max in my truck more consistently now thanks to this. Sound quality is OK but the signal strength is what I'm most impressed with. Pretty much have good connection with this. My other bluetooth transimitters/receivers cut out once every 10-15 seconds. This one seems more stable for me.

I should have bought this instant fix for wireless CarPlay years ago. It works and setup is a breeze. It connects automatically with no trouble every time I start up my truck. I love it. There is one small glitchy thing, about half the time, upon first connect, the music playing from my iPhone starts right up for 10 seconds, then cuts out for 2 seconds then it works as expected with no issues at all. Honestly, it doesn't bother me since I get the benefits of wireless CarPlay on my 2021 Ram 1500 now which I am super stoked about.

I recently got this adapter, and overall it’s been a solid upgrade to my wired option. The setup was extremely simple - plug it into your USB port, pair via Bluetooth, and it just worked! It paired with my Samsung phone seamlessly with zero hiccups, and the connection has stayed stable even after restarts. Audio and navigation functions respond as quickly as the wired setup. If you’re looking for a fuss-free way to get wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, this adapter delivers.

I had an earlier version of the Rexing CarPlay adapter - the BBY-CPW-1 - in my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. It wasn't stable, would lose connection from time to time, and there would often be a noticeable lag between the iPhone and the car. This model CPW-42 is a real improvement. It is much smaller - like a fob rather than a box with a USB cable - the connection seems to be solid - I haven't experienced a lost connection - and it is much more responsive. No noticeable lag. I wasn't satisfied with the previous model; I am with this one.

I purchased this to use in my 2018 VW Golf GTI. It is small, about the size of a USB drive and so it doesn't get in the way. I got it to work in less that 2mins. No issues with my OnePlus 13 Android phone and it's fast and seamless. I tried another product from a different manufacturer which did not work as quickly. I will buy this again for our second car.

I’ve been using Rexing products for over 10 years now, and one thing I’ve always appreciated is how responsive they are when you need support. The CPW-42 is no different, it does exactly what it promises. If you’re tired of fumbling with cables every time you drive, this adapter makes CarPlay/Android Auto completely hassle-free. The setup is quick, the connection is solid, and it just works. A small upgrade that makes driving a lot more enjoyable. It is a little more expensive then other options online, but Rexing makes a quality product and you really do get what you pay for these days.

This Rexing CPW-42 provides a wireless wifi and bluethooth Android Auto (AA) interface between a Samsung S24U and a 2022 Lexus RX 350. The initial setup was quick, easy, didn't require an app on the phone. AA is up and running in about 15 seconds after the car's engine start up. So far, the connections have been 100% reliable too. Highly recommend.

This is a very simple way to turn your wired CarPlay into wireless. Setup was very easy and it connects within seconds of turning the car on. It has disconnected a few times while driving, but I have the same issue with a wired connection, so I think it's an issue with my vehicle. Overall, I'd recommend it for its simplicity and ease of use.

The Rexing CPW‑42 is very much one of the better dongles out there that offers wireless CarPlay / Android Auto without needing a separate companion app. For me and most users wanting to go wireless without massive upgrades, it’s the device to go to and it connects as soon as I start the car. Very good device, I certainly recommend it.

Purchased this to work with my 2024 Honda Odyssey with wired CarPlay. I tried a couple of cheaper options from Amazon, but immediately ran into issues connecting and with latency. The Rexing CPW-42 reliably and quickly connects each time I start my vehicle, and I don't experience significant latency issues. The performance is very comparable to the factory wireless CarPlay in my wife's new car.
