Terrific and easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been wanting a dash camera for a while now. I wanted something that didn't stick out or sit on the dashboard of my car. The fact that this is mounted onto my mirror is great. It's out of the way, easy to use and doesn't clash with anything in the car. My only complaint is the fit. The car I own has a safety feature above the mirror that made installing it a little troublesome. I wish the battery life was a little bit better too. The interface is simple and pretty responsive. All in all, this is a good product, especially if you don't have a back camera in your car.

Dashcam Broken

Great camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So the front camera is great. Rear camera is ok. Easy to install but a little work if wanting to hide the cables or use the rear camera as a backup camera. Few things would have been nice. A mount to just replace rear view mirror. (But keep the option that is there now as well). Option to be able to use rear camera as a backup if not connected with backup lights. Granted you can use rear camera still, it just won’t have the lines. The wire that connects the rear camera to backup lights would like it to be able to disconnect instead of having to hide it. Maybe instead of the interface being part of the mirror have a separate view window under mirror that shows camera views so you can use your mirror and still see camera on. Also would love at least 8 gigs of memory. Prefer 32 or more. Either internal or SSD card. The power cord would be nice if it was the newer USB c type or something so that it can be plugged in 2 different ways. Also need to make it so you can stream to a phone. Would also like to see a option to do 3 cameras. One front, one rear, and one inside. Overall though front camera looks great. Love that it has an option to take a picture. Love that you can also move the camera around a little bit if needed. The list above is my opinion and those things are small and minor. It’s nice having a camera, especially these days as even insurance companies try to get out of paying. This camera will do that and in great quality.

Nice overall dash cam
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really impressed with this dash cam, it pretty much fits all rearview mirrors, not only is it a rearview mirror but it also has a built-in LCD screen so that you can see exactly what you are recording. The front facing camera which is the most important camera is in high definition and it is The front facing camera which is the most important camera is in high definition and it is a very clear on the LCD monitor and also when you view the clips on your computer. The rear camera camera is nowhere as good as the front, but it does have a great little feature called auto reverse, basically when you put the car in reverse you will get a live feed from the rear camera and it will act as a blind spot monitor, if your car already has something like this then now you will have two screens to better help you look for Blindspot as you reverse. Not bad for the price,, has lots of features like expendable memory, G-Shock, touch screen, and comes with all the cables you’ll need for easy set up.

Great Peace of Mind
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When my child told me she wanted to be a driver for a restaurant delivery service I was quite a bit worried. I knew that if I wanted a peace of mind I needed a way to ensure that in any situation she was monitored. So this is where the M1 Front and Rear Camera Dash Cam came into play. The initial set up requires a little bit of understanding of how to wire the system up. First I had to figure how i want to place the rear camera in the vehicle. Once I had that planned out I ran the wires in the best possible and shortest way to the fuse panel. Once at the fuse panel everything else was pretty much straight forward. I can honestly say it was a pretty simple install. Once power was applied to the Rexing, migrating through the different settings was seamless. The image that this system displays is top notch. I could easily see what was happening in frond and behind me. After driving around for a few minutes I returned home and took the footage from my SD card and placed it on my PC. I'm blown away by the footage and now I have a great peace of mind. I definitely will and do recommend this camera system to any one looking to ensure they are covered in an unfortunate situation.

Works but not for everyone.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This attaches to your rear view mirror and has a camera that pops out of the mirror part. The front camera works well and video is clear and crisp. The rear camera not so much. I'm not sure if it's the tints on my back window or the resolution, but at night the rear camera is very hard to make out. I had to use a L shaped bracket to attach this to my rear window since what they provide just doesn't cut it. I had plenty of cord to run from the front to the back in a crew cab full size truck so no worries there. Using the rear camera as a rear view mirror definitely takes some getting used to. The first day or 2 I had some slight motion sickness as I was looking at a screen broadcasting video of cars behind me instead of a mirror. A week later and it doesn't really bother me at all. Getting the sd card out is kind of a pain. You have to basically take the whole camera off of your mirror to get to it, which is a hassle. Why not put the sd card on the bottom of the device? Makes no sense. No matter what car you drive, there's not alot of space between the mirror and the top of your headliner. I think for the price and the value, it's worth it. I feel like Rexing could have taken a little more time in design to make a better product. The rear camera attachment, the sd card location and quality of the rear camera are all things you should think about when buying it.

Impressive camera - Documentation lacking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was impressed with the quality of both cameras. I would recommend having this installed by GeekSquad if you aren't car-savvy or feeling adventurous as it does require running a wire from the dash cam on your rearview mirror through your headliner to the camera on the back window and another from the rear facing camera to your reverse brake lights if you want the rearview camera to automatically activate when you enter reverse. Cons: The installation is quite complex vs using a wireless rear-view camera, but the quality and stability is better as a result. The instructions are a bit lacking, both for installation as well as how to use the various features of the display and what the settings and symbols represent. Overall, if you have a supported model of car that doesn't already have a backup camera, and are either very car-savvy or get it professionally installed, I would recommend the Rexing Dash Cam.

A must if you drive in Southern California
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My daily commute rages around 1 hour in the morning to 1 hr 45 min in the evening. Much of that commute involves bumper-to-bumper traffic. SO many times I've come close to some sort of accident. I've realized that in order to protect me and my liability, I needed to invest in a dash camera. I did not want to spend tons of money on a GoPro, and thankfully, I came across Rexing's M1 Front AND Rear dash camera. Inside the box comes: the Dashboard camera, HD rear camera (water proof), extension cable for the rear camera, car charger, cable management tool, Quick Start Guide, and Safety Guide. Notice: No microSD card. Immediately out of the box, you recognize that this is pretty hefty and solid built. It is not a traditional camera that you can stick onto the front dash or on the windshield. This actually attaches to your rear-view mirror, thus eliminating something onto your dash and obstruct your view. You can also connect a rear camera that can operate when you go into reverse, although I have not done that. After a few weeks of installation and getting used to it, here are my immediate thoughts: Pros: -Does not obstruct your dash view: As mentioned, this connects to the rear-view mirror. I like how this was designed because it offers clear viewing of your windshield, but also it can hide your camera as it looks "naturally" a part of your vehicle. -Touch screen: as it attaches to your rear-view mirror, you now have a very good sized touch screen (10' IPS), moreso than any other dash camera out there. It utilizes the entire surface area with the appropriate touch buttons at the bottom. They are: recording, take a still photo, disable audio, unlock recording, playback and setting. At the top you have the recording light, brightness adjuster. On the right of the mirror are the Time/Date indicators. If you want to see the rear-view, you simply SWIPE left/right to switch the views. To adjust the view angle, you SWIPE up/down. At the very bottom are the Power buttons/screen toggle, USB charging port, rear camera port, microSD slot, and GPS logger (which this does not support). -Set-up: Pretty straight forward, but you do have to format your microSD card before it can be used. I didn't know that and it wiped my card clean (I had previous recorded dash video from my old camera. Oh well.) - Display Quality: Display was high resolution and gave me a wide field of view. Cons: -No microSD card provided. Considering how cheap these cards are now, they should have included it. Maybe I'm just being nit-picky. -The rear-view set up. I decided to install this camera on my 2011 Sienna. The cord was just enough to reach the rear but I could not fully install it the way it was supposed. I ended up mounting it right before the trunk door hinge. I believe an extra 4 inches would've made a difference. I may install this in my 2016 Prius as that does not require a lot of cord length. Maybe different options in length. -The sticky tabs to hold the cords to your ceiling: I hate these things. They do not stick to the upholstery, They continue to fall off so I used Gorilla tape to hold it down. There needs to be better mounting options for upholstery. Overall, I am very pleased with this Dash Camera. Well worth the investment especially if you commute in traffic.

This is How All Dashcams Should Be
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a cool gadget! I don’t know why this isn’t the design all dashcams use, it just makes sense. This is the first dashcam I’ve ever used that didn’t look like an awkward little box dangling from your windshield. The camera and screen are hidden behind a rear view mirror that doubles as a screen if you need it. Setup isn’t too terrible, though it does involve running wires throughout your car and removing interior panels to hide them as well as connecting a wire to the reverse sensor if you plan to use the backup camera. I would recommend using an auto shop to install to make it look good. Using the camera is pretty simple, there is a power button on the bottom to cycle through off mode, playback mode, and a mode with a little video and the time. The whole mirror is one big touchscreen so navigating the menus isn’t very hard. The screen is behind a two way mirror so the quality isn’t perfect but, it still looks good. There’s also a gravity sensor that detects crashes and auto records and locks the footage, I haven’t had a chance to try it and hope I don’t but, it is nice to know the feature is there. The backup camera works great, I’ve never had one in my truck before and am really happy how well this one works. Overall this is by far the coolest backup camera I’ve ever used and given all the extra features; backup camera, hidden design, I don’t see myself ever needing another one.

Feature Rich, Easy to Install Dash Cam!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spent about 1 Hour and 45 minutes getting this installed in my GMC Terrain. Nothing was difficult and it came with everything I needed to get the system up and going. My favorite thing about this Dash Cam is the giant screen that clips over the rear view mirror. It is far superior to the small screen setups I have used in the past. The auto reverse feature is nice too, I use it in conjunction with my existing backup camera to provider a much larger field of view. Overall this dash cam checks all the boxes and is very simple to use, I love it!

Great especially if you do not have a back up cam!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dash cam is a good add on to my SUV and maybe to any car. It does require some work but so far, the advantages are worth it for me. 1) Installation is not for amateurs. It did require me to have it installed by a car shop though because I don’t like having wires in my car. Luckily, the installer was able to tuck the wires so that the only wires I have, are the ones running from the mirror to the ceiling which is only a couple of inches. 2) It helps with my backing up. The camera automatically shows a better and wider view as soon as I put my car on reverse. I do not have a newer car. I have a 2009 Land Rover that does not have a back-up camera. So this comes in really handy without me having to complicate my current dashboard console set up. 3) The video is pretty clear so I can record some nice drives without having to ask someone to use my phone for recording. I do not take a lot of camp trips, but when I do, I like recording my trails. This is a great solution for off road trails. 4) It makes me feel more secure and have peace-of-mind. I sometimes park my car on the curb. It makes me feel good that I can capture any incident if something were to happen. 5) My only gripe is that the mirror itself is not as bright and clear as the original one. So using it as a regular rearview mirror takes some getting used to--- but I think, that con does not outweigh the advantages of having this. I like this rearview dashcam. I feel like I have a newer car!

Get the Installation
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So my wife got into an accident in the summer and it was an entire mess. I thought this would make a great tool in case that would ever happen, plus I’ve seen some hilarious/interesting dash cam videos online. It was slightly disappointing realizing that a microSD card was not included, but oh well they aren’t too expensive now. Setup seemed pretty simple as long as you know how to route wires around your vehicle (not one of my strengths). I ended up getting frustrated with it and going to Best Buy to have them install it. They made it seem like a breeze. Once it was properly setup it worked well, and interface seems great. I love the backup camera feature on the rear view mirror but it seems redundant since my vehicle already has a backup camera. Maybe this would be great for vehicles that did not come with backup cameras. The cost seems great, especially if you need a backup camera. Backing up videos is pretty easy with the microSD card. Good overall product. Installation can be a pain so inquire about installation at the store. Great unit if you’re looking for a budget friendly way to add a backup camera to your car.

Great Dash Cam, Easy installation
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spend a lot of time on the road commuting to and from work and the drivers along the way are at times insane. I have not been in any accidents in many years, thank goodness, but I like knowing that if something bad happens, I will have it recorded if I need to show authorities what happened. This dashcam is very impressive both in quality and in features. I wasn’t sure about installing an over the mirror, but I do not like the types you put on the windshield since I find those to be very distracting. This one clips on top of the rear view mirror. The quality of video is excellent and the night vision is outstanding. Installation is a mixed bag. The mirror camera is easy enough to install, but the rear camera requires running wires along the car header to the back window. If you’re not used to working with wires in a car, then you might want to get some help. Aside from running the wires, the installation is very easy. In addition, you will want to insert a micro SD memory card to keep recorded video. You will need to format the SD card in the camera. Overall, I would definitely recommend this rear view dash cam.

Good Front and Rear Dashcam
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty good dash cam that has both a front and rear camera. Some things to know. First, this is really intended to be installed by a professional. The instructions are not great and if you are not a mechanic or regular installer of after market parts, you're going to be pretty clueless on how to install this "right". You can always run the wires just taped to the inside of your car, and it will work correctly, but it will look ugly. Taking off paneling, connecting wires to your rear lights, etc. all take a bit more than an average person usually knows. I had my neighbor mechanic help me install mine and it looks and works great, but I would never have been able to do it myself. In fact if you go beyond the quick start guide included in the package and look at the online manual it specifically says that they suggest a professional installer for the rear camera. Second, this sits on top of your rear view mirror. It threw me off for a bit because instead of using your mirror, this gives you a continuous feed from your rear-view mirror. This means you need to install it right so you can actually see what you need to out the rear camera for it to be an electronic feed instead of a mirror. It is mostly reflective so you can use it as a mirror if you turn off the device. This takes a bit to get used to, but once you are used to it, its actually a bit better than a mirror. Because its not a mirror, it doesn't depend on angles. If you can see it it will be the "right" angle. This is great for when my wife drives my car because she doesn't need to tilt the mirror and I don't need to tilt it back. Its just one less thing to worry about. But, don't try to use this without the rear camera. If you do, it will be stuck on the forward camera view and the display ties up your rear-view mirror, so you're just down a safety device. Its really designed to use both cameras or not at all. The recordings are clear seem to be pretty steady, but I haven't had a dash cam in the past to compare against. I also haven't been in an accident to know how well the cameras work in recording for that scenario. Overall, great dash cam, just not for the amateur installer.

Amazing how far Dashcams have come
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm amazed at how far these Dashcams have come, I had NO idea they had dashcams that simply strapped on top of your rear view mirror and had an LCD that was the *SAME* size and display size as your rear view mirror. Amazing! There only a few negatives I will cover up front because otherwise this unit is amazing especially for the price. My only major concern is that as a rearview mirror, you simply don't get as clear or bright an image as a true mirror. There is a blue-ish tint that must be from the overlaid LCD TFT layer film that makes the mirror less clear and mirrorlike. The second negative is that the rear cam is going to difficult to install and conceal well. If you want this done right and safely, you will want this done by the professionals. I actually only really needed the dashcam which was easy to install by running from the top under the moulding, down the side of the dash and again underneath the upholstery to my console (Ford Explorer). I have a full rear view system so I didn't install the back camera yet. Overall this is a great Dashcam and you can use a microSD card up to 256GB to store lots of video. Definitely worth it for liability purposes the way people drive distracted nowadays on their phones. For this price it will pay for itself in just 1 accident or incident!!!

Really cool, but not thought through
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Rexing M1 dashcam was a "wow" the moment I opened the box. Unlike other models I've seen, settings and features are logically organized on-screen, and thus easy to find. The interface is easy to read and adequately responsive. The Quick Start Guide was well-written and complete enough to get the device installed and operational. The PROBLEM is the basic design: it's a mirror, people. Mirrors are for reflecting. If the display completely fills the mirror, it's a "display" and not a "mirror." It took too long to figure out how to turn the display OFF so that I could actually use the required-by-law rear view mirror. Yes, there is a QR code to scan for the User Manual, but no where is it clearly and simply described how to get back to it just being a mirror. Yes, I found it. Just briefly press the power button on the bottom of the unit. Twice. Well, that depends on which camera is showing, but it isn't difficult to figure out, just annoying. Oh, and you have to do that every time the unit powers up - usually every time you start your vehicle. Also - if you touch the display, even slightly, like if you have to adjust your mirror, the display comes on again. I tried several times to connect to the device with the free app, but my phone wasn't able to see it. The huge "Connect" image in the app suggests that it is a WiFi connection, so I looked there. Nothing. I tried Bluetooth, mostly so I could say that I looked everywhere. Overall, it's a great unit with respect to recording and display quality, but in a dashcam, I prefer to have it do its work behind the scenes and not call attention to itself. In this regard, it is too often frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from RexingUSA
Posted .You can enable the "screensaver" option in the menu settings.
That will turn the screen off, but the camera will still record, so you can use it as a normal mirror.
Also, the M1 does not have the wifi feature to connect to the app.
You must put the camera in playback mode, or take out the micro sd card and play it on a computer, for better results.
Thank you.
