Customers express satisfaction with the M1 1296P Mirror Dash Cam's camera quality, ease of use, and installation process. Many appreciate the inclusion of a rear view camera and find the price reasonable for the features offered. However, some users note issues with glare on the screen, particularly in bright sunlight, and limitations with night vision capabilities. Concerns were also raised regarding the length of the rear camera cable and battery life.

I just installed this Rexing M1 in my car a week ago. I’m still playing around with it, to see what it can do. So far, I like it! It records both front and rear of you car. Plus, it’s also a back up camera. Installation was pretty easy. The quality of video are great. Just make sure you get the memory card for dash cams. I think the camera lens should have been on the bottom, instead on the side. It keeps getting hit when you move the windshield visor. Overall it’s great product and a good upgrade to your car.

This is a overall a great budget dashcam that doesn't clutter your dash if you have something already on your dash for your phone. The rear camera likes to only be placed pinned to the ceiling of something so I had to take it off its mount and took some M3 adhesive pads to mount it the way I wanted it to. Otherwise the picture was upside down. I'd highly reccommend to get a 4 pin rear camera extension cord for the back up camera because the wire out of the box isn't enough and if you want to do a clean no wire seen installation, go look online for your car and how to run the wire through the interior. I had a lot of trouble running it through and figuring out how to remove panels because I've never done this before. Also get a T tap with connection so you can wire the back up camera to the tail light as the box doesn't come with one but the manual will say you can wire it to the back up light. If you're wondering if you can use it as a mirror, you can. The front camera has two films on it. One is just the packaging film like when you buy a new phone. Under it is a screen protector. Removing both will make it just as clear as on the rear view mirror. In daylight, you can keep the front camera on while driving and still use it as a normal mirror and at a certain angle of view, you can see it showing the camera view. Push the power button twice to turn it off. In night time, both cameras show decent enough clarity to what's happening around you.

I especially wanted a front and rearview cameras. I had a professional service place install this since the "Geek Squad" was not available at all but this electronics place did an excellent job. It will take a bit of getting used to when you look in the rear view mirror. I had to "darken" it a bit in order to eliminate some of the glare. For the price, I feel it was worth it and Rexing stands behind their products.

Was looking for good back up camera and this was it. Really wanted M2 Pro because of mirror functions they were all sold out. Got this one instead and it was very easy to install. Did it myself with wires and back up camera. Wish it came with instructions on the mirror functions but YouTube and I figured it out. Overall video quality and streaming quality was A.1. Love it.

This unit works well. Front camera is very crisp, rear camera is good. Lots of features I was not expecting, such as adjusting cameras view with just an up/down swipe of fingers, but lacking gps and 12hr clock setting in the menu. I leave this unit plugged in 24/7 for security reasons, and does not drain the battery, even on the coldest (-11°) days.

Pretty easy to install, nice display through both front and rear facing cameras, even at night through dark tinted windows. The one issue I've discovered thus far is that the back up parking assist lines appear in any gear. I'm learning to tune tune them out because I love how well the system covers blind spots. I also think the installation guide/ product manual is sorely lacking in direction for installation and using the features . My M1 did not come with a ( supplied?) Computer cable for updating.

wanted a backup camera for my pickup and I found this and the dashcam was included. great price. geek squad couldn't install it because rear video cable was too short. they installed a different backup camera with longer cable. I installed the Rexing unit in my Jeep patriot and it works great. Very satisfied.

Design: Clean. No need to stick on windshield or dash. Large mirror, easy touch screen. Assembly : 1. FRONT. Easy. On top of old rearview mirror. 2. BACK. Camera installation time consuming due to wire & camera placement. Placed camera inside back windshield. Much easier with my 2010 Toyota SUV, which has no back-up camera. Function: Superb! Clear image. Wide angle views especially with back-up camera. Nice to move either camera, up or down, with the touch screen. Touch screen does need normal pressure to work, not cell phone sensitive pressure. Value: Totally worth it! Quality product especially if have poor rear visibility or no back-up camera. (Bought product elsewhere (BB) on sale, Dec 2020.)

This is a great budget friendly front and rear camera system. There’s nicer ones on the market if you want to spend 300 or 400 dollars, but for what it costs it’s a great system. The only thing I don’t like about it is at night the cameras are very dark. Simple installation and set up!

Apparently the M1 isn't an included model any more but as long as you're asking, it suits my dashcam needs just fine. I needed a mirror mounted cam because I have a custom sun shade that won't accommodate a glass suction mount. I'm running a 128 card in it with no problems. The controls are easy to access and the menu is easy to follow. The quality of the video is acceptable for me with the rear cam being slightly better. My car has a backup cam so I'm using the rear cam just for monitoring the rear and occasionally as a rear view. It was easy to install. My only issue is that I should have gotten it a week before when it was $50 cheaper... oh well.

This is a great combination Dash Cam/Backup Camera. It is extremely easy to use and set up. The only problem I have with it is the length of the cable to connect the rear camera to the unit itself. I am installing it on a 1999 Silverado extended cab and it is not long enough to go from the rearview mirror and route along the trim and through the firewall and then back to above the license plate where I want to connect it. I'm sure it would be long enough for most cars out there and because I like everything else about it so much I am going to figure out how to extend it so I can make it work.

does a good job as a camera. Nice wide angle picture. I had to adjust my mirror so there wouldn't be a glare on the rexing screen. There is a lot of glare from almost every angle making it hard to see the screen in the day time.

I'm an average middle-aged woman who uses computers and iPhones, but I have to stop and puzzle high-tech things out. First, I read the manual several times, underlining the important steps. Then I went forth to my car and plugged it in. It's pretty easy. The hardest part is learning what the camera can do and how to do it. A few taps here and there, and I think I have it. I have yet to run the rear camera, because I want to hide the cord under the floor mat, rather than across the underside of the roof. No rush on that. I'm happy with the front view protecting me against insurance scams.

I’ve had almost every camera setup available from OE integrated backup cams to GoPro action. In my honest opinion, the Rexing M1 is the perfect all around setup. The images are vibrant and clear. The quality of the screen and cameras are too notch. The install is so simple a child could do it. The interface is user friendly , and the customizable options are just enough for almost anyone. Using a camera image for your rear view mirror needs is something I never considered but now couldn’t live without. I am more than happy to sing the praises of the Rexing M1, it’s a great value and you’ll be happy you purchased it

Mirror is a good buy if your interested in photography evidence!.the only downside that i experienced is the somewhat distorted rear view because of tint on the glass, besides that the mirror is a really good buy just in case a unfortunate event happens you will have proof of evidence!..No need to argue just let your video speak for you!..I will be purchasing three more for the other cars!

This backup camera has been a lifesaver. I initially purchased this product because it was difficult for me to see behind me when i backup, especially when I am leaving the parking lot. This camera prevents me from guessing or assuming if a pedestrian is walking behind me while backing up from a parking spot. The only complaint that I find is that the quality of the night view is a blurry at night, but I can see the vehicles behind me. To compensate, I utilize my side mirrors.

purchased a new used car for my daughter to head to college in. Don't have the money to install a whole new carplay radio with back up camera yet but found this great fix. This mounts easily over the existing mirror. The camera has great picture, wiring it up was easy. it auto comes on when the car is in reverse. I like that you can flip the view on the mirror to be a mirror, always show the back up camera view or forward camera view.

I spent many days looking and reviewing cameras for vehicles. I finally found this one, which didn’t look like it would be too distracting or noticeable. Not only does the rear camera blend in (can’t be seen) with the vehicle, but it is overall easy to set up and start recording. You can set it up to where the camera has a screen saver (it’s a rear view mirror). That way it doesn’t throw you off. I absolutely love it! Definitely a great buy.

Great product, easy to install and does its job. Would be happier if screen brightness was better during day time since there is some reflection on the screen. Nonetheless, this was my first time installing anything in my car and had no trouble installing this camera system. Would recommend to anyone looking to add rear camera to their car. Front dash cam is an additional benefit!

Installed on a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze. Limo tint on rear window limits rear visibility at night and this helps with camera installed above license plate. Added a 128gb memory card to record everything on front and rear cameras. Came with everything needed for installation but a bigger vehicle may need an extension for rear camera. The only shortfall is the headlights from behind glares the picture on the screen.
