Customers appreciate the M2 Max Pro 4K WiFi GPS Mirror Dash Cam's excellent video quality, ease of use, and straightforward installation. Many also highlight the helpful GPS functionality and the performance of the rear camera. While some wish it included an SD card and noted limitations with night vision, the positive feedback on image clarity and user-friendliness is prominent. Your new copilot
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very cool piece of tech to keep you safe and to bear witness when somebody accuses you of something that you did not do. Now you have it on video recording and there will be little to dispute. Dash cams should be standard in every car. This is 2024 and while some cars are coming equipped with modern cameras, not every manufacturer is on board yet. Setting this up was very easy in my Jeep. I chose to direct wire it to my auxiliary switches, which took about ten minutes. I was very impressed to see that this kit came with the hardwire cable as well as a cigarette lighter plug for power. The video quality is better than my current very high-end dash cam, made by a radar detector company whom I won't mention. This will be replacing that camera very soon. I love the split display view from passenger view to rear view. The screen is ingenious as it lays over top of your existing rear view mirror. I have tried a lot of dash cams on the market and this is one of the most unique and useful approaches yet. Highly recommended.

Safety and accountability for your older ride
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THE PROBLEM I live in a major city and have encountered multiple accidents where the other party was at fault, but I was still asked to provide footage/proof of the fault. One of my cars has a built-in dash cam but for my older truck there is nothing stock that performs this function. THE SOLUTION With the Rexing M2 Max Pro I was able to self install front and rear cameras with a combo rear view mirror + screen unit. This unit helps with recording my surroundings during drives and while my vehicle is parked, adds some modern driver assistance features, and provides a back up camera which enhances my ability to drive a large vehicle safely. PROS - High quality front and rear camera recording with cabin audio when driving and parked. - Audible and visual smart driving notifications (front collision, blind spot, etc.) - Automatic reverse parking switching (when configured) CONS - Screen is hard to see during the day even at maximum brightness - Visual blind spot notifications could be more noticeable - Video download speeds via the app were slow BONUS - The position of the rear camera above the license plate also aided in hitching trailers INSTALLATION I was able to fully install this unit in about 1 hour. There are multiple considerations that you should make when installing the unit. For me having an older truck with no back up camera I made the decision for the following configuration: - 12V DC connector power since the outlet is always powered (alternative would be the smart power configuration which used 2 different connectors plugged into an always on fuse position and a on when vehicle is on fuse position so that the unit knows when the vehicle is driving or parked) - Rear camera mounted above license plate with the red wire connected to the power of the reverse lights for automatically triggering of the reverse camera mode NOTE FOR TRUCK USERS Having a truck with an extended bed, I was a little nervous about the length of the cable run I would need for the rear camera, but I had plenty of length to not only properly hide the cable inside the cabin but run the cable neatly all the way to the rear bumper. Luckily with the truck there was also a clear path into the body cavity behind the taillight housing allowing for an easy install of the reverse wire. AUTOMATIC REVERSE PARKING WIRING TIP Use online resources and/or multimeter to help identify which reverse light wire is the 12V power wire. If possible, you to want to strip and remove the insulation in the middle of the wire without putting a break in the wire. This way you can easily twist the reverse wire of the backup camera around the exposed conductor. Be sure to use electrical tape to protect your splice work. MOUNTING AND POSITIONING THE CAMERAS AND GPS I used the include adhesive and screws to secure the camera into the plastic portion of the bumper. I cleaned the inside of my windshield and installed the GPS receiver to the glass with the attached adhesive. I located the GPS next to the mirror, but it has a long enough cable to locate it somewhere else on the windshield if that is preferred. The front facing camera on the rearview mirror is on a ball swivel with a good range of motion to get it positioned perfectly while still allowing for the rearview mirror to be positioned appropriately. RECORDING PERFORMANCE First off, the unit functions wonderfully as a dash camera which is the primary purpose of this device. The footage during the day and night was clear when recording in 2.4K mode and reviewing the footage I was able to make out the key things that might be important when providing footage to insurance – car model/details, faces, and license plate numbers. If you want detection of these details at a further distance you can enable 4K recording for the front camera (rear camera is only 1080p), but this comes at the expense of disabling the smart driving features, which might not be a deal breaker if your vehicle already has those features. DISPLAY USEABILITY As a video mirror your mileage may vary. During the day even with the screen at maximum brightness it was hard to see what was happening on the screen. With the display off it functioned great as a normal mirror. My truck doesn’t have a lot of tint in the front of the cabin or windshield which might make seeing the screen more difficult for me, but I’d like to see a higher maximum brightness and the ability to automatically set a lower brightness for night time driving. The screen is usable during the day for things like parking, but with the screen not bright enough to combat the reflective nature of the mirror, it’s hard to recommend using the screen/camera for your rear view when you need to understand what is going on behind you at a quick glance. At night the mirror with the screen off seemed like my normal rearview mirror with the dimmer function switched on which is perfect for me. The camera view at night was perfectly usable since the screen didn’t have to compete with bright sunlight and the reflections. SMART DRIVING FUNCTIONS There are 3 smart driving functions: forward facing ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System, which warns of potential front collisions), RCW (Rear Collision Warning), and BSD (Blind Spot Detection). You can enable either the rear camera or front camera smart driving functions, but not both. It’s not clear if this is because the same audible warnings are used and thus would be confusing or if the device lacks the processing power to do both the front and rear warnings. I chose to enable the blind spot and rear collision warnings instead of the forward collision warning. I found that the audible sounds were very useful but would like to see a more noticeable visual notification around the perimeter of the mirror since the color gradient used is hard to distinguish from the similar color of some concrete roads/highways. SCREEN NAVIGATION AND APP FUNCTIONS The touchscreen menus were easily to navigate but I found the gestures to modify the screen brightness and vertical viewing position of the camera difficult for it to distinguish which was frustrating at times. There is a build in file explorer for searching through clips as well as buttons to take photos or start/stop the recording, additionally a mute button makes it easy to preserve passenger conversation privacy. The phone app makes it convenient to browse and download footage, though it was kind of slow to download the footage. Two 1 minute clips at 2.5K resolution took 4 minutes to download with me sitting in the driver seat. If you are downloading a lot of footage I would recommend removing the micro SD card and putting it into a PC.

I read the reviews before buying and noticed that Best Buy is baiting and switching along with deceptive practices. I bought the product and installation online for Christmas. My son took it be installed and they tell him that they charged the wrong installation online. This cost me another $80. This is deceptive business practices, because they set the price online for the product being installed. Not buying from Best Buy ever again.

Adding value to the big truck
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Rexing M2 Max Pro emerges as a compelling contender, promising a blend of advanced features, user-friendly operation, and robust performance. With its 4K front camera, 1080p rear camera, built-in GPS, and an array of driver assistance systems, it aims to provide a comprehensive solution for enhancing both safety and convenience on the road. But does it deliver on its promises? I fee like it does. I had it installed on my big flat bed 350 Ford Truck by my guys at work. Design and Installation: Seamless Integration The Rexing M2 Max Pro's design philosophy centers around seamless integration with your vehicle's existing rearview mirror, the work truck didn't have one so, all positive here. It did replace the traditional mirror with a sleek, modern unit that houses a 12-inch IPS touchscreen display and dual cameras. The installation process is relatively straightforward, I didn't do it so it was easy for me. Best I can tell its involving securing the unit over your existing mirror and connecting the rear camera to the main unit. The included wiring and mounting hardware make the process manageable for most users, although professional installation might be preferred for a cleaner look. Once installed, it blended in well with the big truck interior. The large touchscreen display is bright and responsive, providing clear access to live camera feeds, recorded footage, and settings menus. The rear camera is compact and discreet, offering a wide field of view without obstructing your rear visibility. Overall, the design and installation of the M2 Max Pro are well-executed, making it a practical and unobtrusive addition to your vehicle. Video Quality: Crisp and Detailed The front-facing camera boasts a 4K resolution, capturing stunningly clear and detailed footage of the road ahead. Even in challenging lighting conditions, the camera manages to maintain good image quality, thanks to its wide dynamic range (WDR) technology. The 1080p rear camera, while not as sharp as the front camera, still provides adequate clarity for capturing events happening behind your vehicle. The enhanced night vision capabilities of both cameras are particularly impressive. Even in low-light conditions, the footage remains relatively bright and clear, allowing you to identify license plates and other important details. The inclusion of a built-in GPS logger further enhances the M2 Max Pro's recording capabilities. It embeds location, speed, and time data into your videos, providing valuable context in the event of an incident. I don't think the car or truck you attach this thing to, your going to get one of the best Froward, Rear camera recording and navigation units on the market today. Get one soon.

High-tech touch-screen mirror dual dash cam
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Rexing - M2 Max Pro 4K WiFi GPS Mirror Dash Cam last week and finally had a chance to install it this weekend. It went into an older Toyota Corolla that did not have a backup camera or any of the safety alerting features of newer model cars. Since this dash camera system is installed over your car’s rear view mirror, you don’t have to worry about adhesive or suction cup mounts on your windshield. It is wider than most rearview mirrors which actually helps display a wider field of view, including some of your cars’ blind angles. Moreover, since it displays video from the rearview camera mounted in your license plate light area, you will always have a clear view of what’s going on behind your car, even if your rear window is blocked, say you have some tall passengers in the back seat or you have a hatchback or station wagon with lots of cargo in the trunk covering up the rear window. Installation could be a bit difficult if you’ve never routed wires through your car’s dash, trim, kick panel and trunk padding. Using the plastic car trim tool is a plus that will help you guide and route the rear camera wire all the way to the trunk and out the same path the rear license plate light wiring. The DC power cable provided was long enough to route around the windshield and dash to the 12 volt outlet for a quick test. I chose to go with the other cable provided to hard-wire it directly into the fuse box, so it’s always powered on for motion detection recordings. The front facing camera is a 4K camera recording smooth videos while the rear camera is still FHD at 1080p resolution. The picture quality on the mirror replacement touch screen is crisp in vivid colors at a resolution of 1080 x 380 pixels. The system pairs with smartphones via private Wi-Fi. A small GPS puck/antenna is also included and will provide the coordinates, date/time and the speed you’re traveling. You will have to install your own high speed, high capacity U3 microSDHC memory card for recording clips that can be viewed on your PC or smartphone. The various views and options can easily be changed with the intuitive menus and very responsive touch-screen mirror. Overall this is a quality front and rear dash cam system built into a touch screen LCD mirror at a very reasonable price, especially given all the great features it comes with. I have already recommended it to a couple of friends with older cars.

Best option on the market, two birds one stone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had other Rexing cameras as well as a few other brands, simply put the M2 Max Pro is next-level. Not only do you get an improvement on your standard review mirror (long gone are the days of packing up for a road trip and having your view obscured by items - a personal pet peeve of mine that my wife and child can attest to) but you also get the added security of a dash cam along with all the other little bells and whistles Rexing have injected into this product. Setup is straight forward for those that have had to do any sort of basic car audio/video installation; you are provided with your hardwire kit (recommend going this route) as well as a cigarette adapter. There is no SD card included like the days of yore, so you're going to need one of those if you wish to locally save/store your content. Video size for 4K adds up quick so I suggest getting something on the larger size so you aren't having to constantly offload your content to another storage device. The max supported is 256GB, so keep that in mind, too. The screen is large and picture is crystal clear. There is built-in GPS and safe driver alerts which after going through the calibration settings do an amazing job complimenting anything a new(er) vehicle already has in place, but more importantly provides these features to old(er) vehicles made at a time when such things were not even the twinkle in anyone's eyes...or only came as equipment on the priciest of brands. Things like collision sensing and blind spot monitoring are great features to have and while I'm certainly on the "people need to be better drivers and not rely on tech to handle things for them!" I also understand that in today's world everyone needs all the help they can get. So if it helps someone avoid an accident, awesome! All-in-all a no-brainer recommendation and I plan on getting more for our other vehicles!

Reliable Dashcam with Clear Video
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been very happy with my Rexing dashcam so far. The video quality is sharp during the day, and license plates are usually clear even at a distance. The wide-angle lens gives great coverage, and the G-sensor/loop recording features work reliably so I never have to worry about storage. The design is compact and discreet, and I like that I can quickly transfer clips to my phone through the app. Night footage is decent, though there can be some glare from headlights, and parking mode requires hardwiring or an extra battery pack. Overall, it’s a dependable, easy-to-use dashcam that offers strong performance for the price, and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants peace of mind on the road.

Nice dashcam with extras
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most dashcams are just a camera on your windshield that records the road and you only ever really need to interact with it when you need to check on the footage. This does all of that, but adds a rear camera and other fun tools as well. I had an older version and this one improves on that one in most ways. Pretty happy with it. Installation could be complex, depending on how you want to install it. It comes with everything you need to hardwire everything to your fuse box which takes a little bit of doing. It's not crazy hard, just time consuming to run the wires through seams and make it basically invisible. The hardwire kit plugs into two separate fuses. You'll need to find a fuse that controls something that always has power (like the door locks) and then also something that is only powered when the car is on. The "smart" hardwire kit will draw power normally only when the car is on but if you have enabled the parking monitor and a "shock" is detected, it will use the other power source to record a clip and shut down. Pretty neat stuff. Installing the rear camera can be a bit more involved depending on your vehicle and where you want to install it. Installing it outside your car near the license plate needs you to run the wire through your trunk. And then you also need to splice it onto your backup lights wire. So it's a lot of steps that aren't necessarily difficult, but aren't extremely easy either. They are very time consuming if you're installing it all yourself and you want everything hidden and looking nice. And THEN, you have a GPS module you need to also run a wire through your car to the front of your dashboard. This was the easiest part of the complete installation but still another step where you have to stuff wire under your cars panels. In lieu of hardwiring to your fusebox, you can also just use a cigarette lighter to plug in. I wouldn't recommend it but if you go this route, you have a pretty simple installation for just the front dash cam. They include two sets of rubber band straps to go around your mirror if it's a bit thicker or thinner. Setup is fairly easy after it's installed. You can go through the settings as you like to set things up. My favorite thing was the ability to turn off the screen after a time. I usually like to actually drive without the screen on (so it's basically just like a normal rearview mirror). I can always turn on the screen with a touch if I want to monitor something. This wasn't a feature in the old design. I had to manually turn off the screen every time I got in the car. The driver assist options are hit or miss to me. I found the first option that monitored the front camera to be a little weird. It takes some time to get used to what it's doing. The front camera assist tells you you're about to hit something very regularly. I didn't find it very useful. If you monitor the rear camera (which turns off the other option), you can monitor rear collisions and the side lanes. These options give you tones when things happen and it's a bit easier to tell what's going on. You get a tone when you have a car passing on the right, another tone when a car is passing on the left and another tone when someone comes to a stop behind you (maybe when it thinks they stopped too close to you). I found this option to be a bit more useful and accurate. When I heard a tone, a moment later I'd see a car passing on one of my sides. It also doesn't speak so it felt less annoying than the front camera option. It would be cool to be able to use all of the options together but if I have to choose, I'm keeping the lane monitoring over anything. Captured footage looks good. You can set the capture to 4K, 1440p (2K) or 1080p. I found the default setting of 1440p to be pretty good and I had a smaller 32GB memory card so I feel like it's a better option for me to hold more recordings. Recordings loop around and start deleting old footage when it fills up. You can press a button to lock the current/last clip so it won't get deleted. There's also an app you can use to connect to the dashcam via wifi. It's a bit cumbersome of a connection process but you can then view the footage from there if you want. There's also an app that lets you play back the GPS recordings of your trips. I prefer to just watch a clip back on the mirror itself. You can pop the SD Card out to view/save everything on your computer as well if you want to go that route. Overall, I'm a big fan of these dashcams. I have an older car that doesn't come with a backup camera and a big screen already, so this kind of fills in for that for me. Installation might take some time to get it to look nice with all of the wires hidden, but when it's done and you never have to think about it again, it's so much nicer than needing to plug in to a lighter outlet every time you get in the car or have cables dangling all over the place. If you need a dashcam and don't already have a backup camera in your car and would like something that can just blend in and look like it's part of your car, this is a good option. I'm a fan.

Great Mirror Dash Cam
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don't have a dash cam in your car right now, you are doing yourself a disservice by not having one. With roads being more and more packed every day, people tend to get crazy and do dumb things. This is why I have to have a dash cam in all of my vehicles. Last year, my wife and I were involved in a hit and run accident. Having a dash cam really saved our behinds because were able to capture it all on video, including the guys license plate. It made coverage so much easier for us. Rexing, being a leader in the dash cam world, is one of my favorite dash cam manufacturers. So, when the opportunity came up to get my hands on the Rexing - M2 Max Pro 4K WiFi GPS Mirror Dash Cam, I had to go fot it. I myself like the mirror style dash cam, but also have the windshield style cams. The M2 Max Pro 4k is really a great dash cam and I love that they went with 4k camera options. I think all dash cams should be 4k now since the technology is more readily available and is becoming more affordable. Installation is a breeze with the Rexing - M2 Max Pro 4K WiFi GPS Mirror Dash Cam. Just mount it on the mirror, wire it in, and you are good to go. The hardwiring part may seem scary to many, but it isn't. You get just about everything you need to tap into an existing power source on your vehicle. All you need to connect are the ground wire, and the power wire (using a fuse tap). It's super simple. The next item for installation is running the rear cam. With a little time and patience, you'll have that installed in a matter of minutes. Tuck the wire along the moldings of your car using an interior tool and you are set and done. The video quality is great and the setup was not bad. I like the split view design to keep watch of everything. I would highly recommend the Rexing - M2 Max Pro 4K WiFi GPS Mirror Dash Cam to anyone.

The night vision is also impressive, ensuring clear footage even in low-light conditions. Great camera and display!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation of this camera wasn't too bad but the kit comes with what you need to install it. Once installed, setup of this dash cam is pretty easy. This particular one is jam packed with features that I think are pretty useful so far and a great enhancement to my car as it doesn't have some of the same features built in like the lane departure warning and the collision warning with the rear camera. Video quality is great and the 4k footage is solid, I just went on a road trip and I think it's cool that I can go back through that trip and grab some of the road footage from the trip. Downloading the videos was pretty easy through the app and the wifi connection to the camera, which honestly makes it so much easier than popping out the microsd card, though you can do that too. The backup camera works good and I really like the parking mode. I haven't yet caught anything touching the car enough to make it record (other than me purposely doing it to see if it works, and yes it does). If you don't have a dash cam, I have found not only does it enhance safety but it's just cool to have and this one is great! I'd definitely recommend it!

Awesome dash cam system!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Rexing M2 Max Pro is an excellent dash cam. The best thing you can get for your vehicle to protect yourself from false claims, or litigation, is a dash cam. The M2 max Pro is definitely up to the task. The M2 has a beautiful and crisp 12" IPS touch screen mirror which works very well. You'll get tons of features including, rear collision warning, blind spot detection and even 24 hour parking mode if wired appropriately. The biggest thing here is going to be getting the camera installed. If you take your time and watch some videos it shouldn't take too long. You will definitely want to make sure you are tapping into the correct fuses to wire this properly. There are videos out there that show how to do this and I strongly recommend you do your research. Running the wires is straightforward and shouldn't be too tricky. Once it's all done, you will be glad you made the effort to install this dash cam. Small price to pay for that extra piece of mind while out on the road. This is great dash cam system and I certainly recommend you pick this one up.

Rear view camera + Mirror. Easy to use with quirks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.tl;dr A solid choice with a few quirks. It has a lot of promise, but misses the mark. One of the challenges in mounting a dash cam is putting it in a place that’s visible to the driver without getting in the way of anything else. Rexing solved this by making the camera into the rear view mirror. The unit will work as a mirror when the power is off, if for some reason the rear facing camera fails. It’s designed, however, that the rear camera replaces the functionality of a rear view mirror. A nice aspect of this set up is a wider angle view from the rear than you’ll get with a standard mirror. This gives you a view of cars in the adjacent lanes when they would otherwise be in your blind spot. The camera has some smarts built in which will also warn the driver if there are cars in the blind spot. The downside of this approach is that vehicles behind you appear closer than they are. If you don’t otherwise have a back up camera built into your car, this can be very confusing. The car I installed it in, a Honda CR-V has a camera that has distance lines to provide perspective. The Rexing camera doesn’t have that capability since the makers don’t know where in the car the camera will be installed. There were a few wrinkles I had with installation: First, the camera comes with a fuse power interconnection which should make creating a dedicated power source easy. Unfortunately, there’s only one size plug the camera comes with. Even though my car passed the compatibility test on Best Buy’s website, the plug to fit in the fuse box was too big for my car. The camera comes with an accessory power plug as well (cigarette lighter adapter), so I was still able to get it installed. Second, In order for the camera to have a good view of the road, it has to slide past the left side of my car’s mirror. This then interferes with the sun visor. When I needed to pull it down, it blocked part of the camera display / rear view mirror. Lastly, it’s slightly annoying that the GPS receiver is a separate unit. Given he size of the display, I’m surprised Rexing couldn’t fit the sensor inside the unit to make installation easier. I now have a bundle of wire I have to try to tie up to something. As a rear view mirror, I certainly appreciated the camera’s capabilities. I didn't have to worry about seeing past taller people in the backseat or when I had the tailgate area fully loaded. The picture was crisp and it was easy to understand what was going on behind me at a glance. While I don't fully load the tailgate all that often, it's nice to have that as an option. Because the display is significantly wider than the camera’s pickup you can scroll the rear view up and down easily by sliding your finger on the screen. Sliding your finger can also control brightness as well as quickly switch between the front view, review, or both together. The Rexing camera has a companion app. The app is supposed to let you select videos and pictures take from the camera. This can be useful if you need to make a case for an insurance claim. Unfortunately, I was never able to get the videos to play on my phone. I could see the thumbnails, so I’m sure the videos were recorded. I was also able to see them on the Sd card which I had installed. The picture quality is fairly decent, even at night. There are separate video files for the front camera and the back camera. They can be viewed and downloaded separately, as needed. When played directly, the video files have an overlay showing GPS coordinates and speed. The front camera captures and records at 4K (3840 x 2160). The rear camera records at full HD (1920x1080). The front camera is noticeably clearer. During the day license plates and street signs are clearly visible in freeze frames. At night, license plates can’t be seen, but highway signs are still clear. Overall, the idea of a rear view mirror camera is a good one. Aside from the few quirks, this is a solid camera with a good picture and easy to use menus. There are certainly some things which could be better about this, such as the GPS receiver. At the right price, this can be a solid choice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from RexingUSA
