I recently purchased a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and wanted to add a little more protection just in case of an accident. Installation was easy. I mounted the front dashcam in front of the rearview mirror. I can't see it while I'm driving except for the controls. Obviously, I didn't want to be distracted but a quick glance will show the unit is working.
The included tool was helpful in hiding the wires through the ceiling, down the windshield molding, through the glove box and to the power plug. IMPORTANT: I didn't use the included 12 volt plug. I need all the ports for charging devices so I used a 12-volt to dual USB splitter to run power to the dashcam and phone charging cable. See attached photo.
I ran the rear camera wires also through the roof, door molding and through back to the top of the rear window. Total installation time might have been 20 minutes tops and looks professional.
I would suggest getting a high endurance microsd card. The summer heat inside a parked car might cause reliability issues with standard cards. They're the same price and are meant for high recording/erasing useage
The only CON I can see is the adhesive attaching the unit to the windshield. With the high heat, it's fallen twice. It's easy enough the press it back on, but I think I'll get the suction cup holder soon.
So far, it's working and I hope to never have to use the footage to file a claim. I'll post updates as needed.

I got it coz the reviews, one hour after got my new car, easy to install, amazing quality. One week after a bike intentionally jump into my front and played as a victim, I went off the car, help him to stand and get into my car to take him to hospital for check, one block after he asked, are u recording me? I said yes always! He literally said, I feel better, leave me here, I’m feel fine, I’ll walk to my bike, LITERALLY THIS CAMERA SAVED ME FROM AN EXPENSIVE LEGAL PROCESS. Could u imagine ?!

This is my first foray into dash cams. I was always turned away by having to attach something to my windshield and have wires sprawled about my car and having my outlet being used 100% of the time.
I normally only use electronics made by companies I've heard of, or heard things about. I've never heard of Rexing. I was a bit skeptical. The device itself is well made, with lots of buttons (that weren't too confusing) but at the same time, the design seems outdated. It's not bulky, but it's bigger than other dash cams I've seen and bigger than a GoPro. But again, it's well thought out and that's what counts.
You can easily tilt the lens while keeping the device up against your windshield. The screen is nice and bright, although after using it a few times, you kind of forget it's there and it becomes no big deal.
It comes with ample cable length to hide them in the interior. As I stated, one of my big gripes was having cables going every which way in my car. The power cable for the main unit, and the one for the rear camera are plenty long. I was able to use the included orange tool (I'm honestly not sure what it's for, but I used it to wedge the wires in the interior molding). It took a little time, but it was so worth it. Now I have the camera on my windshield and virtually all of the wires hidden.
The instruction manual is extremely useful and easy to understand. I generally don't study manuals but this one I did so I could better understand how to set up the dash cam. Having an easy to understand instruction manual was a plus. It walks you through the numerous buttons on the main camera. This is necessary since their is no touch screen (non-touchscreens actually feel nonintuitive these days).
Once everything was set up I was extremely pleased with the performance. One of the most important things you need in a dash cam (in my humble opinion) is quick start up time. This baby fired up and started recording almost immediately; within seconds. Mine is set to record in three minute clips (on 32 GB card, once it's full, it rewrites everything). I effectively save about 3 hours of video at any given time. That's more than enough should you decide you need any of the footage.
I haven't been in a wreck, so I can't comment on any of the emergency features, such as change in gravity or recording in an emergency with loss of power, but I did review the footage on my computer and was surprised with the quality. This is full HD, not old grainy footage from the show COPS.
My big gripe is the sticky adhesive used to mount it to the dashboard. The device itself is supposed to endure high temperatures. While I parked my car in the hot sun (in KY mind you, not AZ) the adhesive came undone and when I got back to my car the main camera was dangling from the cord. Luckily I pout it back on to the same adhesive pad and haven't had any other issues, I know it's a matter of time. And while I'm sure I could find another adhesive pad, I feel like I'm going to be having the same issue again. What I would have preferred was a suction cup mount. I'm sure it would add to the bulk (at least the distance the camera comes off the windshield) but it would have been a better long term option in my opinion.
All in all, this is a well thought out dash cam, especially regarding its features and design. I only wish it had a better long term mounting system so it doesn't come off the windshield on a hot day. And most importantly, the footage quality is great.

This is the second dash cam I have owned and after a few weeks of using it, I am very pleased with it. The three main strengths found with the Rexing V1P dash cam is that it is extremely easy to install, recorded video/audio is excellent quality, and works effortlessly on its own.
The dash cam is very lightweight and made of durable plastic.
INSTALLATION: The kit includes all the required hardware and cables to complete the installation. All cables are long enough for all vehicles -the rear camera extension cable is over 18 ft long. Depending on your vehicle, tools may not be necessary. Nylon cable ties might be used to tie the cables underneath the dashboard to avoid them dangling down. I ran the wires on the side of the car without any issue, I attached the rear camera from the inside of the hatchback door. Once the installation is complete, the buttons on the sides turn the lens up and down to adjust them for the best angle.
RECORDING: Inserting and formatting the memory card was easy to setup; Rexing recommends a “High-endurance” Micro SD Card. It does loop recordings, once the memory is full it records over the prior recordings. It has a collision sensor to prevent images captured during the collision from being deleted. The camera records at a wide field of view and the quality is perfect. In case you are in an accident, you want good images as evidence. Rexing cam produces good quality images. Saving money on a cheap camera will cost you more when you lose a case in an accident for not have quality images. This is the main purpose of a dash cam. It can be used to file a claim with the insurance company.
WORKS PERFECTLY: The Rexing dash cam records everything in front and rear of a vehicle. The rear cam isn’t as a high resolution as the front camera but it is good enough to record vehicles behind. I connected the dash cam to my computer using the included USB cable to playback the video recorded. The front and the back camera videos are stored in chronological order and in separate files.
Overall, I am satisfied with this product, if I am in an accident it would be very valuable. I highly recommend this a dash cam to be installed in all vehicles. This product could save you money.

For a budget dash cam, the Rexing V1P does an amazing job compared to other dash cams in the market that are priced double to triple the price of the Rexing. High definition 1080 resolution and dual camera are my must-haves and this dash cam does the trick.
Pros:
• High quality videos (even at night)
• Great price
• Comes with review screen
• Comes with an awesome plastic pry tool
Cons:
• Doesn’t come with memory card
• Too short of a cable for the rear camera for SUVs
• No WiFi
• Not the sleekest looking webcam in the market
• 2nd rear camera’s resolution is horrible
Installation was straightforward but time consuming if you want to cleanly tuck all your cables in. I’m currently using the provided cigarette lighter power cable but may want the hardwire kit that Best Buy sells for a cleaner install. The rear camera was a little tougher to install as I had to route the rear camera wire through the entire car. I was about 6ft short in cable but luckily this can be remedied with a 3.5mm extension cable. The provided rear camera cable might be long enough for cars but was short for my Rav4.
I did have to purchase a micro SD memory card before I could begin. No big deal as these are around $30 for the recommended “heavy duty” 68GB card to bear the heat of the summer sun. Hidden cost but still under $200 for the total package. I disliked the provided foam tape for the mount so I purchased a Rexing windshield suction cup mount instead and that’s been working great.
Operation is really easy and is totally hands off when you have it all setup to your liking. The default settings will get you started right away but changing some of the features will customize your experience. The dash cam will automatically start recording when you power on the car and the cigarette lighter gets powered. It will also automatically stop recording and power off when you turn the car off. The power off delay can be set longer so it can still record even with no power. The short built in battery life is really for the delayed power off and for reviewing your recordings when not plugged in.
I’m very satisfied with the overall quality and the ease of use. It’s a dash cam that you set it once and forget it. It will automatically record and loop over your old recordings once you run out of room on your memory card. The built in screen is nice to check your camera aim and to review menus and past recordings. However, the viewing angle of the built in screen is atrocious. I do wish that it came with Wifi or Bluetooth so I can transfer the recordings to my phone but hey, what do you expect at this price point? In order to get the videos out, you have to pull out the memory card and transfer it to your computer the old fashion way. No big deal since I wouldn’t really need to save to my laptop unless if it was an accident.

It’s 2018 and despite the state laws forbidding mobile devices, we see those who think that the laws don’t apply to them or “but I drive better when I’m on my phone”.
There is also the threat of drunk drivers and the everyday inept driver that suddenly changes lanes without realizing that they’re about to crash into us.
I couldn’t wait to install my Rexing Dash Cam knowing that I am secure with video evidence in case I am involved in a collision that comes down to statements from the drivers.
The device is easy to install and isn’t overwhelming with the user interface. The wires that connect both the dash camera and the rear camera can be easily tucked into the vehicle ‘linning’. Rexing also provides several wire hooks in case you might have issues with hiding the camera wires. I was seriously impressed when I reviewed the video from a test drive that I did. It’s high def quality with a wide angle of vision.
The display is clear and isn’t distracting at all. What I like is that I have the option to take a quick photo capture or simply save a recording if I desire. There’s peace of mind in knowing there’s video evidence if an unfortunate accident occurs. I wish that I had this dash cam last year when a driver who was leaning down, not looking at the road had slammed into me. Despite my testimony stating that the driver was speeding and not watching the road, the officer said that ‘there wasn’t any evidence’ to support my claim. You can see why I am relishing this dash camera. Accessing the rear camera point of view is easy with the press of a button. At night on my way home, I sometimes get an aggressive driver that is speeding, riding my tail with their brights on. Now I know if someone hits me from behind, I have their plate number and visual evidence of the driver. If I’m ever hit again, I cannot wait to show the video evidence.
If you want to protect yourself and potentially other drivers then get the Rexing Dash Camera.

So far, it appears to be a good camera, but it has other issues. When the temperature outside exceeds 80 F, the glue tape loses its bond with the plastic clip that attaches to the window.
The rear window camera's glue tape comes loose from the window when I use the rear window defroster. I do not know how something like this could have been overlooked by the manufacturer.

As far as dashcams goes, you can't go wrong with the Rexing V1P. It is reasonably priced and preforms its job about as well as you expect it to. What puts it above cheaper dashcams is its ease of use and functionality.
Nowadays, it is crucial to have a dashcam and not having one puts you at a disadvantage when getting into accidents. What I like the most about this dashcam is how easy it is to playback your footage. In my previous cheaper dashcam, there were only 3 buttons and attempting to playback footage was a nightmare. Why this is so important for me is because if you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to prove your case, you won't be panicking while trying to work out your dashcam that you probably only used once or twice. With the Rexing, I am in the playback mode after 3 clicks of one button, and have 3 other buttons to control which clip to see. The footage is small, so don't expect to read any license numbers from it easily. You would have to load it onto a larger screen for that. As far as that is concerned, this dashcam is able to capture license numbers from about a car's length away. It might not sound like much, but it is enough for any hit and runs you might encounter.
The rear view camera is decent. However, the resolution from it is half the quality of the front. This is ok, since you don't need a rear view as much as the front. I had a very hard time getting license plates from the rear view camera because the resolution was so bad. Footage captured by the two cameras combined took roughly 568MB of space. This means that given a 32GB card, you can record about 288 minutes of footage. Depending on the user, for most people this is more than enough.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this dashcam. If you do plan to purchase this, remember to plan ahead how you are going to manage the wires. You might also want to purchase a suction cup mount if you don't want to use their provided 3M foam tape.

When I first ordered the Rexing V1P was a bit concerned about the effort it would take to wire it into the car without wires hanging out, which is not cool. Surprised to find that I had the front camera installed and wired easily within 30 minutes. Discovered that the wires easily slide into the car fittings and found a path through the back of my glove box.
Camera set up is simple, especially if you read the user guide first and take it step by step. There is an omission in the guide for connecting the camera to a PC with the USB. At this step simply select “Mass Storage” on the camera menu after plugging the camera to a PC via USB (cable included) by pushing the OK button.
Menus are straight forward and setting up the camera to your preferences is rather easy and takes very little time and effort.
The videos from the front camera are HD Fish Eye wide view (170 degree) with excellent color. Night driving has good results with picking up the lower lighting outside. Highly satisfied with the video quality.
After two days of driving my regular errands/routes have used about fifty percent of a 32gb card. The camera by default records on a loop, when it is full it will start writing over the oldest files.
The camera does not include Wi-Fi or an APP to mange via mobile, that seems a bit shortsighted as almost all gadgets today (including my washing machine) can connect Wi-Fi. Would make it much easier to download any file(s) you may want or require rather than removing the camera and totting to your computer. Another small nitpick is the charging plug for the car outlet is rather large and I do not like the bright red light. That I will simply cover with an alternate color/paint.
It is quite nicely loaded with all the functions/tech you will need to record video as you drive, and it does an excellent job. The audio recording is quite good as well, this function can be turned off for privacy purposes.
One aspect I like is that it is small and discreet, does not present any issues with blocking your full view of the road and does not standout for any prying eyes of people who be tempted to borrow your unit.
All in all, a good unit which sits quietly out of mind and out of sight and records your travels

I never would have thought to purchase a dash cam, but I needed to find something useful to use up a bunch of Best Buy rewards points I had earned after upgrading the audio/video equipment in my car. It made sense to use the points on the dash cam, installation, and protection because the dash cam would only add to other upgrades I had already done. I now realize that the dash cam should have been something I was considering as part of the original upgrade. I did my research and determined I wanted to get a dash cam that included a rear camera as well. The Rexing V1 with rear camera had all the options I was looking for in a good price range. I had it installed by Geek Squad and also got the hard-wire kit The original installation was done using the included adhesive pads. As nearly every other reviewer stated, those things WILL lose their grip due to the amount of heat that's generated in most cars from them sitting in the sun. The rear view camera adhesive pad failed first (a few days after install). The front camera adhesive pad failed after about a week. Thankfully I had already ordered a mirror mount that's going to be installed by Geek Squad once it gets in. They're also going to screw the rear camera into the a solid part of the car interior to ensure it stays in place. The setup was really simple, and the menu options are pretty simple to understand. I was off recording audio and video after loading and formatting a 128gb micro sd card. I'm waiting on a 64gb high endurance micro sd card I ordered as a lot of reviews I read suggest using the high endurance micro sd cards for dash cams to be able to handle the constant writing and rewriting. So far I'm satisfied with the quality of the video and audio of both the front and rear cameras. The video quality on both is good enough to get an accurate visual record of what's going on around you. I don't know that I can necessarily read license plates of cars passing by, but I can see enough to be able to have a visual record of relevant information such as the make/model/color of the cars around me, street signs, and other things. The audio is a pretty cool feature because now my videos have a soundtrack to them based on whatever I'm listening to in the sound system. It's also really good at recording the audio of conversations in the car. The benefits I've noticed so far is that I can now go back and watch/save videos of various "endeavors" I may partake in while driving. Not that I've gotten into any races with other cars or anything. As far as protection benefits, it's nice to know that God forbid if I'm involved in any accidents or anything then I know I'll have video/audio evidence of what happened. I was the victim of a hit-and-run in my vehicle last year, and having a dash cam would have made the process so much simpler than the other methods I had to take to address the matter. Another protection benefit I've seen already is that I had video footage of how the dealership treated my car during an oil change this week. Thankfully there was no crazy driving or anything (he did keep turning up the sound system, but that's what it's there for so I'm not tripping), but I did get video/audio of the manager chewing out the tech for having a bad attitude. This all made sense once I got my car back and realized the tech hadn't done several of the things that were supposed to be included in the oil change. Dash cams are a simple investment with a ton of benefits, and the Rexing V1 with rear camera is a good option with a ton of features at a good price. Hope this helps. Thanks. Matthew 7:12

This camera works great. It's has loop mode, saves clips in the event of a crash, good quality front camera, and easy to use. The rear camera isn't very quality looking, but gets the job done.
The problems I ran into was the LACK of PARKING MODE. It's the mode that will record if someone hits your vehicle when it's off and parked in a lot or wherever. They did have it in the past, but for some reason removed it, and to me that's reverse progress. The camera works well in high heat, but the sticky tape that they supply can't handle that said heat and you might find your camera on the floor (like I did) or dangling by the cord due to the tape coming loose. The customer service at the company isn't very good, and when I emailed them they gave me very limited answers with no help to me at all. It seems they don't care what YOU want, but only what THEY think you want...and that's poor business practices.
Overall it's well made for the price, but there are better options for a little more money. I guess it depends how much you care about the options or quality of the camera. If all around protection of your vehicle is important, BUY SOMETHING ELSE. Otherwise this works good for what it is.

I got this camera to replace a dash cam from another brand that kept overheating and shutting down. I have been using this one for a week and a half and so far it is holding up very well to the summer heat! No over heating, random resetting or shutting off while driving. The picture quality is excellent and much more clear then my first dashcam.
The only negative I have and the only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that the included adhesive that mounts the front camera to the dash will not hold the camera when the vehicle interior gets up to 90+ degrees during the day. You may need a new method to mount it to your windshield. If this adhesive worked with no problems out of the box, I would give this camera 5 stars!

I like the quality of the camera. I brought two for my parents. You do have to install a file in order to use. It might not be good for those who can't use a computer because you are expected to install and update firmware. Wires were faulty, but taken care of by the Rexing Rep. You do have to buy a separate SD card. I gave it a 3 stars because I have to replace the wires, and it took longer then i thought to ready the dashcam for my parents. I have to wait for the replacement, which was a bummer.

I bought this dash cam after owning many others because I wanted a dash cam that would record both the front and back views. It was easy to install and the tool to assist with hiding the cords was helpful. Both cams are mounted using adhesive tape instead of a suction cup so you better get it right the first time since there is no second adhesive included. You can order a suction cup or additional adhesive from the manufacturer. The cord to the back camera was plenty long. One thing I can't figure out is a switch on the second cam. It doesn't appear to do anything whether switched to the left or the right. The clarity and wide view of the main cam is excellent. The clarity of the second cam is horrible which is very disappointing. Each camera produces a separate file and are differentiated by the size of the file icon. The larger file icon is the front camera and the smaller one is the second camera, which I find helpful. Another challenge is using the 12v plug-in since mine stays on whether the car is running or not so I have to manually turn it on and off each time. I'll have to order the hardwire kit so it will turn on when the car starts. The Rexing website says to watch the video on how to install it but there is no video. For the money it's probably a good value but if I could do it again, I would consider spending more money on a better quality system so both cameras are clear.

The front (main) has some of the best video quality I have seen from dash cams. The mic can pick up all sounds. I’ve had to use this already with an incident. The back has a bit below average video quality and for some cars, you’ll have to get creative in order to mount it properly. However, you never know if it’ll come in handy.

Purchased this camera just before a cross country road trip for safety. Routing the wires took some effort, however the instructions were clear. This task will require a little ingenuity (based on your interior). Once installed, the camera functioned as described; I adjusted the camera angles and color balance, etc. shortly after beginning the trip and recording was clearer. Key negative was the double-sided adhesive tape provided with the camera. First, there weren't sufficient smaller tabs used for attaching the wire in spots around the interior. Second, the adhesive portion supplied to attach the camera(a) to the windshield and rear window didn't last long. After 2 days of summer (August) driving, both the front and rear cameras didn't remain attached. I ended up purchasing some 3M adhesive strips to reattach both cameras and that got us through the trip. Otherwise, the product performed as advertised. Would recommend using a stronger adhesive product from the beginning to save yourself some time.

Camera kit is complete with main camera, rear camera, charging cord, cigarette lighter type power cord and 16' rear camera power cord, stick on clips if necessary and a very handy plastic trim tool to hide wire under trim work. I installed this Rexing V1P camera in my 2018 Wrangler JLU in about an hour. It replaced an inexpensive forward camera . This works great. Terrific quality video. Micro SD card not included.

Been looking at dash cams and settled on the Rexing based on features and reviews. I haven’t connected rear camera yet but will soon.
Easy installation except for mount but more on that further down. All the features are easy to use. Instructions are simple. I am using a SanDisk 128k Ultra Plus micro SD card. Videos are sharp and clear. Holds a lot of recordings.
The mounting kit includes two sided tape which failed in first hour. I live in Phoenix so heat is a factor. I ended up attaching a male radar detector mount with 2 suction cups to camera mount. Works perfect. Still can easily remove camera as designed if I want to secure camera. I think if the manufacturer went to this type of mount all attachment issues would be solved. You can buy the male radar detector with suction cups on Amazon.
In summary, great dash cam, great video, easy to use.
