I've tried a few dash cams in the past and found the quality to be unusable. This dash cam has extremely sharp 1080p video. I thought the video would be shaky as I was driving, but the motion is very smooth and fluid reminiscent of the Hyperlapse App. The video at night is bright and details are clear. The rear camera is only 640x480 but still good enough for viewing. The cam is well made and doesn't feel flimsy. I bought a 64Gb High Endurance Micro SD Card which will give me 10 hours of 1080p video or 12 hours of 720p video. I thought installing the wires around the car for power and the rear camera would be tough but using the little tool they included made the installation a breeze. One problem I found is when using the adhesive mount that comes with the cam, the screen is dark due to the angle of the screen. If you bend down and look up at it, it is normal brightness. I contacted the company to find out if there is a way to brighten the screen and was told that the screen was not intended to be viewed while driving. That makes using the rear view camera really worthless. My solution was to buy the suction cup mount from Rexing and then I was able to adjust the angle of the camera and the screen so I could view the screen when backing up. All in all, I am very happy with this dash cam.

The sticker attaches between the dash cam and the windshield is not good. They noy stick together if you put your car under the sun.

Great picture and quality easy to install yourself

This is a nice little camera. Great image quality from the front camera, the resolution of the rear camera is alright, not great, but adequate. Installation of the front camera took about 10 minutes. Finding the optimal position in my car took a bit longer than it probably should have. An additional 20 minutes were needed to install the rear camera. Overall installation was fairly simple. This camera does not come with the suction cup mount, which would have definitely made finding the optimal position much much easier. Overall this is a nice camera for the price and I would happily recommend to a friend.

I purchased this because the cam it’s self is fairly hidden and unobtrusive. The tape used to hold the camera in place melted in the sun on day 1. Camera is dangling when I got back in the car. The buttons are hard to navigate the menu system. Just a poor design.

I've been using this cam for little over a week now and so far it hasn't disappointed me. It does the job as intended with little to no user intervention. Installation was easy if you know what you are doing. I've been doing a lot of upgrades to my car, so I didn't have much trouble installing it. It works great in the day time but at night, its not really very good as compared to the day time. That's the reason I took off one star. The cam can be mounted inside the windshield, I have it behind my rear view mirror to avoid any outward visibility. Set up was breeze but you do have to play with the exposure to get the recording right, otherwise the glare can wash out the scene. Controls are well laid out and are easy to use. It has a wide angle view which helps capture more area. The cam supports up to 128 GB SD card. The amount of data you can save will obviously depend on the quality of video you want to store. 1080p will take more space than 720p. The rear camera that shoots 640x480, that means even the license plates from cars right behind you are not readable. I would suggest using a 128 GB card, so you don't worry about running out of space too quickly. However, when you reach the limit of your SD card, the cam will automatically start recording over the previously recorded data. The good thing about this cam is that it will automatically save the video in case of collision. Overall, I am completely satisfied with this setup and will definitely recommend it to everyone.

This product isn’t working as they described....!!

I've had a couple of cheaper dash cams before that worked okay, but this appears to be of much higher quality. The smaller rear view camera is also a nice, new feature although you'll need tuck the cable away in your car's trim. This quality camera system seems geared towards a permanent installation, so the time it takes to get the cables run correctly should be worth it. You'll need to buy a micro SD card to use with it, and you'll definitely want to check out the "Choosing a memory card" blog page at rexingusa.com to get the latest advice. They have a SanDisk "High endurance video monitoring" card that's recommended. Since the camera is constantly recording (writing) to the SD card, it's very important the card has the right specs to support this. There are many cheaper cards out there that look the same, but will quickly fail when used in a constantly recording camera like this. I have two cars that I use for commuting (I drive about 140 miles round trip each day), so I chose not to use the adhesive mounts that came with the camera. I believe there's a suction cup mounting option, but I went with small 3M velcro strips so I can easily switch cars, or just remove it from the car when not in use so it's not baking in the summer heat. One thing I really like about this camera is it's very small and mounts snugly against the windshield. I put it behind the rear view mirror and it doesn't obstruct any more of my view. The video quality appears to be excellent with a wide field of view. I also like the idea that it has a g-sensor so if (heaven forbid) I'm ever in a wreck it'll automatically lock and save the video. One extra option I'd recommend is the hard-wire kit so you can power it directly without using the cigarette adapter. Like others have mentioned, I prefer to keep those precious power outlets available for other devices. Overall, I think I'm really going to like having this dash cam. Hopefully, though, I'll never need to review any footage!

My wife works for a local auto parts store, which has a very small parking lot. Being that it is always pretty busy there, cars are constantly being hit. My wife and I decided that we would try the Rexing - V1P Dash Cam, which also has a rear view camera. The installation of the cameras was simple. It comes with clips to run the rear view camera all the way to the back, so no worries there. They also provide a tool so that you can mount the wires behind the panels for a much cleaner install. The setup was very simple, and I had it up an running in no time. The video quality is great. The camera has a display where you can play back video. If you are in the market for a dash cam, I would highly recommend the Rexing - V1P Dash Cam.

I spent quite a bit on this camera but after taking it home it refused to charge. I had to take it back for refund.

This thing it is to big and not friendly at all, the way it sets in my windshield I was not able to see the screen I have to take it off and go to the settings, I give this camera A- rating, espend $ 10 more and you get a good camera you can use down load a app for phone

As dashcams go, this is one of the better ones I've played with. While the unit itself is rather large, it does feel sturdy and is likely to hold up well against the sun as it lives in your windshield. It comes very well packaged, which is an indication that it's a cut above the cheaper cameras out there. Installation of the main unit is easy. Just mount it in the windshield and plug it into your lighter port. Once set up (and you throw a memory card in it!) it turns on and off automatically with the car. There's a knob on one side to allow you to angle the camera for the best view once it's in the windshield. The secondary, rear-facing camera is a little more difficult to install. The cable plugs into the main unit. You simply run it to the back window and mount the camera there. The tricky part is hiding the loooong cable going to the back. I chose to run it down a pillar and through some of the floor trim. How you do it is up to you, obviously, but a nice clean install will take a couple hours of trial and error. Video quality is very good. While you're not likely to read a license plate in a distance, it is probably going to save you some hassle in court in case of an accident. Or cause more if the accident is your fault. Night performance is surprisingly good and street light and headlamps are enough to produce a usable picture.

I wanted to add a bit more protection when I bought my new car. It already has an alarm and a dashcam seemed like the logical step. For the money, the Rexing had both front and back cameras and it was an easy choice along with many positive reviews. Installation was easy and took only 10 minutes! The wires were long enough. The double-sided tape was sticky enough and everything I needed to get up and running was in the box. The included tool let me hide the wires around the windshield, down the side panel, and through the glovebox to the outlet. I had to repurpose an SD card from an old phone as it didn't come with a microsd card. I did order a high-endurance Sandisk in the meantime. It's summer here in NJ and wanted something that would withstand the 100+ degree car interior. I turned on the ignition and no issues! Set the date, formatted the card and looked at the screen. Saw what was in front and back of my car. So far, it's working as I expected. I have the front camera mounted behind the rearview mirror and it's not easily seen. I did that intentionally so I wouldn't be tempted to look at it while diving. I'll check it before I pull out and occasionally while at a light to make sure it's working properly. So far it's been working perfectly. Hopefully, I'll never need to give the footage to my insurance company let alone get into an accident. I'll update as things happen such as errors, sd card errors, bad wires (if any) and things like that

Overall I think this dash cam does what it sets out to do. Record to keep you safe from fraud. There are a few things I wish where a little better such as the resolution of the rear facing camera. It would be nice if it at least matched that of the main camera. Also it would be nice if there was some sort of built in storage instead of the requirement to have an external SD card. It would be great if you could record loops to the device and then transfer them to an SD card in the event that it is needed. Otherwise the camera works as intended. One other note would be that maybe they could include a better grade of 3m double sided to adhere to the window. What comes in the box works but in a hot car it was difficult to get it to stick properly.
