I had this dash cam installed at Best Buy. Installation was great however I can’t say the same about this unit. It does record but getting it to playback is a chore to say the least! The tiny slot for the micro SD card is located in a bad spot to remove and reinstall it. The software download from the company is basic to say the least. I would not recommend using this model. I’m checking to see if I can exchange this for a different brand!

My two cents about the new dash cam

Downside: hard to get the micro SD out, and the screen is a bit small. The good thing about it is the design of it, and it is not sticking out and hanging from the windshield and has a flat nice look. Overall is an average dash cam among thousands more in the market.

Testing the Rexing V1P Flex X4 4K WiFi Dual Dash Cam has been an enjoyable experience. This is my second Rexing product, and I believe this model surpasses the first one I had. As someone who prioritizes both my safety and that of my family, I approached this dash cam with high hopes, particularly given its impressive features and numerous positive reviews. I’m excited to share my insights on the installation, functionality, and overall performance of this device, along with some drawbacks I encountered along the way. When I first unboxed the Rexing V1P Flex X4, I was immediately noticed its sleek design. Unlike some of the bulkier dash cams that can feel obtrusive, the V1P Flex X4 boasts a streamlined appearance that fits seamlessly with my car’s interior. It features both a front-facing and a rear camera, providing comprehensive coverage of the road ahead and what’s happening behind. The build quality feels robust and gives the impression of durability—an essential characteristic for any device meant to capture footage in various driving conditions. The installation process was relatively easy. The dash cam comes with a magnetic mount, which I found particularly useful since I often prefer to remove the camera when parking long-term for travel to avoid break-ins. This feature made it simple to adjust the camera's angle without the hassle of adhesive mounts. After securing it in the best position, I plugged it into my vehicle’s power outlet, and it powered on right away. The user manual was clear, and within minutes, I was ready to hit the road. Although some users mentioned that hardwiring the device could enhance functionality, especially for the parking mode, I initially opted for the simpler plug-and-play approach to see how it performed out of the box. Once I began driving, I was eager to explore the recording capabilities of the V1P Flex X4. The 4K Ultra HD resolution is impressive, and the wide-angle view captured more detail than I anticipated, whether during the day or at night. I was particularly impressed by how well it recorded the intricacies of the road, including nearby license plates, road signs, and even the expressions of pedestrians. This level of detail is crucial for providing evidence in the event of an accident, something I have experienced firsthand with a Rexing cam in the past. Stories can change when law enforcement arrives! During nighttime drives, the footage remained clear, though it wasn’t quite as sharp as during daylight hours. Still, the overall performance in low-light conditions exceeded that of many other dash cams I’ve used. The rear camera, while not as high in resolution, still offers solid additional coverage. It is particularly helpful for keeping an eye on what’s happening behind me, especially during parking maneuvers or when someone is following closely. I did notice that the quality of the rear footage could vary, particularly during night drives, when it sometimes struggled to capture finer details. While the front camera excelled in clarity, the rear camera occasionally felt like it was lagging behind. This is an important consideration for anyone who expects both cameras to perform at a high level. Another strong point is the dash cam’s connectivity features. The built-in WiFi allows you to connect the device to your smartphone via the Rexing app. This functionality makes it easy to view live footage, access recorded clips, and share videos directly from my device. I appreciated being able to retrieve footage without having to remove the SD card. However, I did experience some connectivity issues from time to time; for instance, when transferring larger video files, the app would occasionally lag or disconnect, which was frustrating, especially when I needed quick access. Despite these minor annoyances, the overall convenience of having WiFi access is a great addition that modernizes the experience. A feature that particularly impressed me was the G-sensor, which detects sudden impacts and automatically saves the relevant footage. This offers peace of mind, knowing that crucial evidence will be securely stored in case of a collision. The loop recording feature is also noteworthy, as it ensures continuous recording by overwriting the oldest footage when the memory card fills up. This functionality is vital for maintaining a seamless recording experience without requiring manual intervention. However, I recommend regularly reviewing and managing stored footage to ensure that important videos are saved, especially in the event of an incident. Additionally, the parking mode is a valuable feature that provides extra security when your vehicle is stationary. The camera can monitor the surroundings even when the car is turned off, which is particularly advantageous in urban areas where accidents can happen even while parked. To make the most of this feature, hardwiring the camera is generally recommended. As someone who prefers a simpler setup, this requirement might be a drawback for me. I chose not to hardwire it at first, so I can't fully assess how well this feature works, but it’s something worth considering for those who frequently park in busy locations. Despite the many strengths of the V1P Flex X4, a few drawbacks are worth mentioning. One notable issue is that the rear camera's performance doesn't quite match that of the front camera, which could disappoint users expecting consistent quality from both. Furthermore, while the app is generally user-friendly, the occasional connectivity glitches were somewhat bothersome. I found myself needing to reconnect or restart the app more often than I would have liked, which interrupted an otherwise smooth experience. Another aspect to consider is the price. The Rexing V1P Flex X4 is positioned at the higher end of the dash cam market, which may deter budget-conscious buyers. While I believe the features and performance justify the investment for serious users, those simply looking for a basic dash cam may find more affordable options that suit their needs. It's crucial for potential buyers to weigh the cost against the features they find most important. In conclusion, my experience with the Rexing V1P Flex X4 4K WiFi Dual Dash Cam has been overwhelmingly positive. Its outstanding video quality, particularly from the front camera, makes it an excellent option for anyone concerned about road safety and vehicle security. The straightforward installation, coupled with useful features like the G-sensor and loop recording, enhances its overall appeal. The WiFi connectivity, although occasionally unreliable, adds a modern touch to the device. While the rear camera's performance could use some enhancement and the price might be a consideration for some, the overall functionality and ease of use make it a solid investment. I would recommend the Rexing V1P Flex X4 to anyone who values high-quality recording and advanced features in a dash cam. It’s especially ideal for daily commuters, road trippers, and anyone who appreciates the reassurance of having reliable video evidence in case of an accident. If you frequently drive in urban areas or want an extra layer of protection for your parked vehicle, this dash cam is definitely worth considering. Overall, despite a few areas for improvement, the Rexing V1P Flex X4 stands out as a dependable choice for those committed to driving safety.

I just had item installed at Best Buy and experience so far has been seamless. I liked how the kit came with everything needed for installation so I didn't have to purchase and SD Card or hardwire kit separately. Time will tell how product continues to work but so far I haven't had any issues.

Camera works great but I am unable to access any of the video unless I am in the car and connected to the camera. I wish the ere was a way to access the videos on the app without being connected. Also, I always have to manually connect. So frustrating.
