One of the best thrash albums of all time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the deceivingly peaceful strains of its acoustic beginnings to the power chord and bass bombast of the last track's final moments, "Ride The Lightning" is a thrash masterpiece. After their freshman debut, Metallica laughed at any hint of a sophomore slump with this album, which contains tracks still played live to this day (and still sound as fresh as they did in rehearsals back in the early 80s). Not a week song on the album. If you don't have it, your music collection is incomplete.

Decent remaster
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first Metallica CD I have bought in many years. Yes, I'm one of those people; the ones who like everything up to and sort of including the black album and nothing they've done since. As a kid, Ride the Lightning was always my least favorite only in terms of production quality. The songs are all great but the album always sounded very tinny to me. I've had countless arguments over the years about how I think Kill 'Em All actually had better production. But whatever, this remaster does help the album sound much better. I wish they had remixed it, but the remaster improved it well enough.

Good album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are a couple of duds on here, but Ride the Lightning, Fade to Black and For Whom the Bell Tolls make this one a classic Metallica release.

Thrash Metal masters
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first Metallica record, at almost 40 years of age. I was amazed how much I liked it. Awesome stuff. Call of Kutulu ruled.

Higher quality than original
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Higher quality sound, but isn't that the point? I usually don't buy into album remasters because in the past when I have heard them, I didn't hear much difference. But I have this a shot to support the band (because we want them to get up to a remastered AJFA) and it was 5.99. I'm glad I did. The sound is noticeably better than on my original Ride the lightning album. Apparently technology has finally gotten to that point. I'm not reviewing the album, I think it's safe to assume that you know the band and the album if you are looking at the remastered version lol

A thrash classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While it isn't as good as Master of Puppets, Ride the Lighting is a solid thrash metal release.

Sophomore slump? I don't think so!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely no sophomore slump on the mighty Metallica's second release from 1984 and now it is remastered and comes to life on modern blue tooth systems and even lower priced earbuds. The disc includes concert staples "Fade To Black" and "Creeping Death", two songs that have been on the concert set list for decades. I own the original release album as well as the original release compact disc, but when I saw that this material was going to be remastered there was no doubt I would pick it up.

Ride the remaster!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I noticed more of the remastering on this album then on the Kill Em All remix. To me the drums thump better and the guitars are more descernable from each other. For Whom The Bell Tolls, Fade to Black, Creeping Death. Epic. Turn it up. Bang your head, your steering wheel, your ole lady. Whatever makes you metal. Love this album!

You must buy this!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You cannot be a Metallica fan if you do not enjoy this album. You have to have it, and the good thing is that it is remastered now. It might be me but the sound of my old Ride The Lightning was not good at all. Enjoy every song of it because Ride The Lightning is not only Fade To Black (Which is a great song for me) That is what radio stations force you to like and believe. There are more great song this is great album.

Something Else Matters....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If like me, you cut your Metallica teeth on the Black Album, you may be wondering what got them to that point. Here is your answer. This is James and the boys before they got heady(no pun intended there) Fade to Black gives you an inkling of what The Black Album was going to do, but Ride the Lightning and Creeping Death is pure, unabashed MEATALlica. If you wanna know where all those DJENT guys got the bug from......look here.

A remaster well done!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The remaster job done on this CD is fantastic. A much more well-rounded sound. More clarify in the guitar and vocals, as well as thicker bass. Just enough to wrap the songs in a new level of clarity. Really pleased with the start these Metallca remasters are off to!
