Probably the best of the current remasters. Although the original sound recording still holds up today, the remaster cleans things up in some areas, and adds some added depth that was not heard on the original release. Out of the (3) remasters available, this is the one I recommend the most....

I am still a fan of CDs because it allows you to share your music with others. Sure, you can still rip songs onto a black CD or by some other method. However, getting the album art, sometimes lyrics, CD art and being able to share it with others (can you do that with digital?) is cool. Got it for $4 in December.

It's one of the greatest heavy metal albums of all time... but as far as the way it sounds, it's amazing. They really remastered this well, And the clarity of the album is awesome. I've heard this record a million times and I never get tired of it.

Metallica is in its true form in this album and they reach great heights of musical creativity. My favorite songs are Call of Ktulu and Creeping Death. Give this a listen and it is nice to have the cd even though I make a digital copy for myself using my pc.

This album, as you already know is one of Metal's Best. The Remastering is not over-ambitious, but does sound different, if not better. It might even be better for the re-working. I like the sound quality of the bass and drums and the guitars and vocals as well. Everything is in good balance. These Remasters rock!

Not much to say about this, if you like metal music this is a must for your collection!! Ride the Lightning is classic Metallica with songs like Creeping Death, Escape and For whom the Bell tolls there is no bad side here. BUY IT

For whom the bell tolls and Fade to Black are the only "hits" on this one but it is still and excellent addition to any collection. I got this and several others for my 12 year old daughter who is just now getting into Metallica. She is rocking it!!

I consider myself a very, very casual fan of Metallica. So much so that I really am only familiar with singles and other songs that are shown to me from friends and family. I discovered this album in the "discount" bin for $5.99 and figured I would pick it up. It's a solid album that holds up pretty well for it's age. I wonder how it would sound if this exact lineup were to record it to day (at the age they originally recorded it). If you find it in such a bin and always wondered, it's worth it.

Metallica's second album is nothing that will ever disappoint you. Its great all around, with vocals to instruments, etc. The difference between this version (the remastered version) and the old version is that on this version, the audio seems more clear than on the old version

This, master of puppets, and ...and justice for all rank as the top three Metallica releases to me and probably 95% of the rest of their fan base. If you're just discovering Metallica go ahead and grab this and get educated on early thrash metal by one of the best.

Metallica's second album, 1984's "Ride the Lightning," is their 2nd best after Master of Puppets. I just love this album and this is the third time I purchased Ride the lightning CD. The remastered sound is just brilliant. A must have for any metal fan!!!

I saw this sitting inside bin and it was only 5.00 and i still have a dvd player in my old daily driver so i thought why not.. its a classic and its the Metallica we all remember its the monster metal we love

Absolutely love this cd , I remember growing up and listening to this album , definitely worth picking up and listening to . It is one of the four albums they put out in the early days worth listening to from Metallica .

Excellent CD from Metallica. From beginning to end. Hard and fast CD from Metallica. Once again I truly wish that Best buy never discounted CDs. You Best buy should at least have pre orders for CDs.

This was purchased for my boyfriend who loves Metallica. It was very low priced for such an iconic band and a CD. He was very happy with it and I plan to go purchase some more CDs for him soon!

This was my first and favorite Metallica CD back in the day. And listening to this version today makes it feel modernized but still retain the original attitude it's great. Same great sounds just a little better sound quality

I really love the remastered edition soo much.. You can really hear a difference in these classics. The bass and drums sound way better and cut through. I wish they would remaster all the classic albums from metallica.

I've lost track of how many times I bought this album , Metallica earlier music is great but not saying anything new that people don't know already, forever a rock and roller heavy metaler

Now that Metallica finally own their back catalogue, the band are remastering their albums. The sound quality is fantastic! Can't beat the $5.99 price either. The bass, vocals and guitar sounds so much clearer.

Sounds amazing with the new remaster. I was hesitant at first but then i heard it out spotify and blew me away! I had to get the CD you can hear the awesome basslines of Cliff!!!! Metal up your a...........!!!!!
