3 years ago I purchased the Plantronics RIG 800 LX headphones. They were absolutely amazing! The RIG 800 HX are also very good. They really immerse you into the game.

I like the option of using the docking station or just using the USB in the back of the Xbox the only drawback is I wish the volume control would go a lot louder and I don’t know if they could fix it with a software update.

Good overall headseat. You can hear yourself a little too much when youre talking, but other than that, its a great starter headset.

PROs - Superb sound quality and microphones - Lightweight - Long battery life CONs - Microphone too flexible - Plastic feels a little cheap - Micro USB The RIG – 800 Pro HX is an evolution of the previous 800 LX model. It bears a ton of resemblance to its predecessor in a mostly unchanged design, thought there are some thoughtful changes that make this the best RIG headset for Xbox yet. In my opinion the RIG series is a mostly perfect design. It has an industrial almost alien look with a faux carbon fiber pattern. The entire headset is made of plastic and while it does make the headset feel cheap at times, the weight means that I can use it for hours on end. The headset cups can be moved up or down depending on the size of your head and the head band along the top has the perfect amount of tension to just barely hug your head to keeping the headset from moving. In addition to the light weight, it is very comfortable to use for hours on end with ear cups are a combination of a light plastic leather and breathable cloth. The microphone flips up to mute and the boom is long and flexible which is an improvement over the thick inflexible microphone of the older model. I found that the microphone boom is now maybe too flexible as I found myself initially trying to flip the microphone up and intentionally changing the orientation/shade of the mic. The best way that I found is to flip the mic up by the harder plastic piece so that you don’t have to be constantly adjusting down the road. Finally, this model includes a charging stand which is great for a person like me that always forgets to charge their headset. The stand has a good weight for the headset to easily dock and start charging. A wireless adapter is needed to connect the headset to the Xbox, and this charging stand also provides a nice place to plug it in while not taking up an additional USB port on your Xbox. While the design is mostly unchanged, the I/O has seen some welcomed modifications. There are 2 buttons and 2 scroll wheels on the left cup. Your wheels are for overall volume and the party/game volume split, while the buttons control power/sync and microphone passthrough to the headset so that you can hear yourself. The passthrough or mic monitoring is a great change because while I prefer to be able to hear myself through the headset to verify that my microphone is on and my friends can hear me, others may prefer playing without hearing themselves to minimize additional sound in the game. A change from the previous model as well is the change from a switch to a button for the power. I think this should improve the longevity of the headset as rocker switches tend to fail over time. The headset still uses micro-USB and while that’s less important with the addition of the dock, I would have liked to see USB-C. The headset uses similar 40mm drivers as the previous version and overall, I found the sound to be incredible for games. With the Dolby Atmos for headphones enabled it adds an extra sense of depth and direction to the games that I play. You hear footsteps and enemy movement better, and overall, the games just sound more immersive. Usually, I play multiplayer games, so the game/team balance is especially important. I found that the resolution of the scroll wheel was great, though it does take a second of testing as your team’s microphone volume can vary. While I can’t personally vouch for the quality other than what I hear through the monitor, my friends said that it was crystal clear on their side with no static or stuttering, they also said they heard minimal background noise like my A/C and fan. Overall, I thought that the headset provided all the features and functionality that I would want from a higher end headset in a lightweight packaged with great battery life that let’s me focus on what I really want to do, which is play.

I had the RIG 800s for a long time and they worked great. I exchanged these once because the microphone didn't work at all and now my second one keeps going in and out. It's not useable as a headset. Sound quality is great.

      Hello CheyRicha,
We apologize you are having an issue with your RIG 800 PRO HX wireless headset. Any chance your WiFi router is near your gaming setup? If so, they both operate on 2.4GHz digital wireless and WiFi wireless routers can interfer with the audio signal. To fix this, simply create a bit more space between your wireless router and your wireless headset setup. If that doesn't help, please contact Nacon Customer Support at support.us@nacongaming.com or 1-833-622-6687 for further assistance. Thank you for choosing RIG gaming audio from Nacon. nacon-fr
