Good quality headphones at a great price

Usually when it comes to gaming headphones they cost what they are worth, meaning you’re not going to find great overall headphones for $100, and usually the more you pay the better the quality and features. Some popular ones cost $300 and those have long lasting battery, completely wireless, either 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound comfortable overall and made with more premium materials. As for these Rig 800 Pro HX Wireless Gaming Headsets, you get a lot of options and features for the price. The comfort levels on these headphones is pretty good, some people will really like them and others not so much at first, the reason for that big discrepancy is, it kind of just depends on what you’re used to, these are comfortable but you have to get used to the stretchy band that goes on the top of your head and overall you just have to get used to them, but the same can be said about pretty much any other headsets. Overall the battery life is very good, there’s no way you’ll run out of juice on one sitting on a fully charged battery, and the neat thing is when you are done you just set them back down on the base and they’ll start automatically charging. These particular gaming headphones work with Xbox, and windows 11 PCs. Overall I would say the sound is pretty good, maybe not great like other headphones at twice the price, but overall very good. It is Dolby Atmos compatible and overall you’re getting a lot with this package. Good sound, comfortable high-quality gaming headphones had a pretty good price.

Used it for a total of about 4 hours and then it stopped turning on. Thought maybe it was dead, but it charged for hours and still would not turn on. Absolutely no rough housing or any reason for this to stop working like it did. Had to return it

Lightweight, comfortable, wireless - great sound

Over the years I've had a number of different headsets, but some of my favorite have been those that include a charging base station. It's one less thing to have to keep track of in terms of wires for charging or dongles for connecting wirelessly. The single all-in-one unit is a great thing. Enter the RIG 800 Pro HX. The headset comes to the party with a lot of things you find on more expensive headsets. The charging cradle, wireless, lightweight, good fit (very custom fit, more on that in a minute), Dolby Atmos, etc. To start, the packaging is very green and black XBox oriented, which makes sense as it is designed for use with both XBox and PC, of which I've tried it on both. Connecting is a no frills USB connection which works as both power for the dock and the USB connection for the wireless. No extra power brick, no dongle, no muss. When using the headset, the sound is clean and clear, maybe not quite a full as another more expensive headset, but definitely no slouch either. It honestly feels like they did not have to skimp anywhere in this headset. The only gripe I have is that the microphone feels a little fragile, due to the thin posable arm that it is connected to, but even then, it can be flipped up to get it out of the way or mute it. I've watched videos, played call of duty, plants vs zombies, etc... in every case, the sound comes through faithfully reproduced and clear. When speaking to others through the mic I'm told I am clear without any issues. Now for where this headset really shines. The fit. The ear cups are removable and repositionable on each side in 3 preset locations. The inner band of the headband is flexible and stretchy and can be removed for larger heads. The ear cups themselves are very comfortable and the headset is not heavy. There is really a significant number of ways to configure the headset to fit anyone's head. All in all, I really feel like at this price point there is no sacrifice in quality or features. The single USB connection for all functions, wireless, a charging dock, repositionable fit, weight, sound quality... I could go on. This is a very good option for anyone playing XBox or on PC (selectable with a switch on the side). If you're in the market for something with all of these features and cannot choose a more expensive one, this really does find itself a good place among them even at a lower price point.

Slight Lack of Adjustability but Otherwise Great

I'll start with the good stuff. The headset is light comfortable and well it just works which is always a nice touch when it comes to stuff that is supposed to make your life easier or more fun. The Charging base is a great thing to be included since it means I never have to worry about fumbling to plug in a cable any time the battery gets low. Instead, I just drop the headset on the charging base when I'm not using it and I never have to worry about the batteries being dead when I want to use the headset. Another really nice feature is the fact that not only will this headset work with my XBOX without any fuss but I can also plug the base into my computer and use it for my computer gaming sessions as well. I don't do a lot of talking with online games but with the little I have done the mic is surprisingly not too bad which is a nice bonus. Sound wise this headset sounds just as good as ones from big name brands I could hardly tell the difference which is impressive considering those headsets can't be used with my Xbox as well. If I had to have one downside to the headset there is a minor lack of adjustability which for most people won't be an issue but if you have a larger head, you might find the headset sits a little further up your ears than you might otherwise expect since the ear cups don't move on the headband the only "adjustment" is the cloth strap. I got lucky and the main body is just long enough that the headset sits right at ear level, but the cloth strap is totally pressed against the main body of the headset. It's still comfortable and I don't really notice it any, but if you have a larger head, it could possibly be an issue. Otherwise, this headset is great.

God awful sound even in stereo mode. It sounded like my game was coming through the other end of a tin can setup. Returned it the same day I bought it because it was so bad. Super disappointing since I have a 4+ year old RIG 800HX that sounds way better. At least the setup was easy.

I had been looking for a new headset for my Series X for a while now when the opportunity to pick up the RIG 800 wireless model came up. I was immediately impressed by the reported battery life and Dolby Atmos sound built in, so this seemed like the right choice for the money. On the positives side - the headset is relatively light given the size of the ear cups. Some weight loss was achieved through removing the adjustable sliders and replacing them with a manual set of holes to choose from. This might present some challenges if you can’t get a good fit from one of the choices, but at least once it’s done you don’t have to adjust them again. The base works well and is easy to seat the headset into. It has this unusual design where the wireless dongle plugs into the base, then the base into the Xbox. It didn’t make sense at the time so I was struggling to get connected initially but finally figured it out. Sound performance is great - actually really good for a product at this price point. The cups are comfortable and can be worn for long periods of time without head fatigue. Where i took off a point is the on-headset controls. I’d have preferred they used both sides and larger, more clear controls than have everything on one side and trying to discern which button or knob does what thing. It’s a distraction when you’re trying to play and need to adjust something. More than once i hit the volume instead of the game/chat mix knob. All in all, for the money I’d say these are a great way to keep your kids (or adults) connected to the action.

The First Upgrade to any Gaming Setup

I have an earlier model of the wired headset from RIG, and I love it. As much as I do enjoy using them, their comfort, sound quality, mic clarity are all fantastic, I really wished that I had the same great features in a wireless model. This is where the 800 Pro HX come in. They take everything that I loved from the older wired models and adds the ability to plug into an Xbox and PC using the included USB-A adapter. The adapter has a switch to change it from PC to Console mode, and you can have the USB adapter plugged in to the charging station to streamline it a bit. This headset is super comfortable. Adjusting them to get them to the best size means that you need to unclick each ear up from the headband and adjust them. Once I moved it to the largest setting the seemingly floating headband means that I feel no pressure on the top of my head and can comfortably use them for extended gaming sessions. This combined with the very comfortable ear cups make these a treat to use. The sound quality is just as great as the comfort. These are Dolby compatible and once you download the app on your PC or Xbox it does a great job of really improving the quality and separation of the sound. You can hear enemies coming in from any angle, and really enjoy the various sound effects in any game you play. I was using this with some FPS, MMORPG, and some Adventure games. Each of these AAA titles sounded great with these headphones, no decrease in quality coming from the wired versions of these. The charging cradle make is super easy to charge and store your headphones when they are not being used. Battery seems to last forever. I have used them for extended gaming sessions and once I finished I just set it in the charging stand and boom ready to go for the next round of gaming. I could easily recommend this amazing headset to anyone looking to upgrade their gaming experience. This headset is super comfortable, has amazing sound, the mic quality is great as well as the flip up to mute feature. The easy charging cradle and PC/Xbox adaptability is great. I love this headset.

I will just start that I am about simplicity and good quality for the least amount of money. I like these RIG-800Pro HX and they do a good job. The pros: They connect right up and if you don't have the Dolby Atmos app already installed on your XBOX, it prompts it to be installed. Otherwise, they connect right away in the correct format. The sound is awesome and you can tell where things are coming from just like a normal theater setup. They are comfortable for hours and hours of gaming. Not heavy and fit pretty snug, not perfect, but enough to drown out most background noise. Controls are easy enough to access and use. Max volume pretty much on every signal (sound and chat). Battery life is excellent. I am on my original charge and going strong after a week (2 hours or so a day gaming). Cons: Feel cheaply made and come apart too easily. They don't really snug your head that well unless you have a larger head. The mic works great but easily bends so I worry about longevity here. The mute up and talk down function works great. I wish these were Bluetooth so I didn't have to have the USB dongle on the machine. But, the trade off is it is 2.4GHz and you walk further away without losing connection. The charging base works well but they do take a bit of time (~5 or so hours) to charge up. I like them and I will continue to use them. Nice job!

Personally, I am more of a fan of subtle headphones that don’t scream “I am a gamer” but I wanted to try these out because of the base station and the Dolby Atmos sound. Quickly I forgot I was wearing these headphones that don’t look like casual headphones because the other features won me over. Headset sounds better than any $150 headset out there! 5/5 Built Quality – great quality from the base station to the headset. The headset is flexible so these feel like they will last for some time. The only thing I am not a strong fan of is the mechanism they went with to adjust the size. It’s different than what most other headphones have. 4/5 Features and Controls – I am on a PC and personally, I feel like the headset has a lot of buttons on it and I would prefer that if instead of the buttons on the headset, the options were just on the software. I understand that’s harder for Xbox folks, but it feels like there are lots of buttons on the headset. I wish it was a bit cleaner on all the controls. 5/5 Dolby Access App – works great and easy to maneuver. Optimize the sound profiles. 5/5 Comfortability – these are light and easy on the ears. I don’t expect any complaints from long gaming sessions. 5/5 Sound Quality – Amazing for the price. the mic does the job and sounds clear and crisp (according to my friends). The sound during gameplay was clear. Not a lot of bass and I actually like that. I mostly play FPS and bass is annoying with the explosions and airplanes. These worked and allowed me to hear enemies better than my previous headsets in the $100 price range (as expected).

I love them! I had been looking for a good pair of headphones to replace my old, wired headphones for playing games on my console. Having these frees up my controller space by removing the wire. There is great 3D sound as I move about maps in my FPS games. They are lightweight and comfortable to wear for multiple hours of play time. Though I've played straight for many hours at a time, I have yet to run the battery down in a single sitting. I also use these when playing games on my PC, replacing pair of high-end wired headphones. Latency is at a minimum, virtually real-time. Again, the spatial sound as I move about other players is very realistic, allowing me to not have to look around to know where others are at. The sound is crisp and clear with no muddy sounds in the games I've played. Storage and charging are one in the same! The base station plugs directly into a USB-A port. There is a USB-A dongle that plugs into the base station and is the transmitter and receiver while using. My base station stays plugged into my console. When I switch to my PC at the other side of the house, it's as easy as pulling the dongle from the base station and plugging it into my PC. Very convenient. This unit is very comfortable with over-the-ear fit. The microphone tilts up and out of the way when not in use. The mic boom is flexible allowing for placement in just the right spot to be useful, but not an annoyance. I would highly recommend this product!

This RIG - 800 Pro HX Wireless Headset is a great headset for your Xbox or PC gaming needs. The headset itself is designed to be lightweight and the setup and connecting to Xbox was a breeze. Make sure you charge the headset fully before you start using it. The headset can be charged using the Micro USB cable (a big miss on not including USB C) or the charging station, both included in the package. I like the convenience of using the base to store and charge when I am not using the headset. A single charge of the headset will provide you with up to 24 hours of battery life, which is plenty for a few days of gaming, depending on your usage. The boom mic is really good, the voice is clearer on the other side. The mic can be flipped up to mute yourself and you can bend the arm to adjust the microphone position. The included ear cups are soft and extremely comfortable. You can only place them in one of the three preset holes. This might take a few tries to find the one that you are comfortable with. Download the Dolby Atmos app from the Xbox store for a better and enhanced experience with clear and crisp audio. The best part about the USB wireless adapter is you can seamlessly switch between an Xbox and a PC. Overall, this is a great headset for all gamers and is pretty comfortable for extended sessions.
