Certain Not "PRO". But not the worst.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Rig 800 Pro HX wireless headset, while good is certainly lacking in some areas. First lets talk about the good stuff. The sound quality is exceptional, and the dolby atmos availability is nice addition, however not unique to the price point. Secondly, the charging base included is a great perk for a dedicated place to rest your headset after a gaming session. The mic has a long reach and the ability to mute by raising the mic is quick and easy. The battery life is long, so worrying about it running out during a longer session isn't a problem. Now for the things I'm not so keen on. The headset requires a USB dongle to operate as a wireless headset. In this day and age with other products on the market that are out of the box capable of wireless connection, this mode seems archaic. it is possible to house the dongle in the charging dock, that dock must then be connected to the Xbox for it to work. As for the headset itself, I noticed multiple times during gameplay that even sitting right in front of the xbox (less than 2 meters away) the headset would randomly disconnect from the xbox, for anywhere from 15-30 seconds at a time. With this headset taking the moniker of "PRO" anyone who would use these in a competitive situation would agree that that amount of time without communication would spell certain doom. I retested multiple times to make sure it wasn't a one time issue and it happened on multiple occasions. I also checked the battery level to make sure it wasn't a power issue. It was not. Turning to the physical aspect of the headset. The earpieces are adjustable so that they will fit on almost any head size; and the ear pieces are soft and comfortable at first, but with limited airflow, they get very warm, moist, and uncomfortable when playing with them on for more than maybe a couple hours. They are not made for longer gaming sessions in this aspect, regardless of battery life. Overall while they are good, they certainly fall short of being great, settling on mediocre or middle of the road at their price point.

Posted .Hi ObiRob,
Thank you for your thorough review. One comment on the USB stlck-style wireless adapter included with the RIG 800 PRO HX. This adapter is included because the RIG 800 PRO HX uses a 2.4GHz RF lag-free wireless connection between adapter and device. Gaming headsets that use Bluetooth wireless can suffer from audio lag which is not ideal when gaming. And since a 2.4GHz wireless connection is not build into any consoles, just Bluetooth wireless, we need to include this adapter for optimal game play. Regarding the disconnects, that should not be happening. First off, make sure your 800 PRO HX wireless adapter is not right next to your WiFi router. There can be RF interference between the two devices. If that doesn't help, please know that all RIG products from Nacon are covered by a one year warranty against any manufacturers defects. Customer Support is available via email at support.us@nacongaming.com. Thanks for choosing RIG Gaming products from Nacon...

Quality Headset for XBox and PC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been searching for a good wireless headset to use with my Xbox Series S which sounded good and allowed me to chat with my friends. I have finally found that headset with the RIG 800 Pro HX Wireless headset. Straight out of the box, set up is easy. You get the dongle, base unit, USB charging cable, and of course, the headset. You can use this with a PC or Xbox, so you must slide the selector switch to which you want to use. Then you can plug the dongle into the system or directly into the base unit and the base unit into the system. If you want to use the system to power the charging base, I recommend you plug the dongle in to the base and then the base into the system. In any case, the process is simple. Then you are up and running. Just for completeness, this headset will not work with the PS5. The PS5 will recognize the RIG – 800 Pro HX and show the name when you look for the audio devices. However, no sound will come out at all. So, this system only works with the Xbox line and PCs. No for how it performs. There seems to be a growing trend with headset manufactures to put an adjustable head strap on headsets. I have never found one that makes the headset more comfortable, and this is no different here. At least this head strap is easily removed. After that, it fit reasonably well and was comfortable. The earmuffs were still comfortable after a few hours wearing them. The sound quality was good, but I wish I had a little more control over the sound overall. There was no real personal equalization to tailor the sound to your desires. Overall, the sound was good, but I would necessarily call it mind blowing. It is good for movies and gaming, but it is not the best I have ever heard either. The boom mic works well. You can pull down to turn it on. If you want to mute yourself, you can simply flip it up to turn off. It also has good noise cancelation. You should have not issues communicating with your teammates in the heat of any gaming battle. The battery life was impressive. I couldn’t come close to running the battery down even with two nights of playing. Most people though will just place the headset on the charging base after each gaming session. The base looks high tech, so you will likely want to use it.

Super comfortable and awesome audio!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most comfortable headset I have ever used. It's so light that I barely even feel like I'm wearing anything. The audio is also great and is made even better with Dolby. I play Warzone and can actually hear exactly where people are. The charging dock is also such a great add on. I never have to worry about looking for a cable to charge my headset.

Solid Pair of Headphones for PC and Xbox
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love trying all types of different headsets, and in my experience there is no perfect headset. all of them have their pros and their cons. Some have cool features that others don't, With this particular pair they have a couple of really cool features and have pretty decent sound. For me personally they were not very comfortable and it was just because I could never get the headset to sit well on my head. The materials on the ear cups are very comfortable and the headset has a good wait but it always felt too low or too high on my ears. sound quality is pretty good its not the best I have heard but I have heard much worse ones even from some that are many times more expensive than this set. So most people will be satisfied with the audio. My favorite part about this headset is the base. The base gives you two ways to listen to audio not just charge the headset. you can have your pc or console connected to the base and get your audio that way and lets say you need to plug in your headset into another console or pc there is a dongle that pops out form the base that you can use to connect your headset eliminating the need to move the whole base. This was very useful as my console and pc are in different rooms. overall I found these to be very solid pair of headphones and even though I couldn't get them to fit just right on my head everything else about them was very enjoyable.

Fantastic Wireless Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The RIG 800 Pro HX is one of the best wireless headsets I have used. I was very impressed with every aspect of this headset. Right when you take them out of the box, everything feels really nice and premium. The headset is "auto adjusting", which basically means that you don't really have to mess with the headband, it is just kind of elastic and conforms to your head. There are 3 positions for the ear cups if you need to slightly adjust the height of them, but I think the middle position will work for most people. I consider myself pretty big-headed, and they felt very comfortable in the middle position. The comfort level of the headset was great. The ear cups are nice and cushy with a very comfortable fabric that breathes well to not get your ears hot. The headband is very soft and light. Overall I was able to wear the headset for a few hours and was never uncomfortable. The performance of the headphones is also very nice. Sound quality was top notch, and the surround sound effect was perfect. I could hear footsteps all around me in fps games, and could hear cars coming up from behind and on the appropriate side in racing games. Very impressed. Battery life, again is very impressive. They claim something like 24 hours of battery life, and I tend to believe it. I was able to use them for my entire 3 hour gaming session and I barely made a dent in the total battery left. Because these have a dock, I just leave it plugged in and place them on the dock when I'm done gaming, so I doubt I'll ever come close to draining the battery on these things. Overall, I was just super impressed with everything about this headset. It is super comfortable, has great performance and battery life, and there just isn't anything I can think of that I didn't like about it. I would definitely recommend.

RIG-800 pro wireless headset for Xbox
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.RIG-800 Pro HX wireless headset for Xbox is a good headset. Quality is good and fit is very comfortable. Adjusting the headset seems odd. You have to press and the push in on the sides of the headphones to release and then move it up or down to the desired height. Charging and stand charging and the stand works really well. USB wireless connector works great for connecting the headset to the Xbox and for receiving Dolby Atmos. Dolby Atmos Dolby Atmos sounds crisp and clear. Brings the action in and around you for an immersive experience. The gun fire and airplanes were everywhere around me. I turned my head a few times thinking they were in the room. Quality of build Quality of the headphones seems really good. strong black plastic with nice comfortable ear cushions. Controls for volume, connecting and audio is very easy to use and works really quick with no hesitation The only reason for four stars is due to the adjustments of the headset height around your head. Just seemed a bit more cumbersome than it needs to be to get the right fit. I was glad that they didn’t need adjusted. Not a deal breaker but something you need to be aware. I would highly recommend these to a friend or colleague.

A solid wireless gaming headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.RIG - 800 Pro HX Wireless Headset and Base Station with Dolby Atmos for Xbox one, Xbox Series X|S I recently got hold of the Xbox Series X\S and my current wireless headset is for the PC only. I use the Xbox connected to a PC monitor at my desk. So I needed a more compatible headset that would play games on both devices. I also wanted the Dolby Atmos support since I think it's currently the best implementation of surround sound you can get in a headset. A big plus of the Rig 800 Pro HX is the charging base station. It worked great and I had no charging or connection issues. There is no denying its utility. This should be a required feature of all wireless headsets in this price range. The head strap fit me well right away and along with the lite weight makes this a very comfortable headset. The earpads have a good seal and are soft and also feel good. I like the look of this headset. It is unique without being over the top and I have started using it as my main headset during the workday. Having this long battery life makes it much easier to use all day and still be ready for gaming in the evening. The microphone is nice and can be placed pretty much wherever you want. It has no problem passing the chat test or while in Teams. I typically don’t mix my mic for monitoring but it's a nice feature to have. There is a lot to like with the RIG - 800 and it should be on any gamers short list. It is easy to switch between the PC and Xbox. The base station is a huge plus as is the Dolby Atmos support. The sound is balanced and helps round out the whole package. Along with the comfort it ticks all of the boxes.

Very large cup Xbox headphones when they connect.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones I selected for my son who loves to play Fortnite on his Xbox, but wanted a pair of wireless headphones. Well these look nice and sound great when they connect. Sometimes these connect perfect to his Xbox one s and other times I have to reboot them to get these to connect to the included USB dongle. Battery life is really good, lasts for a solid day and a half for my son. There are nowhere near as many good wireless options for Xbox like there is ps5, but these are pretty decent selections. I would like to find a nice pair of Corsair wireless headphones for the Xbox, as they seem to make some of the best options. The charging dock for these is pretty nice and convenient, just set em and forget em. These are quit larges on me and look even funnier on my 10 yr old. But they work and that's what counts, just wish the connection was more reliable. Hopefully the built in rechargeable battery lasts a good year or more hoping for more. As for the cost, when the battery dies so do these headphones.

A comparable player to the gaming headset market
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These may not be the most high end headsets around compared to some unmentionable Turtle Beach as a comparison. However the fact they care enough to not package these with a flimsy USB-C cord and have an actual charging stand, says a lot about the quality. These headphones work seamlessly with XBox consoles and in fact, I just upgraded to the new Xbox series X and they are awesome with that console. Not only do they sound good and are flawless, they are intuitive enough to allow for bluetooth connectivity or USB dongle connectivity. The sound is great and there is no interruption and best part is they are wireless and sturdy not like other cheap feel versions of gaming headsets. In all these are top notch and from a brand I had never heard of. Really enjoy the experience with these things. Comparably to the other brands they are surprisingly reasonably priced and also exceeded expectations when it came to ease of use and compatibility to the system I have so I would highly recommend this device for others looking for a headset for their gaming systems.

Nice Package and good Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup I like the base stand for these headphones because it has a slot where you can put in the Wireless receiver on the stand and charger and then plug that into your PC. If you don't want to do that the USB Dongle for wireless connects just fine directly. But I like the setup has everything in one tidy package. After that you just plug the headphones into your PC turn them on and go. Since the headstand that holds them is the charger to, its easy to keep them charged and out of the way when not in use. Using the headphones is easy. Connected to PC, nothing to download and was able to use them to game right away without issues. The sound was good and had no issues in Halo hearing my teammates or the game while using them. Microphone included does a decent job that no was complaining they couldn't hear me clearly. The buttons to adjust game to voice balance and overall volume are well positioned to not get confused which is which. I did find the mute button a bit small, but flipping up the Mic worked just as well and for me is my preferred method anyway. They are very lightweight and I didn't feel them weigh on me for long gaming sessions and even with my glasses didn't make me feel uncomfortable in the least. These are a great pair of wireless headphones if you need something for gaming or light streaming and I highly recommend them.

Far from the best
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is roughly the dozenth gaming headset that I’ve tried over the past 15 years of online gaming, but out of the gate, I can assure you that there’s better options out there. Out of the box, it is very standard packaging. Nothing to write home about here, which is fine as nearly every headset packaging is similar to the last. One thing to always note is the weight of the headset as it will be sitting on your head for long time periods. This is a lighter set, which I like, flexible as well, without being cheap. The first thing I noted was how convoluted they make it to setup. Most headsets traditionally will come charged and ready to go, the instructions on these ask you to charge for SEVEN hours up front, which is a very long time, and also, thus don’t come charged. I charged the headset overnight with the USB cord in my wall, but the next morning it wasn’t working. Weird. I set the base up, which is slightly unnecessary in and of itself. Normally you’d plug your headset into a charging port but this time you just plug it into the base which is plugged into the charging port. Ok. I guess technically it’s a little easier as it just slides on and off the base with ease, as well as connects perfectly fine, and it looks better propped upright to charge, but on the other end, the base is just an additional thing to set somewhere and no one is really coming over to be wowed by your gaming headset. So… there’s pros and cons to each their own. After charging on the base for a while, I tried to connect the headset and had little luck as whenever I’d hit or hold the power button, nothing was happening. With no rhyme or reason, the headset finally came on and immediately connected to the Xbox, which was nice due to the ease. I used it for the night and really noted how good the sound was as both high and low notes really played through with great clarity. Unfortunately, while the incoming sound was great, the outgoing sound was pitiful. Every person in my game chat (3 people) immediately noted how bad I sounded, describing me as sounding very distant, in a tin can, or underwater. I moved the mic closer to no avail until finally realizing that while the microphone sits in front of your mouth, it only has a tiny receptive hole to speak in to, so I had to turn that towards me, as well as raise my mic monitoring to the max level, and put the mic millimeters from my mouth for the audio to be satisfactory. Any time I’d move the mic to eat, drink, or bump into, I’d find myself having to readjust the mic to make sure I was heard. Overall, a frustrating situation to say the least. I put the mic on the shelf for a few days and went back to using my Turtle Beach 600 Stealth, which is probably my all time favorite headset and likely won’t go back to this. Even this morning, I tried using the headset again, took it off the charger where it’s sat plugged in for days and couldn’t seem to get it to turn on. Thumbs down. Overall the pros are the lightweight material and so coming sound and the downsides are setup/charging hassles, the headaches of the outgoing mic sounds and the frustrating connectivity issues. In good faith, I can’t recommend this.

Crisp Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box is the headphones, a charging stand, a micro usb to usb cord, information papers, and stickers sporting RIG affiliated logos. The headphones rest snuggly into the charging stand, without much room to wiggle and possibly damage the charging port. The RIG 800 PRO HX (800PHX) is newest model in RIG’s trusty line of gaming headset’s. This particular model is wireless but you can still plug them in. There is one small issue, the USB adapter used to connect your headset to your console/gaming PC, is almost too snug to fit into the port on the charging stand. It was a great idea, to have somewhere to insert the adapter to prevent it from being lost or misplaced, but once in it was a fight to pull back out. Minor quirks aside, the sound is impeccable. Clear, and crisp. The same can be said for the mic, except in a negative sense. The mic is sensitive, almost too much so that it picks up most every tap, touch and shift of movement that you make. This can, however, be solved by altering the settings on your PC or console. This was the largest issue I have had with the headset. Overall, the 800PHX’s are an excellent buy, RIG has lived up to its reputation with them, in all ways possible. The headset is comfortable, lightweight, and sleek as most of its predecessors. Would I recommend to friends and family? Absolutely!

Great Gaming Headset plus Charger
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.RIG - 800 Pro HX Wireless Headset is a great overall headset for gaming. It sounds great on both Xbox and PC. The sound level is adequate and crisp during game play and/or talking with others. Volume control is easy to use and works very well. The mic sound is great and mic placement is comfortable. The mic arm lifts up and down easily to move out of the way when not in use. Mic muting also works very well on this headset. The ear pads and head pad are comfortable and do not hurt either ears or head even after hours of gaming. Another plus is the charging pad. The headset rests on the pad to charge and it gets to 100% charge very quickly. The headset is wireless and can easier switch from the Xbox to the PC smoothly. This is great for those who utilize both platforms. There are no cords to deal with which is great! There is a place to store the USB thumb drive when not is use. This will help ensure it is not lost or misplaced. Everything is conveniently store on the charging pad. Love that the headset can be store there while charging. Eliminates the need for an additional hook to hold the headset. Overall, really like this headset for sound quality and charging convenience. It looks like they also improved the design of the ear pad covers over their older model which is good.

Great quality headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from Astro A40’s - these are a much better value. The connectivity is seamless. The weight of these are feather like. The head band is very supportive and comfortable. The sound quality is just as good as Astro’s, imo. They have a little bit more bass.

An upgrade you won't regret
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was eager to upgrade my old RIG 800 after years of gaming, so when I saw that a new PRO version had been released I was excited to try it out. Happy to say that it did not disappoint! Build quality is phenomenal as it usually is for RIG headsets, and the audio experience surpasses any other headset I've used. In particular the Dolby Atmos integration is flawless and completely changed the way I experience games, particularly online shooters. But easily the best part of this upgrade is the new base station. Having the ability to place the headset in the dock so it's fully charged for my next session is a life saver. So glad I no longer have to mess around with plugging in cables! The option to connect to my Xbox with the USB wireless adapter instead of the the dock also meant I could place the dock in the most convenient location for my setup. This flexibility is so crucial for somebody like me who has limited space around their Xbox! Highly recommended for anybody looking to upgrade or experience a premium headset for the first time. For this price you won't find a headset that can match the 800 PRO's features!
