With more and more games having a social component that often requires clear communication, general chats with friends, but many headsets tend to lack great audio. Even the plug in premium headsets often lack enough power to really provide an impactful immersive gaming experience. I was honestly surprised to hear the RIG 800 model name being used again after being my go-to headset for several years. Even now I use a RIG 800HD with my PC, after upgrading to another headset once I upgraded to an Xbox Series X. Now manufacturers by Nacon, the RIG 800 PRO HX feels like an evolution of the original. Bringing back an amazing Dolby audio experience, paired with easy to toggle chat & game audio, and the ability to mute with a simple stow away of the microphone. Everything about the RIG 800 feels like an upgrade. There is now an included charging base, a smaller form factor USB adapter which can also be plugged into the USB port of the wireless charger, and a microphone that can now be re-positioned to your preference. The RIG is still made out of a lightweight plastic, but now includes some additional rubber like padding for nice comfort if your head fully touches the top of the headband. The same mechanism is used to re-size the headset to your comfortable setting, with minimal effort to pop the earphones out and back on; all while feeling secure enough to bend without falling out of place. The earphones also have a smoother vinyl like cover, and feel softer than the previous generation headset. This made wearing them with my blue blocking lens easy without any loss in comfort or sound quality. You’ll find the same stamped in “R” lettering in the right earphone to remind you of the orientation when putting them on. There are some slight differences to the power button, and you’ll find a charging pad area on the bottom of the earphone for the charging base. The power button is a flush button, and when power on displayed a blue LED, connecting within seconds of power on. You’re greeted with an audible voice alerting you of the connection and battery status. You’ll hear an audible tone when you push the microphone up, without the audible click. The volume buttons have a comfortable amount of tension with a rubber grip, keeping them in place if you rest your head back in your chair or pillow without the random volume change. The base had an odd benefit feature when plugged into the USB port of your Xbox Series X. I noticed when removing the headset from the charging base, it would automatically turn on my Xbox, while still requiring power-on of the headset. I do wish the headset would turn themselves on also, and have yet to figure out how to stop the console from powering on when removing from the base. Keep in mind, this did require the USB adapter to also be plugged in, and only when plugged into the Xbox using an available USB port for charging. The headset features some 44mm drivers, which offered excellent audio. Included in the box is a code to enable the Dolby features on your Microsoft account, and I’d strongly recommend using it. Compared to the standard audio options found on the console, the Dolby audio sounded full, with clear lows to highs, and 3D like surround sound. If you’re wondering if this works with PC, you’re in luck! Using the same USB adapter, simply switch the small switch to “PC” and you’ll find a similar audio experience with Dolby enabled. I should note the Chat/Game audio switch doesn’t work the same on PC, and am not sure of a way to make it work. The charging base has a molded design where the headset fits perfectly into place, and only in the right orientation. There is a red LED light bar that lights up when you place the headset on the charger, and blinks when it detects the headset is removed. It took about 4 hours to fully charge the headset from around half when it was delivered. On a full charge, I found that the battery lasted several days before I finally got a low battery warning. The headset boasts a surprisingly long 24 hour battery life, with most others in the premium category being 14 to 19 hours at best. So, this will last several sessions of gaming throughout the week, while being comfortable enough to wear during those long RPG or FPS gaming sessions. Overall, I’m happy to see Nacon upgrading the experience of the RIG800 PPRO HX. They’ve improved on an already great design, taking user feedback seriously, and creating an immersive audio experience that’s as easy as plugging in and powering on. It’s easily used between PC and Xbox, offering similar audio experience with Dolby enabled, and an improved battery life that’s seen on headsets that cost and weigh more. This is an easy recommendation to anyone looking for an Xbox or PC headset, or who finally want a previous generation RIG800 upgrade!

    BEST RIG YET

One of the best gaming headset i have. I own 4 different gaming headsets i even had the Rig 800XL these are the best one's i have used so far. They are very light weight they fit my head as i wear a L-XL hat so it's hard to find a headset that wont squeeze my head and ears and give me a headache when playing. I use these for about 4-6 hours when playing and didn't feel them on me. The mic is a very big upgrade from the last one and everybody tells me i come across so much clearer then all the others. You don't get a lot of back ground noise from them. Lifting the mic straight up puts it on mute so no buttons to push and forgetting you are still muted. The 2 volume controls are nice 1 is for game play sound and the other is for chat. I love that you can control this on these. Battery is good not great as some of my others this has a 24hr battery life i have some that are 40hrs. I don't get to play a lot during the week so i just keep this on the nice cradle charger that it comes with looks cool standing on it. The game sound is great DOULBY and with this you get the free download for it on XBOX. I didn't find any lag in the chat or game function clean and clear. The price on these is really good some good one's go for 200.00 to 400.00 can't beat this for the quality the comfort and great sound. Easy hook up to your console. I could give you all the specs but its on the box and the description of the item. Worth the money yes.

Sound quality: Near pristine. Beautiful, balanced audio with good bass. Enabling Dolby Atmos on your console will double your pleasure. Build quality: Really good. The plastic doesn't feel cheap or flimsy and no parts seem to creak or squeak like most other brands do (looking at you, Turtle Beach.) Fit: It has a unique way of adjusting the fit that I've rarely seen before, but it works, and it's easy. It is also EXTREMELY comfortable. Most headsets hurt my ears and top of my head after a couple hours of gaming, but this headset never cause those issues. Connectivity: This is where the review takes a turn. This headset has many constant issues with connecting to my console. Whether it connects properly and trasmits audio upon turning it on is a 50/50. Sometimes I have to reset the headset, and sometimes I have to restart my console to get it to work. Sometimes when turning it on, it will say "headset connected" then "headset not connected" then it will just repeat that over, and over again, and that's when I have to restart everything. Finally, the mic on this headset doesn't work on 360 games at all. If you play on a Series S/X, you'll know that Game Pass has a lot of throwback games, for example Call of Duty MW2/MW3/BO2 etc. The mic just simply does not work on those games, however the audio is fine. My old Turtle Beaches worked fine on 360 games, so it's definitely an issue with this headset's compatibility and not my console. All around, this is a very good choice of a headset if you like quality and comfortability.

So as far as Discord, my mic volume is low. Other than Dolby Digital, it does not have its own app to control anything. The audio quality is DECENT at best. The comfort is where this product shines. They are lightweight but relatively sturdy.

I've owned multiple gaming headsets and nothing is superior in sound or comfort than the 800PRO HX. I originally was going to purchase the A50 because I need a docking station but it's double the price and this has more features. I've experience zero lag, the connection is great. Buttons on the side are very handy and the flip to mute is underrated. Favorite headset and its not even close. The plus is I can easily switch from Xbox to PC.

I was not a fan of this headset. Comparing to the 800LX(one of my favorite), IN MY EXPERIENCE, this mic was too sensitive, the connection to the base was bad, and the battery life did not seem as good. The sound was great and the headset was just as comfortable to wear gaming for any amount of time. Sitting on the couch, the connection would drop and reconnect for no reason multiple times. The microphone had to be in a certain position to pick up my voice but then when not speaking, it was able to pick up nose breathing, or the fan in the background, or anyone else doing anything near me. As someone who has a fan going 90% of the time this did not work for me. The Dolby Atmos still sounds amazing and the ear cups are just as soft. The band stretching over the head is barely noticeable. And it is still light as a feather. It costs the same as the old version but I noticed more drawbacks than improvements. In the end, this model did not work for my needs.

I really really wanted to love these headphones. For reference I previously had the RIG 800LX's which are probably my favorite wireless gaming headset at this price point that I've used (way better than the stealth's). This headset I assumed was going to just improve on everything that the 800LX's got right which it did except for one thing, the microphone. When using the headset none of my friends could hear me. According to them it was like the microphone started to cancel out my voice halfway through talking because they could either hear only the very beginning or the very end of whatever it was that I was saying. The only way to mitigate this is to have the mic so uncomfortably close to my mouth it wasn't worth it. I tried increasing the mic monitoring and that helped a bit but I still couldn't move the microphone more than a couple millimeters from my face. I initially assumed that my headset was defective so I sent it back and get a new pair but that did not solve the issue. 1 out of 5. These are the most comfortable headphones I have ever used by far. I've worn them for over 8 hours and had absolutely no issues. 5 out of 5 The sound quality of these headphones is pretty good not as good as my Sennheiser pc38x's but good enough for gaming for sure. My only gripe is that the bass was a bit much, but that can be tuned in the Dolby Atmos app if you take the time with it. 5 out of 5 only because you can tune it in the Dolby app, 4 out of 5 straight out of the box The switching between between pc/xbox worked well and was the main reason I went with RIG originally when I purchased the 800LX's All in all I gave these a 3 out of 5 because I think that 90% of people are going to pick these up and they'll be the best headset they've ever owned, but unfortunately for me either the frequency/tone of my voice or some other unknown factor just caused the microphone not to work that well.

I got this to replace an old HyperX cloud that was damaged and so far these are my new favorite. Very lightweight, you can wear them for hours and not get a headache. The Dolby app isn’t my favorite and I got tired of switching between settings but I found some custom setting suggestions online and now just stick with the one setting for both games and movies. I just bought another set for my partner because they tried mine and loved the comfortable fit. Battery life is pretty great, it’s got automatic shut off so if you forget to pop them in the charger you’re still gtg the next day. Definitely a good mid-level headset, use them everyday for several hours.

This is actually my second RIG 800 Pro headset and it's the only one I'll ever use for gaming. My first set is now several years old and is still doing great, but I got the opportunity to get this latest version and since I have 2 xboxes in 2 different rooms, I had to get this one. My old one now stays with my old Xbox One X, and I use this one as my main set with my Xbox Series X. Not much has changed with the RIG 800. The design has been pretty much kept the same over the years, as has its form and function. But there's no reason to mess with a great formula that works. Some pieces of material are a little different but the biggest change with this new RIG 800 version is the mic arm is pliable and much easier to bend to the best fit. Function wise the sound that this headset produces with Dolby Atmos installed on your Xbox, included by the way with this headset, is like no other headset I've tried. Just the clarity alone, and how well you can hear every single little sound, along with exactly where that sound should be coming from, or perceived to be coming from, is incredible. It's so enjoyable in fact, that I oftentimes prefer using them over my home surround sound system. Which is saying a lot for me because I will almost always choose external sound that fully encompasses you over sound that's just on top of your ears. Talking about sound on top of your ears, headsets need to be comfortable to wear too. It doesn't matter how good they perform if they're not comfortable to wear. The pads though on this headset are extremely soft and thick and so comfortable and the headset is light enough overall that you almost don't even feel it. I've worn the RIG 800 for some long marathon sessions with absolutely no discomfort at all. In fact, you know it's comfortable when you take them off at the end of a long gaming session and don't feel much difference or that sense of relief that you get when you wear something that isn't truly comfortable. The controls on the headset are easy to use and adjustable too, and it's nice that all it takes is flipping the mic arm up to mute it. And when you're not using the mic it doesn't get in the way at all. Another nice feature with this new version is the charging stand and the fact that it's optional. The stand not only charges the headset, but also acts as the receiver. But if there's not a good space for it, like there isn't on my main entertainment set-up, you can still just use the small usb receiver without the stand and charge the headset by just plugging the charging cable directly into them. Here's the other great thing about this headset since we're talking about the receiver that makes these wireless, there's absolutely zero audio lag. That's a problem I've faced with other wireless speakers/headsets, especially bluetooth ones. Whatever tech they use with the usb receiver and these headphones is, it works perfectly. The audio from the very first time I used these have always been perfectly in sync with the video. Finally I should just mention setting these up, which couldn't be easier. I just downloaded the Dolby Atmos app on my Xbox Series X, and it immediately recognized this headset and switched on Atmos for headsets setting. So in other words, hardly any setup at all, it just works. So if you're looking for a good headset for your Xbox, or PC too, the RIG 800 Pro HX is the one to get. I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough, these are just one of those products that works so well that it has earned both my trust and loyalty.

Astounding sound quality. Atmos really shines with this headset. The 7.1 is amazing with any media from games, movies or music, everything sounds amazing and like your in the room actually experiencing the action. The battery life is the best I've found in the donzen or so different headsets I've had, definitely lives up to the 24 hours of life. Now my only two problems I have with these wonderful set of cans is it could be louder and they dont have Bluetooth, so no using them with your phone but overall I'm quite happy with the overall performance and would recommend unless you need a louder set or want Bluetooth connectivity. The base station and dongle work great, charging does take some many hours but they last a very long time even at max volume. Working both on Xbox and PC gives some nice versatility along with either pluging the dongle into the base station or directly into the device is nice. So far no problems other the no Bluetooth. Extremely light and comfortable.

I’ve had this headset for over a year and have had no problems with it whatsoever. I am pretty rough with it every once in awhile and they still work great. I stick them on the charger every night and they have never died on me. I have accidentally left them on and not on the charger for about 32 hours once and they didn’t die. That is just the battery and durability. They are very comfortable and the sound quality is amazing. The mic also sounds great. I can’t think of any cons with my headset.

I have owned and used the Rig 800 LX for approximately 5 years and was excited to start using the 800 Pro HX. I have to say I prefer the Rig 800 LX over the Pro HX. Rig is now using the area on the bottom of the ear cup for connecting the headset to the charging base and in the process eliminated the equalizer button. There is no equalizer adjustment on the headset, which requires equalizer adjustments in the Atmos App. I could never get the same full sound when adjusting in the Atmos App. I missed having the ability to quickly change the sound profile by cycling through the equalizer button on the headset. The other thing that surprised me was the ear pads. The comfort level of the headset is still amazing, however, I found my ears were heating up quickly making them less comfortable overall than the cloth covered 800 LX ear pads. Build quality is still great, they are light weight, and the charging base and USB adapter is a nice touch. The headset adjustments work great, and don't worry about breaking them as many have expressed concerns about. The headset is very durable. Even though I prefer the sound on the LX, I have to say the new Pro HX had better bass. For FPS games, I much prefer the 800 LX. I was not apple to achieve the same level of clarity for the Pro HX using the Atmos App. If you never owned the 800 LX you may find you really like these. I hate to say this, but in my opinion there are better options out there, such as the Razor Kaira Pro, and Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2.
