light weight
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only positive thing is the light weight aspect of the headset. Sound was never loud enough. Everything was turned to max on computer settings and the headset but still it was quiet.

Posted .Hi! Thank you for your honest review, however, we are sorry to hear about your experience. If the audio on the headset is reasonably low, you may want to try to establish a new connection between the headset and the wireless adapter. To do so: 1) Unplug the wireless adapter from your gaming console and restart it (completely turn it off and back on). 2) Reconnect the adapter and press and hold down the linking button on your adapter until it starts flashing an alternative red and blue. 3) Once flashing red and blue please put your headset in pairing mode by pressing and holding the power switch towards the linking icon until it starts flashing red and blue as well.
4) Once the headset stops flashing and the LED light on the adapter is solid purple means they are successfully connected. You may also want to test the headset connected into a different computer to completely isolate the issue. Our intention is to provide the highest quality products to our customers and we thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team at 800-985-9815 if you require assistance.

Comfortable headset with amazing sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has been a while since I have used wireless headphones for home theater/gaming usage. Mainly due to the fact that wireless usually couldn't provide the same "punch" as wired headsets. These have changed my tune. The ATMOS is amazing in this set. i played through the demos, played a few games and watched Sicario. All added a new level of enjoyment. Even better than my last wired 7.1 headphones. Charge is still going strong. I've worn them for hours with little to no discomfort which is unusual for my big head. All and all, well worth the price of admission for detailed and full sound. Still playing with the EQ settings, but so far, they definitely add some differentiation to the content...just not sure which is better. The only gripe I have is some soundtracks, at higher volumes, still have a bit of distortion. Especially on bass tones. Not terrible, but I do notice. They also could do better in provided a more in-depth instruction sheet in addition to the quick start guide. Pretty easy to set-up, but some extra detail would be nice.

Comfortable fit and high quality sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I like this headset as this is my first one owned. The headband is very comfortable and adjustable to various fits. The ear piece on each side is adjustable and easily fits my larger ears. I like the ability of the microphone to be able to push up or down as needed. When up, it cancels out and mutes the microphone. When hooked up to my laptop with Windows 10 the setup was fast and fairly easy. The sound heard through the headset is clear and crisp for my needs. I don't have much experience with headsets like this and don't know what other brands sound like. I think the sound is quick and responsive and doesn't have any lag. I was able to experience high quality sound and music all while sitting 15 feet away from my laptop. I'm hoping these can last me a long time and continue to provide a strong battery life as they are while still being new.

Atmos is the next 5.1
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones sound fantastic! Great frequency response. I was really impressed with how well they worked when Atmos material is played through them. I played some Atmos demo's through them, and then played the same Demo through my 5.1 surround system, and the headphones nailed it while the 5.1 didn't even come close. I really enjoyed gaming with these as well. It was nice to be completely surrounded by sound, it really helped with the realism of the game. The headphones aren't to heavy, and they fit pretty comfortable after I adjusted them to my head size. I did sorta feel like they might have been squeezing my head a bit to tightly, but on the plus side, I could move around and even softly headbang to music and they stayed put on my ears and didn't shift around. The sound quality is fantastic as I mentioned earlier, but only on EQ settings 1 and 4.. settings 2 and 3 really distort the bass and only sound ok if turned way down.

Comfortable headphones, good battery life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son does a decent amount of gaming on his pc so he's used his share of headphones to compare to the RIG 800HD. He would put these in the middle of the pack for his preference in terms of sound quality, mic quality and comfort. To be fair though, other brands that he uses are also higher in price so that may account for some of the feature differences. For gaming purposes he prefers a headset that has a stand for holding and charging. The RIG 800HD is charged via micro usb and does not come with a stand. One big positive in terms of charging is that the 800HD holds a 24 hour battery charge which is quite impressive. The headset has a nice look with the gold and black. Adjustments are kind of unique with the ability to unsnap components, reposition and snap back into place. For frequent changes I'd think a sliding design might be easier, but typically a user sets it and forgets about it. Controls on the headset itself are good with power on/off, pair, volume rotary control, game sound/chat balance and 4 EQ modes to choose from. We also tried to install Dolby Audio to try to possibly obtain adjustments for the sound balance and had no luck getting this app to install. There were other reviews for the app that stated similar install issues. The design of the mic is rather nice with a simple flip up and down to power on or off. My son received mixed feedback from other online players regarding the mic quality sound on their end compared to the desktop mic he typically uses. As to comfort, the headset is lightweight and the ear pads are a cloth type material that is quite nice and comfortable. They are not completely noise cancelling, but do a more than adequate job. Finally, as to sound quality, my son felt the balance of sound between the left and right ear was not even. He said perhaps it is the fit, but to him the right side was not as loud as the left. He noted no such issue on his old headset. I tried them out and did not notice this same imbalance, but I also do not use headphones anywhere near as much as he does. We did use the included, free activation code for Dolby Atmos for Xbox One & Windows 10. In terms of gaming this presently has a very limited use since few games have this feature. However, we did try it on some Dolby Atmos videos on the pc and I'd have to say it is pretty impressive. The surround sound effect is really quite amazing. In summary, we feel as though this gaming headset rated mixed reviews compared to competitors due to uneven sound issue between ear cups, lack of a stand/charger and mixed mic quality. For gaming, my son definitely felt there were better options. I'd just say the Atmos surround sound was pretty cool so if you have a desire for that this headset may be a good option.

Nice Headset, definately a Gamers Headset.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this cool Plantronics Wireless RIG 800 HD Headset to review, I try and be as thorough and precise as possible, this one I questioned as it stumped me. We had our son use it and give us a review it. He is a gamer, like extreme going to competitions. He does have a home PC gaming system. Now we have Hi Speed cable internet. 100 Mbps. Computer is a 1 year old desktop PC running Windows 10, USB 3.0 and Microsoft account so we met all the requirements. The game was an on line game called Mindcraft and Counterstrike Global Offensive. He complained of issues such as choppy staticy audio as well as the loss of use of his mouse and keyboard?! The sound was like as he explained talking on a Walkie Talkie. His mouse and Keyboard are not wireless but USB plug in. He went on to explain this happened no matter what he was on such as a game or site such as YouTube. He was impressed with the battery life as well as to how comfortable it was when wearing it. None of this made sense to me. Since then I got them back and recently tried them. Using my 4 year old Dell Latitude Intel Core i5 vpro Laptop running Windows 7 Professional. Plugged into my USB 2.0 port and after 5 minutes it was installed quickly via Windows Drivers Update on line. Now this headset sat untouched for 4 months due recovery from Hurricane Florence and battery was still high. I tried various sites. Everything came in clear, I experienced no issues with my Laptops keyboard or touch pad and wireless mouse which happened to be on 2.4 ghtz. I'm baffled and not quite sure why his experience was different than mine so I was hesitant to leave a review that wasn't fair but this is what we ran into. It feels well, sturdy and of solid construction. There isn't a whole lot of documentation but pretty straight forward. It pairs easily to its small USB plug In Transmitter which has about a 2 ft plug lead so you can position it where needed and not plugged into the rear where it can get hit and broken off. The transmitter is about 1 1/2" x 1 1/2 " by 1/2" thick. I walked across and outside to where normally my LG Wireless Headset would start to lose signal and get choppy but these didn't. A few more notes, the volume knob adjusted the PC volume when turned, the headset has a balance knob to adjust game sound balance to team players chat. Like most headsets of today there really is no way to make it really loud! Too much emphasis on safety so you can't hurt your ears but plenty loud enough. Battery life is unreal and the self adjusting headset is super comfortable. Has anyone experienced similar issues? Due to Hurricane Florence I didn't jump on this to try and sort out if there was a hardware conflict but I'm the type to try and figure it out no matter what. I plan on trying it myself on our home pc using my wireless Keyboard and mouse again as well as on a co workers gaming PC in the next week or two try and narrow it down but I had no issues. I truly think we have some sort of hardware conflict on our Sons gaming pc. I will update as soon as possible but I would recommend this headset with caution to try it.

Solid choice for PC headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my opinion, this unit is a solid choice for a PC headset for any purpose. I got these more for work, rather than playing games, and I have been very happy with the performance. The headset is comfortable on my head all day, and since moving to these from my previous headsets I have received compliments on the voice quality. The long battery life means I don't have to manage charging through the day, and I specifically got them for the wireless range (much better than bluetooth). I also like that when I move the microphone up it mutes my audio, and it also makes an "beep" to know I'm muted. They are easy to connect to the dongle and will tell you how much charge that remains. I would recommend these for anybody!

Excellent consumer set of headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only reason I didn't give the RIG 800HD wireless headphones a 5 out of 5 stars is because of bass peaking. No matter what EQ setting (and there are four) I set, once volume is above 50% on a PC, low frequencies simply start flattening out, and that's not always a pleasurable thing to hear. Regardless, keep reading, because that's the worst part of the headset! How's that for a review opener? But let's get back to the beginning. I did rate this set of headphones 4 out of 5 for a reason: overall, Plantronics has done it again with creating a really good set of consumer-level headphones. And with Dolby Atmos licensing, they are correct in stating in their marketing that sound reproduction is lag-free and really worth listening to. I'm an audiophile; I naturally have perfect tonal memory, so I'm always leaning my hearing towards how any sound reproduction is making things "supposed" to sound, and it drives me batty when a particular manufacturer doesn't get it right. In this case, however, I think Plantronics can certainly rate among the highest in consumer/prosumer devices. Like its wired brethren, the RIG 800HD is built with quality in mind. The only "exception" that I see is that the wired versions of Plantronics' headsets contain metal across the skull line, whereas the 800HD uses plastic instead; it's not cheap plastic, but it's not as nice as metal. A great feature is the ability to hook the headphones up to an Xbox using fiber cabling (I wasn't able to test this at review time). While this really defeats the purpose of going wireless, it is at least an option for hard-core gamers. A potential negative with a wireless headset setup is that charging the set and creating the "wireless bridge" for the set (via a square-looking USB-based box) will require having two separate USB ports if both cables are going to be used. On the bright side, I can simultaneously charge and listen. Going through various sound tests, I'm noticing that EQ level three of four does seem to handle all sound best, even with movie trailers and such. Granted, there are several aspects to wireless sound reproduction: the foundational PC, the sound board/port, wireless bridge, and finally the ear muff speakers themselves; so that's a lot to synchronize to produce a really good sound field. While you might think I'm being a bit harsh on Plantronics, let me just say that Dolby Atmos integration really is superb, and while I get bothered by some frequency peaking, for those who simply want a great sound experience and aren't nearly as analytical as I am when it comes to sound, these will do exceptionally well for you. The RIG 800HD is a definite recommend.

Best sound I've heard from a headset!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start off with a caveat, I'm nowhere near an audiophile. That being said, WOW! The volume levels can get so high with so little distortion, listening to music is great because of the awesome bass, but games are on a whole new level. Coming from a higher end gaming stereo set from one of the biggest gaming accessory manufacturers, is a crazy difference. You cannot tell the set is wireless, its surprisingly not super heavy, and hugs/cuddles your head. (I have a massive head, maxed it out, and it fits extremely comfortably) If you need a wireless PC gaming headset, look no further! (or at least check out the RIG lineup, they ROCK!)

My son won't put them down!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son absolutely loves these Plantronics wireless gaming headset. He games more hours than he should, 6 to 7 hours a day, so he loves that he doesn't have to constantly recharge them. He also likes that they are very soft on his ears. His biggest thumbs up has come on the sound quality. He has a pair of turtle beach headset, but with the fact that the Plantronics has the Dolby Atmos upgrade, in his mind there is no comparison. He likes that with this wireless headset you can mute yourself by easily moving the mic up. Overall, I have never seen him happier with a pair of headsets than I have seen him with these Plantronics.

Decent Wireless Gaming Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Plantronics RIG800HD are a decent pair of wireless headphones. I do a fair amount of pc gaming and have owned several high end gaming headsets from Astro's to Turtle Beaches. These are a solid pair of mid priced gaming headsets if you dont feel the need to spend $300+ these hit the sweet spot. The RIG800HD comes with wireless base you can plug in to your pc with a USB connection, a USB charging cable, and a downloadable code for Dolby Atmos. Some things I liked about the RIG800HD are the fit, this headset is very comfortable and lightweight. Easy setup, just plugged base into pc and ready to go. Sound is decent for what you pay for, the included Dolby Atmos is also a plus though not many games right now support it but I am sure they will in the future. It also has a preset EQ button on the bottom of the right ear cup. You can set it to one of preset EQ modes, pure, intensify, seismic, and vocal focus. Main controls are on the left ear cup which include game sound and team chat volume, power button, master volume and charging port. The only thing I did not like about the RIG800HD is the plasticky look of the headband, I own a RIG500 which costs less but has a better build quality feel with its metal headband. I can live with it since it sits on top of my head and is out of sight. Overall it is a decent headset.

Fits just right!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a tricky product to test and rate as we all know, like a pair of shoes sometimes the fit is just a bit off and it doesn't feel like your favorite pair so we go back to the old trusty pair of shoes. Well for me this headset fit just right outa the box. It was preset to medium and so from the beginning it just felt good nice lite fit and can wear this for hours and not get tired of this being on my head. . It has sort of manual adjustments that can be made with snap out and snap back in. The lower band is the nice feature hear, it has a lot of play and conforms to any head size/shape.As for the features... The RIG wireless sync was a snap, no problem. Downloaded the Dolby Atmos App from the windows store (Code in the box) and so the app is made from the Folks at Dolby Laboratories, and even when the source is not Atmos, the quality is outstanding. The voice function is also nice and easily moves from high to low with ease. The volume is easily set on the left ear side as well as the communication to speak and upper left side. Very nicely done large wheel adjustment. So 5 stars for this. I have read that some people are hearing a pinging noise when there is no source material or game on but I didn't hear this. Again I'm not saying it doesn't happen I just didn't hear it. As for the look, it has carbon fiber look with black and gold trim. I give this 5 stars for quality, price, comfort. The only con I have is this does not have a charging stand for the headset, but overall I still give this 5 stars. I would highly recommend this to any gamer!!!

Great Headphones, just missing something.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start off simply saying if you're looking for great sound quality with wireless headphones these are an amazing option. Un-simply I would start off by saying what it lacked and I start with it because it has everything to do with what you get. You paid a decent amount for these to find cheap feeling plastic on the headphones themselves. If I paid under a certain amount I'd expect it. The other thing is there isn't a dock to charge or even a stand to hold the headphones which for those who dont know there is other options out there that do. You get a cable with a box attached so it can connect to the computer and a micro USB cable which is old in today's standard to charge the unit. Once you get past those gripes they are great sound. Even before you enable the Dolby atmos side of them. The headphones are also pretty unique looking and I have gotten compliments on them multiple times. Would I recommend these headphones and it's a yes all around. I just hope that the next versions charge a little bit more if they have to and give us a little bit more. That's all and I hope my review helped you.
