    Bass Distortion

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The low range sounds are distorted and create static. Sure the Dolby Atmos is a nice feature, but what good is that “immersion” when you’re taken out of it every time a grenade explodes or an engine vrooms. I shouldn’t hear static from a $150 pair of headphones, especially during those big loud bassy moments. I expect more for my money.

    Frequent disconnections

    Posted .

Worked great for the first hour or so. Then it disconnected in the middle of the game. I tried to re-pair it, but it didn't work. I changed the USB port, and this worked for the next hour that I played that day. Next day, same thing happened. Except when I changed USB port to re-pair it, my party could hear me, but I could not hear my party or the game. Was really looking forward to these headphones. They sound great when they work, but the frequent disconnection is not tolerable.

Hi Katie! We thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on our RIG 800LX. We're sorry to hear about your experience. Please make sure you try resetting the connection between the adapter and your headset. To do so: 1- Make sure the device switch, on the back of the USB receiver, is set to Gaming Console before you connect it to a different USB port in the Xbox One. 2- On the USB receiver, press and hold the link button until you see the light flashing red and blue. 3- On the headset, hold the power switch in the upmost position until it starts alternating red and blue. Once the light is off, the procedure is complete. You might also want to try testing your headset with a PC to isolate the issue and see if you get the same experience. If you get the same results, then most likely there is an actual problem with the unit and should be replaced. This unit has a one-year warranty from date of purchase. Buzzing, crackling, will not stay connected

This headset will not stay connected to my xbox to save my life. I already had them (Plantronics) replace it one time and still it will not stay connecting. I have used other headsets and they seem to work. The headset will also buzz and crackle and distort sound. As well as say "disconnected" but stay connected and just BLAST sound into my ears. Too late to return it to best buy so $150 down the drain.

Bought this headset about 3 months ago and for the first month it worked perfect. Now it never keeps connection and is always full of static. For the price you pay for it you should get more than a month of solid use out of it. Time to shop around and find one that doesn’t lose mic connection and have to constantly be synced during games.

    Great sound but other issues

I enjoyed the sound these produced and the wireless connectivity. However after day 1 the mic would not work. You could hear the mic mute/un-mute tone but it would not transmit chat any longer. I tried a different usb port and ensured it was set to Xbox with no success. I returned them to Bestbuy and decided to go with TB PX24 (great customer care). I have had great success with Turtle Beach in the past and will go to the wireless 700s when available at my store. I was really hopeful for these.

    The microphone will go bad

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought two RIG 800 headsets one for my son and one for me. The mics on both of them became so filled with static that people could not understand what we were saying. I contacted Nacon support, they gave me a dozen excuses why they couldn't help me and even more excuses why they could not replace or fix my headsets. I spoke with Juanita and Maxine and they both just passed me off to each other and refused to help me. Do not buy this headset it will go bad within a year and you will not be able to replace it or get any support when it does.

Was great, until it broke a few months later

Bought this headset about 4 months ago. Was excellent quality while it lasted. After a couple months, it started disconnecting from wireless and I had to replug the adapter from the xbox. As of the past couple days, the headset portion of it started failing to pick up audio unless I adjusted the microphone to a certain angle. For a couple days, others said it was static, and I found the microphone fold-down wiring began to wear to the point that it would not pickup audio. As of today, my $150 headset purchase is now in the trash as it is non-functional.

I bought this a little over a year ago. After a period of no use I tried to charge it and it won’t accept a charge. Now RIG is part of Nacon Gaming. I emailed their support, but no response. https://www.plantronics.com/us/en/support/gaming?_ga=2.186003369.1820596258.1585082778-737519650.1584923601

This is a $150 dollar headset that you cannot use on your mobile device or A/V reciever? What were they thinking. And they don't even let you know that it isn't compatible with those. Save your money and pick up a pair of HyperX Cloud Alphas instead.

My headphones stopped turning on or charging about 3 months after purchasing. This seems to be a common problem others are having as well. Save yourself the hassle of navigating the warranty process. Avoid these headphones.
