I purchased this because I wanted Dolby Atmos even when I couldn't use my surround sound. This headset doesn't disappoint. I have used this on my Series X and Ps5, as well as my S24 Ultra/Samsung TV. I purchased this as an open-box, so it took a bit of research to factory reset (The user manual is just a series of Youtube videos on various features/settings) Connecting to my Series X was pretty straightforward plugging the dongle directly into the console and having the dongle switch on Game. Connecting to my PS5 was a little more labor intensive as the video tutorials did not solve my issue. When connecting the dongle directly to the console, I made sure that the switch was set to PC. The audio prompt in the headset said usb connected, and even showed up under the Sound Menu as RIG 900 MAX PRO. However I couldn't get any sound to come through the headset. I eventually noticed that the light on the dongle was slow-blinking. I decided to try plugging the dongle to the charging base, then plugging the base into the back usb port of the ps5. The headset showed up again in the Sound menu and the audio prompt in the headset said "Connected." I was able to get sound through the headset and noticed the light on the dongle was a solid white color. At this point, you can just use the dongle directly plugged into the front usb port or continue utilizing it via charging base. I am very pleased with the overall sound that Dolby Atmos brings. The bass is very deep and the vocals pronounced. And the battery! I have used this for several days and still had plenty of juice left. The charging base takes about 4 hours to fully charge, or roughly 2 hours when charging through the console. The ear muff padding is comfortable and the headband is adjustable. I have no issues with movement where I had to constantly adjust. I haven't really explored the Dual Mode on the headset for having multiple devices connected simultaneously or used the mic aside from the inital setup. I like that flipping the boom up and down controls the mute function. The app is pretty rudimentary and only works when the headset is used in bluetooth mode. You have the ability to change equalizer settings as well as audio enhancements. There is also a diagnostic page that lets you test all of the functions to make sure they operate. My biggest gripe is the lack of detailed instructions and that their support is limited to email only. I found most answers via reddit or other online forums, as well as just figuring things out myself. The key is to not be quick to throw in the towel if you experience connection issues like I did at first.

I have had my fair share of Microsoft headsets as well as turtle beaches that I’ve spent plenty on money on just to have them break or stop working which is frustrating when you’ve paid $300+. However these are by far my favorite headset! They adjustable, wireless, extremely comfortable and best of reliable lol. They come with Dolby Atmos which is great too. They connect to several devices and even have a dual connection feature. Battery life is outstanding. Sound is immaculate!! I would recommend these over and over again to anyone looking for a dependable headset. Well worth the money spent!

I have to say with the price I had to spend with this (Actually got $100 off for a sale hehe) this is by far one of the best built headsets I have ever worn and I come from Triton and OEM Xbox but not only is the Dolby Atmos top tier it goes on ALL systems just with a plug and play with a flip of a switch you go from Xbox to PlayStation with EASE. Forget all the other Headphones this is one what will last you YEARS and still have the best sound Quality on the market. Couldn't recommend more stars but it was WORTH EVERY BIT!!!

    Got it for Starfield

Hands down the best premium wireless headset for the value and it has a charge base. It competes with headsets that are $350 but brings more features and is super comfortable. Bought it just to play Starfield. This headset shines in every aspect, materials, comfort, lightweight, build quality, sound quality, and only lacks a little bit in Bluetooth function. Bluetooth allows you to get notifications and take calls while gaming on Xbox but you can't mx in music. No big deal for me because I enjoy the sounds of the game. And the sound is amazing with Dolby Atmos. This headset also has flip to mute and a volume control wheel that doubles as game/chat balance for Xbox. It doesn't have active noise cancellation like the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. That headset costs an extra $100!. It bullies it in every other category. This headset has the best soundstage and ease of use compared to any headset that is within $250. The charge base with separate USB wireless adapter isn't even available in the Stealth Pro or any SteelSeries. I would pay $350 for this headset if that’s what it was sold for. I love everything about it, the price, lightweight, great build quality and materials, durability. This beats every other gaming headset by a mile.

Glad that it’s universal for PC, Switch, Xbox, and PS5. Took me a while to understand most of the controls and the need for the app to activate my mic. But in the end, it was worth it.

    RIG doesn’t disappoint

ahh yes RIG with their latest headset! 900 Max still keep their signature look, i’ve own 2 gen of 800 series and this had the same look except this one has metal band or I guess steal, it add that feeling that its premium above the previous version, honestly it looks amazing! you still have to manually adjust each ear cuff, around the ear, it’s comfortable around your ears and no issue from wearing it after multiple hrs. charging doc is also the same, you can plug the small dongle separately, i’ve tried it on my PC and my xbox series x. works flawlessly with no issue, mic is flip to mute they been around so nothing new on this part, I usually but the microphone quality is better than rig 800. Rig 900 Max sound quality great! Rig haven’t disappointed and I think quality of the audio is better than astro this have 49mm dynamic drivers and playing Halo, COD on this sounds way better than Astro. Starfield with soundtracks playing in the background sounds amazing, great bass and terrible that’s very satisfying listening in your ears. I also highly recommend using the Dolby Atmos app feature that Rig offers customize your audio preference that suit you. honestly I can’t really tell the difference that atmos add when it comes to games when it comes to competitive shooter, but single player games like starfield sounds amazing another feature that’s been added is the bluetooth feature, it’s useful when you re getting phone calls while gaming and can just switch to bluetooth the audio to chat is also different on this one now it’s just a button to which between on 800 series it’s a nob that you can adjust, I think I prefer the older way for myself. overall i’m very happy with Rig 900 Max that’s worth the purchase. they haven’t disappointed me when it comes to gaming headsets and Rig 900 Max is a home run for me. 50 hrs battery life is more than enough to last you every single day for gaming

This headset is beyond nice, and without a doubt the best gaming headset I've owned. It has some incredibly well thought-out features, such as flipping the microphone up to mute. I am frequently having to mute my headset to talk to somebody, so this feature is incredibly useful. There is an audio sound that goes with this to let you know that you've actually muted or unmuted yourself The headset will immediately activate Dolby Atmos as soon as you plug it into a Windows 11 computer. I didn't even have to pair my headset with bluetooth, it automatically paired as soon as I plugged it in. The charging base is a great feature, but you will rarely use it, as I've easily gotten 30+ hours out of these without having to recharge. The connections on the charger and the headset are USB-C, and plugging directly into the headset allows for a fast charge. The headset overall is very comfortable to wear, and it's incredibly easy to adjust the size. It's also really lightweight, so it won't weigh on you after extended use. The USB receiver will let you use it for all your devices, so it makes I can also bluetooth this to my work phone and take work calls, which is a huge blessing. My one and only complaint is that you can't switch the microphone to the other side. I prefer the mic on my right side, but this one is left oriented.Otherwise, this headset is absolutely amazing!

COMFORT: They are very comfortable to me (I am a female and most aren’t comfortable to me and are too big but without this headset adjusted at all it fits pretty comfortably). When it’s adjusted to be larger it fits my boyfriend as well so this is a great headset for either female or male. SOUND: I’m not audio/sound wizard or professional but the sound so far is very good. I’ve mainly played Fortnite br and Destiny 2 with this headset. I’m still messing around with different games to see the difference between different noises and using the volume mixer settings on Xbox One to see what sounds best. On Xbox One I’m able to press the home button, go over to System, and then to Audio to control the headset volume, adjust headset chat mixer, or mic monititoring. This headset does have the slider on the right ear so you are able on XB1 to get all your volume levels setup and then just use the volume slider on the headset ear if it’s to loud or quiet. Now that I have messed around with it a bit more I don’t find the need to go back into the audio settings on Xbox to adjust them, I have left them at a certain level that seems to be working great. However, for me I liked having all those volume control settings next to the controller but again maybe I can get used to it. Last thing is I’m messing around with trying Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos for headphones since I read you can use these features with headphones that don’t have surround sound or do have it and as some say it makes a world of a difference... I’m still testing this out on Xbox One to see if they do make a difference with sound. MIC/PARTY CHAT: Using Xbox party chat is huge and a must for me. I use it to talk to my Husband who I play games with from different rooms as well as friends. The first day I got these, I connected to a party chat and instantly he stated it was making a humming or some sort of low pitched noise. He isn’t into tech issues or troubleshooting so this was very hard for me to fix or understand since only he heard this noise. The next day he said he doesn’t hear it at all but I’m still a bit concerned so I’ll be trying to join other people in a party to see if they hear anything not right. Update: it looks like this issue may have went away and was either related to being new, my Husbands headset, and/or me being in the Xbox insider alpha program. MUTE FEATURE: The other thing that may just be something I have to get used to is the mic mute method on this headset, having to pull the mic up or down is something I feel takes more time than just pressing a mute button like I’m used to but like I said maybe I’ll get used to it. My boyfriend likes the mute method that the Stinger has more than me since he has a habit of putting up his mic even with his mic not having this feature. I think this is just a preference and dependent on if you can get used to it. OVERALL RATING: 9/10 I would recommend this headset to someone. For the price and the quality you get I don’t feel there’s a better headset you’ll find!! I hope my review helps you and if you have any.

I've owned the RIG 800 and had the chance to upgrade to the 900. Charging base works great. Battery life is amazing on both headsets. Weight is what I'd call normal. The ear pads are deep and soft without being sweaty. Earcup tension isn't overly tight and keeps the headset positioned. The audio is well balanced, voices are clear and music sounds natural, not boomy.

I bought the RIG 900 MAX HX about a week ago and am really happy, its better then my old A40. Pros: Fit - the ear pads are really comfortable Charging Dock - My wife likes that the headphone isn’t just lying around Dolby Atmos - The new personalization feature really helps expand the audio. Rig 900 is the only one with this feature. Microphone - I like that moving the mic up mutes it and it tells me so Battery - I have played at least 25 hours and the battery is still going Volume - the volume wheel is really large - makes it easier to find since you can’t see it. Cons: Charing - the wire is way too short for me (frustrating to have to find another) No comment: haven’t tried bluetooth to phone

So, let me spill the tea on these gaming headphones for the Xbox Series X - they're legit amazing! The sound quality is next level, like, you can literally hear every footstep and explosion. And guess what? They've got Dolby Atmos integration that takes the whole gaming experience up a notch. It's like surround sound on steroids. Now, I won't lie, they're a smidge tight on the head, but once you settle in, it's game on. They're surprisingly comfy for those marathon gaming sessions. So, if you're looking to level up your Xbox game, these headphones are the real deal – great sound, cool Dolby Atmos vibes, and just snug enough to keep you in the zone for those all-night gaming binges.

RIG headsets have always been extremely cost efficient for me and absolutely worth what you pay. The battery life on this thing is straight up dark magic, meaning I use it frequently and charge it maybe once every 3-6 weeks… How did they do that? And of course the charger stand that you sit the headset in is much more aesthetically pleasing compared to those cords. Overall very durable, comfortable, good for your wallet (opinion), and reliable!

I bought several of these. Best Buy had one and the others from another vendor. The fit is strange at first but very comfortable. The setup was very easy. I can't speak to the battery life because it would not hold a charge. I used a long USB-C cable to keep them alive while gaming. Tech support was great, we updated the firmware, ran through several resets, and finally I had to return them to the store, but the performance and sound was unmatched. My last set was the A50's until they finally died.
