pros - it’s wired controller than can be use for Xbox consoles and PC as welll - thick 3m braided cable so won’t you want have to worry about the wire breaking any time soon, it’s also long enough for you to have a playing distance from your console to tv. - made with entirely plastic - each anolog stick have their own RIG design, it add that extra characters to the controller - no issues with analog sensitivity as well, this one of the most important for me to check on when it comes to testing new controller, would this change my in game sensitivity or would it feel natural. no issues at all - I personally prefer the D of feeling of this RIG controller than the original ones, less clicky sounds . - RIG also have their own dedicated app to customize the controller when using the windows computer, the setting is fairly identical to what microsoft offer on their app to customize your controller. - very robust app for customizing your controller, very impressive, great job for Nacon for creating this addition feature - to use these setting at the back at the controller you will see a switch button to go back from standard setup or your custom setting - the controller also comes with dolby atmos activation, does come with an actual code to punch in, but once you plug the controller with headset, just don’t download the dolby app and should unlock the app cons - having issue connecting can’t turn the console on with the xbox button - a lot smaller than standard xbox controller and it felt weird using from an adult size hands. I would recommend this controller for kids - the grip distance for me does feel quite different from what i’m use to, doesn’t feel natural, the distance from LB RB to trigger also take some muscle memory to remember how different the distance between these and the original controller - the back textures compared to the original xbox series controller also doesn’t come close, I get a much better grip from the original controller - it’s called a pro compact controller - didn’t like the fact that the menu setting button we’re quite a little too close to the analog and Y button, mid center location is where i’d choose - couldn’t really tell if the dolby atmos app actually does work from what they tell you, since I already own the app i’m not sure if it actually worked.

I got this controller because of the customization and also the Dolby Atmos feature without having to spend a ton on one of those headsets. Overall I like the look and fell of the controller right out the box until I started to play. I play mostly FPS so the customization via the software was nice to set thresholds on the triggers and I did notice a difference in the response time when turned on via the switch on the back of the controller. Pros: -Controller has built in Dolby Atmos via a plugged in headset and sounds great when adjusted via the sound settings in the XBOX Dashboard. I used my Turtle Beach Headset that was connected to my XBOX via USB before - Buttons are slightly larger than a standard XBOX Controller and I liked that since my hands are a little bigger - Has a nice long USB cord to be able to reach my XBOX across the room without becoming a tripping hazard -Software was easy to setup and configure to use with the toggle switch on the back of the controller with multiple default profiles or you can customize each button individually or remap to your liking - Trigger and shoulder buttons are very solid feeling and I like them as much as if not more than my Elite Controller Cons - If you have larger hands then your pinkies will not have anywhere to rest or grab onto - Due to this your hands may cramp up or just be uncomfortable which will limit how long you will want to play with the controller - Share button is right between the D-Pad and Right Thumbstick so you may end up hitting it by mistake if playing a frenzied fighting game and using the D-Pad Overall I like the look and functionality of the controller I just can't use it for long periods of time due to my hands being larger. It is considerably lighter than the Elite controller so that could be a Pro or Con for someone. If you like your pinkies to hang off or being free OR just have smaller hands where all your fingers will fit then this might be a great controller for you.

Just as Nacon says, this is certainly a compact controller. The matte finish helps to keep smudges and fingerprints away, but that is not the case on the glossy topside. I appreciate the simple layout and share/option buttons placement since it helps to avoid pressing them by mistake, as I have done so on the original more than a few times. The 3-meter (9.8 in) is long enough to reach across my living room but I di find it a bit too stiff for my liking. Nevertheless, it’s quite sturdy and hopefully, it will soften up with time and use. Ergonomically, it is OK. I have medium-sized hands and often found myself with my pinky fingers hanging out from the bottom of the handles. It’s a small nitpick, but I like to have a full grip on the controller. The action buttons feel a bit “plasticky” but were very responsive. The D-pad is less clicky than the original, but I personally like it better that way. The RB/LB shoulder buttons feel great, but the triggers feel like they need more travel. The analog sticks have a good range and are quite springy. They are accurate and I did not notice any drifting whatsoever. My thumbs did slip a few times since there is no texture on the edge of the sticks, which is not great for sweaty hands. As far as options, the Pro Compact can be remapped and adjusted for sensitivity by using the app, which is a nice touch. The sound coming out of this controller is what you’d expect. It’s loud and clear, especially if you are using Dolby Atmos software. In the end, I think the Nanco Pro Compact Controller is an excellent supplementary controller to the original. While the ergonomics may not suit everyone, I suspect it’s great for small-handed individuals and kids. Plus, you’d never have to worry about running out of battery!

I like this controller alot and would give it 5 stars but being that its not even 1 month with it the right trigger gets stuck if you hold it down for about 3 secs and then pops out on its own about a sec after you let go and no fun with that especially on need for speed when you dont need speed when you let go of it but still goes and i smash a wall

THE BREAKDOWN: This RIG Nacon is small and compact as advertised. It almost seemed like a Playstation controller rather than an Xbox controller. The controller itself seems well built and reliable through my use of it thus far. I noticed no stick drift/creep at all to this point. The buttons are well placed, and I did not find myself hitting them by mistake like I do on my regular full size wireless controller. The cord length was more than adequate. I have fairly large hands and for me this controller was too small. I found that the points/ends of the controller dug into the palm of my hand making it uncomfortable for long periods of play. One other thing that I found was that the triggers could use more travel for my personal setup. The Dolby Atmos worked as intended for this device. This controller can be remapped by using the app which was pretty straight forward and easy to use. PRO’s: -Compact design -Ample cord length at 9.8ft/3m -Remapping of the controller through app CON’s: -Found it small for large hands -Trigger travel needs to be increased SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this that is portable and gets the job done.

Lighter and no need for batteries

There are many differences between a wireless and wired controller but personally feel that wired is the way to go. There is no more worrying about batteries dying at the wrong moment or finding out at the wrong time that you have no more to replace it with. There is no chance that some other device may interfere with the signal of a wired controller like that of a wireless. Even the audio is better when wired all the way than through a wireless controller, especially in an area where there are a lot of wireless devices or multiple consoles. This RIG Nancon PRO compact controller brings all the benefits of a wired controller in a slightly smaller and lighter format than the typical Xbox controller. To me, it feels more like a PlayStation controller with an Xbox layout. It is smaller in the grip area, but most of the buttons still feel and look to be about the same spacing. The only real difference in button placement that may take a second to get used to are the menu buttons. The Pro features come in when you install the Pro Compact app through the Microsoft Store. Through here you can swap buttons around, change the response curve on the thumbsticks and adjust the trigger dead space. What wasn’t so obvious with the included material is that in order to take advantage of these advanced settings you have to flip the switch on the backside so that you can see purple, instead of green. Green is pretty much the default Xbox while purple is for the customized profile. I only learned this through the online manual as it wasn’t so obvious with the limited documentation included. Another feature, and common with RIG, is the inclusion of Dolby Atmos for headphones. Once you connect the controller and install the Dolby Access app, it allows you to change the audio settings to Dolby Atmos for headphones and makes a world of difference with spatial audio. The fact you don’t have to scratch off an activation code made that process really simple. With a pair of wired headphones using the 3.5mm jack on the controller I had crystal clear and uninterrupted audio. I found this controller to really help improve gaming as the response time is noticeable when directly compared to a wireless controller. The Pro features add some aspects of what you find in the more pricey Elite versions of controllers. The buttons and sticks feel responsive. However, the compact size may not be for everyone. I’m a fairly large person and the size of the standard Xbox controller fills my hands. Even the PS4 controllers allow all my fingers to grip the controller. This Nacon Compact is just small enough that my pinky finger now rests under the controller, essentially curled to my hand and not the controller. It’s not a bad thing, but for my large hands it does create a little discomfort for long play sessions. This controller also does not have the expansion port for other accessories, so if you use something like a controller keyboard, it will not work with this controller. Regardless, I still enjoy this controller.

This product is priced very very well for what you get. Wired(low latency), customizable through pro compact software. Semi Hardcore Gaming oriented. And well built. This is a budget gaming controller for Xbox/pc. And it’s a slightly smaller form factor as well. For me I have pretty large hands and I game every day. Mainly PC. But also on my Xbox one X. I like this controller. But it’s too small for me. But perfect for my 8 yr who loves Roblox and has her own gaming pc as well. She loves it. I did set my gaming settings via the app on my pc. And put mainly all FPS settings. While they help with responsiveness and accuracy. The size gets in the way. But this is labeled as compact. Buttons feel good. The wire is plenty long. No issues there. For the retail price. You/I really can’t complain. I do wish that this version had back buttons. But I do understand the price would go up a bit. Also the thumbs sticks aren’t the exact same size as the original Xbox one controller. So you can’t put your controlfreeks thumb sticks on. They slide around. Head phone jack works as well. I have paired these with the Rig 3D headphones and they work perfectly together. Now my daughter pleaded with me to have both. Lol. We shall see. For the price. You are getting a great deal for less than a stock Microsoft controller. With great gaming features. And a well respected gaming brand. You really can’t go wrong. I’d recommend to a friend or family if they have smaller hands or even for younger children. Xmas is always around the corner.

    A Solid Wired Controller

This is a very comfortable feeling controller albeit a smaller controller than the standard Xbox series/ One X/ Elite controllers. It makes up for its size with shear length of the braided USB A cable. More than enough length to sit comfortably away from your console and screen. It's programmable via a Microsoft link, but not at all necessary (whatever makes you feel better though). The volume can be optimized via the link, as well, to give you great sound while gaming. It compliments my headset very well and is really affordable. Only flaw is the fact that it's wired. But that explains the price, but still, it's a great controller. I will recommend this controller my fellow PC gamers, as well.

I am loving this Xbox controller. Its very well built and feels sturdy, no plastic creaking at all. The two analog sticks seem to have a couple of metal rings, it does make it look great and I guess adds more stability (check my pics). The buttons are great, and the bumpers and triggers feel amazing, almost like an original Microsoft controller, if not better. The only thing I do not think lives up to the new series x controller, is the D-pad. It is a little mushy, but not that bad, its just that after trying the one on the controller of the series x, it makes anything else feel mushy. The controller is a wired one, but it is a long wire and very sturdy (has like a ribbed-paracord texture to it) and it has an emergency disconnect (so you do not pull your console with it if someone trips with the cable). I know everyone likes wireless, but with this one, you do not need to worry about batteries, besides the cable is super long. Other than that, it has all the buttons you would expect (including the new share button from the series x), and a minijack for headsets. I downloaded its software from the windows app store, and I was pleasantly surprised that it lets you configure almost anything, to the point that you can configure the resistance of each bumper, trigger, stick etc. individually based on the type of game you are playing (stock presets), or you can customize it to your pleasure, this is great! You can check my pics for examples. Finally, compatibility, it has worked fine with a OG Xbox, series x and my PC too!

The RIG Nacon Compact Controller is a small, but reliable controller. Just like most miniature controllers, it's designed for certain users. However, the size difference really didn't standout during gameplay. I'm a person with long fingers so it took a while to get adjusted. My fear would be catching a cramp while playing, but that didn't occur. The controller feels great in the hand, and the face buttons are slightly larger than standard Xbox controller which is great to compensate for the lack of size. Also, the cable length is more than adequate for wired gaming. The real bonus is the enablement of Dolby Atmos. I prefer wireless gaming, but the sound experience is grand enough for me to overlook the wires across the floor. Overall, the controller is comfortable and very customizable. The only downside is that I wished it was slightly bigger. Nevertheless, this controller works well.

The RIG Nacon Pro controller in my mind is like a combo between the Xbox and PlayStation. You have the offset thumb sticks from the Xbox and the more diminutive size of the PS. Combine that with the slightly oversized face buttons, and you get an easy to use and comfortable controller for extended gaming sessions. One of the big selling points of this controller is the fact that you get a free subscription to the Dolby Atmos for headphones. I had already purchased this a while ago on my Xbox but now I have it for my gaming laptop since it works for either system. That being said, the headphone connector makes it easy to plug in your favorite headphones into the controller and get great sound. It sounds just as good as I was used to previously and now I get that great sound for my laptop. Build quality is nice for the price. Buttons are responsive and the texture of the controller is nice for maintaining your grip in tense situations. Buttons, triggers, and sticks are tight and responsive. The cable has a nicely braided cover and solid strain relief built in. The only quibble I have build-wise is the direction pad, which feels a bit “squishy” for my taste. I haven’t used the customization software and probably won’t since I rarely change layouts beyond what is available within many games, but it seems really easy to use. It is nice that you can switch easily between a program and the default set-up with the switch on the back of the controller. All-in-all this is a good quality controller with some nice extras (the Dolby Atmos download on its own is $15). This is going to be my travel controller since it is so small and light and has such a great cable.

Having so many problems with this controller. I have a Xbox one S, andafter a few weeks the audio jack has static and. With a new one the left stick doesn't allow me to move the character , forward in any games. It will move for a second and then it will pause the movement! Is okay if I move sideways on each side but going forward, running or walking the character is impossible!

    Uncomfortable & Awkward

Unfortunately, this RIG controller is simply too uncomfortable to use. It feels as though they were trying to merge the Xbox controller with Playstation’s design. The result is awkward, uncomfortable, and neither as good as a standard Xbox controller or Playstation Controller. The handles are simply too short - leaving nothing for the pinky fingers to rest on (or hold). The coating on the thumbsticks is vaguely rubberized, but much too slippery to keep your thumbs in place. Instead of triggers, the controller uses sharp edged paddles that feel awkward to squeeze. And, worst of all, the “ergonomic shape” of the handles forces each middle finger to press awkwardly against a hard plastic ridge leaving players with red marks on the inside edge of their knuckles. Also frustrating is the button layout. ...To reach the Window/View button, the thumb has to reach up and over the thumbstick which feels unnatural (and often bumps the thumbstick). The Frankenstein design is simply a mess. There are a few positives worth mentioning. The controller does have a breakaway cable - which is a must for any wired controller. The pressed texture that lines the back is actually better than what Microsoft uses on the newest Xbox Series S/X controllers and the dolby atmos sounds great. Button remapping is a cool addition, but with not a single extra paddle, or button (like what appears on the Elite Controller), I can’t imagine actually finding much of a use for the feature. Sadly, this is not a controller that I can recommend to anyone - regardless of your hand size.

Great second controller.. but too small for me

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I want to love this controller but it isn't perfect. It is compact, the grips are a bit smaller than the stock wireless xbox series x/s controllers. It could be a good thing for most, but for my large hands, it feels awkward in my hands. My pinkies literally just float under the controller. There is no room for them to rest anywhere. It isn't uncomfortable but it takes some getting used to. I have to slide my hands down far enough to the point where my "ring" fingers are gripping the bottom of the grips. Otherwise my trigger and middle fingers won't have a good hold on the trigger buttons. That being said.. it doesn't fatigue my hands over extended periods, but I feel like this controller is better suited for children or persons with small hands. The positives of this controller outweigh the negative though. The joysticks feel great, as well as the buttons and triggers. The D-Pad is click enough to use on fighting games. The haptic "rumble" motors are excellent. They work just as good, or better than the stock controller. I was able to feel the subtle rumble when pressing the brake on Forza 7 , and then the full vibration when I crashed. I like that it is wired, because I don't have to worry about the batteries running out in the middle of an intense match. The cord is long enough to sit comfortably on the couch and it has a break away connection near the USB port. Just incase someone walks by and trips on the cord. It will break away and save your console from being tugged onto the floor. Would I recommend this controller to a friend? Yes and No. If you want a cheap second controller for your xbox that also happens to work on a PC, or if you want to get your child or girlfriend a controller to use. Then I'd say go right ahead. But for my friends with large hands or if you just like bigger grippy controllers. Id say no. I don't like to have my pinky and ring fingers just hanging there, It just feels unnatural and makes trigger squeezes feel different. I can't see myself reaching for this controller too often, unless I'm out of AA batteries for my wireless controller. Pros: Excellent Rumble "Haptic" motors joysticks and buttons all feel good being connected with a wire saves you money on batteries in the long term. Downloadable app to customize buttons Cons: Too small (For me) Could not get the advertised included Dolby Atmos feature set up on my xbox.

Let me start my review by saying that I had a toddler. Yes, I know, very weird way to start a review of an XBox controller, but stick with me. The pack in controller for XBox Series X is probably the best pack in to date, but it has two fatal flaws when you have a toddler. First, it is wireless (if you have never spent 20 minutes trying to figure out where your toddler hid your controller when you are trying to get a quick session in before they wake up in the morning, you will never understand how valuable having a wired controller is). Second, it requires a proprietary headset, which is expensive (seriously, it costs a lot of money having a toddler). This controller solves both of those problems beautifully by being wired and allowing you to use any standard 3.5mm plug headset. Of course, it also does all the things that you expect a good controller to do, I have absolutely no complaints. A bit small for my preference, but to each their own.

I was in search of a controller that had a very long cord so I did not have to be so close to my TV / Laptop. I decided to try out this controller and glad to see how long the cord was. The cord is high quality, nice long USB connector so its snug and the controller itself feels good in the hands. Easily a superb controller for two reasons: Compact and smaller which doesn't compromise or have a different design from a true Xbox branded controller and the buttons and triggers are super responsive. The travel distance of buttons is shorter for a faster response time! It being wired only is not a downside because the wire is longer and there's no need to mess with AA batteries that need to be changed out. For my longer play time I greatly appreciate that I don't have to worry about cutting my game short because I don't have enough power. The other advantage is how dynamic it is and how I can use it with the Xbox and my gaming PC! Great controller!

The gamepad seems sturdy enough but to small for big hands. The product is very light. Because it is small, button placement is too cramped. I would constantly see myself mispressing buttons like the pause button and the LB button, which is not good for any online multi-player online game.

    Rig Controller

The RIG Gaming compact controller is surprisingly impressive. It's a wired controller but has a 9ft braided cable (love branded cables). The cable is long enough to sit comfortably across the room from your Xbox Series X or use with your Windows 10 PC. As a compact controller, there is a little muscle memory adjustment to get comfortable using the compact size but after a few minutes, you can't fault it. On Windows, the free RIG software lets you finely tune button presses for various games - which is super cool. But the biggest benefit of the RIG Pro Compact is it comes with Dolby ATMOS for headphones included and it's incredibly easy to set up. Plugin the RIG controller, plug in your headphones and you're done! No codes, etc. Although on Windows you do need to download the free Dolby ATMOS app. You can use the ATMOS for headphones on any device so I was able to use this with both my PC and Xbox Series X. PS. If you're looking for good ATMOS games to use with this controller, try the Assasins Creed series. I"ve never played with ATMOS audio before and with headphones on, wow! The effort that goes into making great immersive audio means you're really missing out if you're not using ATMOS. So very happy to experience it with this RIG controller.
