I'm an adult so I personally like the original xbox controller better. This controller is smaller and shorter in the palm area and doesn't fit as well with adult hands. I think this controller is better for kids probably. It is lighter than the original. The menu and options buttons are also further apart so that takes some getting used to. Honestly I still felt fatigue just from a few games.

The Nacon Xbox controller is a good replacement if you’re in need of an extra controller or replacement. The buttons are a good size and the feel in the hand is pretty good. It has a long chord that works well. You’re also able to customize the button layouts using their app. Plugging in hour headphones into the joystick will allow you to experience Dolby Atmos. I thought this would be an extra controller to have around, but it ended up being the main controller everyone wants to use based on its feel and large buttons.

This remote cramps up my hands so much, I am going to get arthritis in the long run. I have small hands and it is small enough for my hands but unfortunately I can't use it because it makes my hands stiff.

This controller feels amazing. I don't have the biggest hands so it might not be for everyone else. But the texture of the controller is super well.

I have mixed feelings about the RIG - Nacon PRO Compact Controller for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. I like the solid, yet light, feel of the build. I like the heavy-duty 10-foot cord. I like the slightly larger buttons. I like the noticeable improvement in sound using the pass-through Dolby Atmos. I like the mechanical and precise feel of the joysticks. The slightly smaller form factor is not a plus for me. I'm an adult and it felt a bit too small. Not a deal-breaker, but definitely not a positive feature either (for me). Obviously, this is a subjective issue for each user. The top menu and options buttons are placed wider than usual and that also produced mixed results for me. I like having the right button closer to the normal action buttons. However, because the left menu button is further to the left, I have to reach over the left joystick to use it, rather than slightly around the right side of the joystick, as I do on my regular controller. Granted, game play is rarely effected by how fast you can access the menu button, but I found this unintuitive - and it took more effort to use that button. A good product with a couple features that need to be individually assessed.

The RIG - Nacon PRO Compact Controller for Xbox is a really unique controller that took a little bit of getting used to, but is now my go-to controller for gaming on my Xbox. The “compact” description of this controller certainly fits as it is noticeably smaller than the standard Xbox One controllers but I have actually found that the smaller size is actually quite comfortable and after a brief adjustment period, I was no longer distracted by the difference in feel. One of the things that took the longest to get used to was the location of the “Start” and “Select” buttons (not sure what else to call them so I’ll stick with the old-school names). On a regular Xbox One controller, these buttons are located more in the center of the controller but on the RIG – Nacon PRO, they are located much further towards the outside of the controller. This is the only downside as the “Select” button is simply too close to the left thumbstick for me but I have managed to get used to it to the point where it isn’t that big of a deal any more. Once you get past the physical design of the controller, everything else about it is top-notch. The cable length is just right (not too long, not too short), being able to customize various parts of the controller via a dedicated app is a nice feature, and the addition of Dolby Atmos functionality is awesome! It really is amazing what a difference it makes when using a gaming headset with this controller. Overall, the RIG - Nacon PRO Compact Controller for Xbox is a great controller that takes a little bit of getting used to but in the end it is definitely worth it and I highly recommend it!

I was liking it at first. I bought it as an option for something other than keyboard and mouse when playing the Vidya. I hardly ever touched it, until I transitioned to controller when playing FFXIV. It did work well, until the buttons started sticking. Tried cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and that worked well, until the left trigger crapped out for whatever reason. I might have gotten a lemon but it was a good controller when it wanted to be.

    Very Nice 3D Audio Experience

As it’s mostly plug-and-play, there’s not so much to talk about setup. Somewhat small for my not so big hands but mostly comfortable. As to preference, wireless controllers are the way as I don’t like being tethered to anything but because of the Dolby ATMOS compatibility and the more than adequate braided cable size, it is an acceptable trade-off. Speaking of audio quality, what really stands out is the Dolby ATMOS compatibility. I tried it with a Sony WH-1000XM2 with the 3.5mm adaptor and it felt as if I were inside the game. Not bad with Jlab StudioPro headphones either. That alone would make it worth it to buy this RIG Nacon Pro controller. I wouldn’t call other features such as mapping and customization outstanding, but they are very good nevertheless. I spent some time testing them and was mostly satisfied. Again, the 3D audio experience is what sets it apart. It feels weird to talk about audio experience on a game controller but it is what it is. The oversized buttons are great despite the overall size of the controller itself. Response was in par with other good wired controllers. Of course, it works with Windows 10 too and it does a good job there. I noticed some lag on one of my computers but I’m blaming the computer itself since it worked just fine on a gaming desktop PC. My recommendation is to install the firmware update as soon as possible to fix some minor annoyances that might be there although I didn’t experience any. This is a very good controller but I would warn those with bigger hands, or who just don’t like compact controllers for gaming that this is on the smaller side. It will probably be great for most but not for all. I was okay with it but I can’t deny that it is more compact than I was expected. But boy! The 3D sound experience is really nice. Just make sure you have good headphones. Dolby ATMOS license is for only one device, so you need to choose which if you intend to use it with a PC and Xbox.

Great WIRED controller for Xbox and PC

I only had one controller for my Xbox One S, so this wired Pro Compact controller makes a good backup, in case I'm out of batteries (being wired, it doesn't need batteries) or have a second person I want to play games with. Just plug the controller into one of the USB ports and you're ready to go. It also works with Windows 10 PC's, which is a nice bonus. I tried it with an older game, Left 4 Dead, and it worked just fine. You can download an app from the Microsoft Store (for free) that lets you customize the controller if you want to. The same app works on the Xbox as well. You can plug your headphones directly into the controller, in case you want to play something loud and don't want to disturb anyone. There's a Dolby app you can download from the Microsoft Store (again free) to enhance the sound for both Xbox and PC. Even with the cheap headphones I was using, the demos and movie clips shown on the app sounded amazing. The app also gives you a list of movies and games with enhanced sound. The USB cable for this controller is 3 meters long (9.8 feet for us in the US). It stretched long enough for me to plug it in the Xbox and me to use it sitting on my couch. I guess depending on your situation it could be too long or not long enough. For me it's just right. The only downside I saw with the controller is that it's smaller than a standard Xbox controller, which is fine for people with small hands. While I don't have huge hands, I noticed the difference in the smaller size. While playing Borderlands 3 (a very controller-heavy game with lots of different buttons for different actions), I would often hit a couple of buttons at a time accidentally. It still works extremely well and that's a minor annoyance. All in all, a good choice as a second controller or a first choice if you have smaller hands.

My son tested out this RIG - Nacon Pro controller on his XBox one. What he liked the most about the controller was the sound quality. He said the Dolby Atmos was awesome for the gaming experience. It was very easy to set-up. He liked the bigger buttons - but said the controller could be a littler larger for his his hands. He normally would not have purchased a controller that was not OEM - but he said this meet his expectations.

I’ve needed an Xbox controller for quite a while now – been using a bubblegum and tape approach to keeping my existing one alive. Well, Nacon/RIG has what I think is very nice little option in the Pro Compact controller. Unboxing the Pro Compact controller, my first thoughts were that it doesn’t look over feel like any other Xbox controller I’ve used. Heck, the only thing that ties it to the Xbox is the button color. The shape is different and some of the button placements are different as well. At glance and in hand, the controller looks and feels similar to my Switch Pro Controller, and that is not only a good thing, it’s a great thing. That controller is probably the best feeling controller I have ever used – and I’ve been gaming for decades. Triggers and joysticks feel very smooth and loose with just the right amount of resistance. There are some controllers that have a feeling of restriction, or they feel too loose or giving. The Pro Compact feels just right. The cord is very long, and in my case, I don’t need wireless. I play right in front of a monitor. Other than the length, another thing I like about the cord is that it is wrapped in that shape-holding nylon. I believe overall it is more durable than those tubed in rubber. The USB end can be removed and replaced if necessary – nice touch. The Pro Compact supports Dolby Atmos, with activation included. It has a headphone jack at bottom center allowing you to plug in your headset. You can customize the Pro Compact by using the Pro Compact app. This app was easily found in the Microsoft app store, installed, and was easy to use. You can use it to change button assignments, adjust trigger responsiveness, analog joystick settings, etc. There is quite a bit to play around with. The only thing missing in the app experience was confirmation that my custom config was saved to the controller – I just assumed it was. There is a switch on the underside of the controller allowing you to switch between your custom settings and the default Xbox config. The overall feel and responsiveness of the Pro Compact is fantastic. I had only one issue when initially playing with the controller: The location of the view button. Initially, because I would sometimes lazily rest the middle of my thumb on the left joystick, I would accidentally press the view button – only because of its location. That was quickly remedied, but it’s worth noting because the button placement is different (and I have larger hands than average). Speaking of large hands, as a compact controller I had no problems using the Pro Compact, even for extended periods. It is very comfortable. I absolutely love this controller. It’s comfortable, responsive, and customizable. Throw in Atmos support and it is just an all-around winner for every type of gamer, but one – those looking for a wireless controller. Easy decision to buy this one.

Good controller but smaller than I thought

My sons and I are gamers and i thought this would be a good addition to our system, especially when it’s time to charge the original controllers. I like the long cord that allows me to sit back from the TV as opposed to some of the other controllers I’ve tried. I wish I could power on the Xbox from the controller but I haven’t been able to do that. It’s noticeably smaller than the original controller and with my large hands it’s kind of awkward to use. I’ve gotten used to the way the original controller feels so going to this smaller one had a learning curve to it. I don’t like the placement of some of the buttons but I got used to it. My sons seemed to like it much better than I did and it didn’t take them as long to get used to it. I assume that’s because they have smaller hands and could adapt to the size difference quicker than I could. All in all, this is a decent controller but I’ll be sticking with the original wireless ones.

When the description says "Compact" it is a true statement. Not that it is a small controller. It is better designed for someone who wears a large or smaller glove. IF you have 2XL hands like mine, this controller will make you feel like you could have hand cramps very easily. Long gaming sessions are not likely to be comfortable. The design is great. It is definitely a quality controller. The buttons have great travel. The sticks have the right amount of resistance. The cord is long enough you don't need to be too close to the screen. It works great with a console or with a Windows machine. BTW this works really well with Stadia and with Chromebooks. There is a firmware update that I could only install from my Windows PC. I highly recommend this controller, especially if you are normal sized. Adjusting your grip does help, but you still feel it in the knuckles. My son who is 18 agreed with that, he also has larger hands.

RIG’s newest Xbox controller, is somewhat of a disappointment to me. The controller itself is fine and very functional, my problem with it is the price, for a few dollars more you can have an official Xbox branded controller, which are some of the best controllers ever made. This controller itself is slightly smaller and “fatter” with decent grip and bigger face buttons, The biggest difference here is that this is a wired controller, the wire itself is braided and looks heavy duty which is fine, my problem with it is that it feels heavy especially coming from someone that has been using wireless controllers for years. Probably the biggest reason someone would get this controller is so that they can use the 3.5 mm headset jack. You cannot use an adapter like you can with the official controllers, instead you just plug-in your headphones directly to the controller to get 3-D surroundsound.
