It sounds like your Ring Outdoor Cam is not performing as expected. We would love the opportunity to share with you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to get your Ring Outdoor Cam functioning as intended. If your device is unresponsive, try pressing and holding the reset button for 20 seconds. Follow the steps in the Ring app to reconnect the camera to your network. To reconnect a Ring Outdoor Cam to your wifi network: Open the Ring app. Tap the menu (≡). Tap "Devices" and select the camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi. Tap the "Device Health" tile. Under "Network," tap "Change Network" and follow the prompts in the app. Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in "Device Health" to confirm it has successfully reconnected.

The Ring Outdoor Cam was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.

I would be happy to address your concern regarding the issue that you are experiencing with the delay in motion detection of your Ring Outdoor Cam. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This includes increasing the "Motion Sensitivity" and setting "Motion Frequency" to "Frequently" in the Ring app. To optimize your motion zones and ensure that the device will detect accurately, please follow these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the relevant device.
Tap Motion Settings.
At the top, tap Edit Zones or scroll down to tap Camera Motion Zones.
Note: If you are using a battery-powered device, you may need to toggle on Advanced Motion Detection under Advanced Settings before you can add customizable Motion Zones.
To adjust an existing Motion Zone: tap the Zone you want to adjust, then drag the points of the Zone to do so. Tap Save.
To add a new Motion Zone: tap Add Zone and drag the points of the Zone. Tap Save.

Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling Smart Alerts for people only in your Ring app.

To enable Smart Alerts:

Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Smart Alerts.
Tap Enable Feature.
Tap Continue.
Select the notification options that you want for Person and Other Motion.
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings tap Done.

We understand the importance of having events recorded on your Ring Outdoor Cam. Without a Ring Home plan, your Ring products provide certain features such as Live View, Two-Way Talk, and Real-Time Notifications on your smartphone. Ring Home plans simply offer additional features for those who want them. Ring Home plan has both annaul and monthly plans available. Here are some additional features that are included when you subscribe to a Ring Home Plan.

1. Video History for up to 180 Days. Access recorded videos of every motion and Live View event for up to 180 days.
2. Snapshot Capture. See what's happening in between motion-activated events with recurring photo snapshots taken throughout the day.
3. Package and Person Alerts. Enable to get a notification only when your device spots a person or when there's a package in designated areas.
4. Rich Notifications. See exactly what triggered an alert with a photo preview right in the notification without opening the Ring app.
