He loves them. His girlfriend has an 11 year old who is autistic and is very good at figuring out locks and ways to get out of the house so they needed to know if the windows were opened. He has everything sent to his phone so that he knows when he is on the road and can call home if he needs to.

Works well once setup and sometimes the battery life is sometimes 75% or lower sitting in storage.

We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you are experiencing issues with the device in regards to setup process. The Ring Alarm Contact Sensor (2nd Gen.) allows you to expand your Ring Alarm system to secure each door and window in your home and get alerts as soon as they open. The Ring Alarm and all Ring Alarm accessories require a subscription for in-app features and digital notifications, including digital arming and disarming and integration with other Ring, Echo, Alexa, and third-party products. If a Ring Alarm Contact Sensor fails during setup, you may have to adjust the position of the magnet and sensor. Move the sensor closer to the magnet or in a more optimal alignment.

They are easy to install and make an audible charm noise whenever the door is still open opened. They also can be disabled within the ring app when you have kids going in and out! It took less than 30 minutes to install six of them and enable them within the ring app. Easy-peesy! After waiting 2 weeks for the 'next-day delivery' from Home Depot, I canceled and found these in stock at Best Buy for the same price!

Just wish they were a lot more minimalistic, in design size, however, they are so much better than many sensors available now. Must buy to protect your family

I might need to reinstall a sensor mounted on a window because the offset between the window and the frame doesn't allow enough overlap for the sensor's magnet to maintain consistent contact. This was my fault; I had a hunch the overlap would be inadequate, but I proceeded anyway. Good thing the sensor is mounted on glass and metal and not on painted drywall.
