They work with gen1. We bought the alarm system quite awhile back. We needed to add sensors. I don't have the alarm monitored. We need a text alert not an email.

We needed more sensors for the windows we didn’t count when we bought our system. This package of 6 was exactly the amount we needed. Work like a charm, easy to install.

Was really hoping to find one of those Ring Contact Sensor 6-packs (as that has the best value)...but, I believe Ring has moved away from those 1st gen contact sensors. These work just fine. Haven't searched in a while, so I don't know if Ring offers a 6-pack of the 2nd gen sensors. If so, and you need that many, that's the way to go... #math

Seem to catch every motion detected. Just built a shed and installed one inside there for extra piece of mind. Ties in good with the Ring alarm system.
