Bought this for my sisters new home. I have my own which I got when it first came out. Like everything that’s newly released there were some hiccups with the system but nothing major. Since the release they’ve pushed through updates and all but for the monthly price of this alarm that also includes all your ring cameras recordings it’s a no brainer. Beats ADT and even Vivint which some of my family members have. It now works with Alexa as well ring is doing big things and I believe will be getting better so I keep investing and increasing my security cameras at home little by little. A+ in my book. It’s simple and ring support has always been outstanding. Whether chat via the app or calling in.

I'm happy with the security system. Three door sensors and two motion sensors are enough for a medium sized apartment, and add-on elements can be purchased separately. It was fairly easy to install and get running, and behaves as described. . . Sad I paid $80 more than the Cyber Monday price. . . . . However, the documentation (including the downloadable "manual"s) was a bit sparse, not explaining how long the batteries would last for each element, etc. etc. so you have to spend time on forums to learn these things from various people online. Customer service online chat was helpful in learning things that weren't in the documentation.

I wanted to save money on my home alarm bill. I use to have ADT puls system. I was paying over $50.00 a month for the service and it was subpar in my area. I have a Ring Doorbell and I was very happy with the item. It is very easy to install and it only took a few hours for us to get it done.
If you want the monthly monitor service is only $10.00 a month Vs $50.00 so that is a huge savings for an family that is trying to control their expenses. It was nice to get the kit that has the two key pads as I am able to set it in a different area. The app responds very well for setting the alarm and shutting it off before you get into the house. This is great if you have a had full of grocery bags.

This is a great DIY security system. Setup is easy & straight forward. Ring will monitor the system for $10 per month. There are several options as far as equipment and you can add cameras if you want and it ties in to your Ring doorbell if you have one. I’m very satisfied thus far.

I was not going to pay $60 a month for home SecureSphere monitoring. With this kit I was able to setup security myself and get professionally monitored for $10 a month.

What is not to love on this systems. It’s affordable and easy to install and works as expected. The sensors are a little large but otherwise it’s basically a reasonable alarm.

System worked as expected out of the box, easy to setup. Form factor of contact sensors not ideal for mounting on door casings. Had to make modifications to trim for flat mounting surface. Have one sensor that is a bit intermittent, may need another range extender.

It was between Ring and Simplisafe+ 3rd Party Security Camera. Been using Simplisafe for 5 years and its a great product, been very happy with the features and app functionality. Each of my family members has it, so again great product.
Had to look at Ring because Simplisafe is severely lacking on camera options. The door bell camera could have been an option but it the angle was wrong and even the wedge that tilts 15 degrees was not enough for my application.
I researched for awhile Ring, seeing they were bought out by Amazon a while back raised a flag.
But in the end they have a ton of accessories and this with Ring Peephole camera fit the bill.
I do prefer Cellular primary, Wifi Secondary connections of Simplisafe, whereas Ring is the opposite, but at leastnit it has the Cellular backup.
The setup was super slow. The devices take quite awhile to sync even though they are supposed to be pre-synced.
Its 50/50 split on convience where to put the keypad and base station.
On the one hand both will have ridiculously long backup times if power goes out, but the keypad has to be close to a power outlet.
Simplisafe's batrery operated keypad can be put anywhere, but 6 AA.
Addng to this kit was 4 more standard sensors, and of them all, 1 of them would not sync to the system.
I also don't like that you are not given the 3M pulltabs strips for the optional screwless installation method.
READ THIS: Also the design for the mounting is a little crazy for the sensors. They have a bracket that attaches to the each part of the window/door sensor, if you install it as designed, when it is time replace battery in the primary part of the sensor you will have to take the remove the entire sensor from the installed location. They put these little tabs designed to keep the casing on, but they are redundant. I removed them from each of the sensors, motion included and the mounting bracket for keypad. Especially for the keypad, you will endup ripping the keypad off the wall or gouging your wall trying to remove the keypad from the bracket with security clips attached, again they are redundant to the design.
Keypad is also able to be placed on a table, etc if you don't want it attached to the wall. I wish the wall bracket also doubled as a table stand for a vertical option instead of flat on a table.
I will say that there cost is significantly cheaper than Simplisafe, but I know no why...1) Having Wifi primary and Cellular as backup is cheaper, you are paying for the wifi 2) They sell massive amounts of your data to 3rd party's!
I only learned about this, literally the day after I installed (the articles were printed that day) and since then more info keeps coming out.
Do your research on the Neighborhood and Police video requests.
I'm all about helping keep my neighborhood safe and helping local law enforcement, but I was thinking of Enemy Of The State reading this stuff.
You, now, have options to maintain privacy, etc that wasn't there prior, but they are still selling your data.
Mh preference is closed circuit cameras, which I install and recommend whenever I can, they plenty of online live view options, but this scenario was one where Ring was literally the only option that achieved what I needed.
I will say Ring started out with surveillance whereas Simplisafe started out with security monitoring, so they definitely have a leg up in the race. The day Simplisafe has outdoor camera options battery or hardiwred is the day I redo it all.
But they haven't let any of that leak its on their radar so we shall see.

Installation was quick and easy and Ring tech support tries hard to get you up and running. The only install issue I had during the initial setup was the base station needing a specific port opened up on my firewall. I have been using it for the past two months and other than an occasional sensor going offline, (which is annoying) works exactly like it’s suppose too. My advice is to treat the base station like a router and keep it an open spot so that it can maintain the connection with the sensors. My set up is sprawled out with over 22 sensors and getting the base station and extender in the right location made a big difference.

Everything is great about this security system, easy to install and connect. My only complain on the package is there's no really need for a second keypad.
