Horrible quality control; worse customer service!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.right out of box, one of the motion sensors won't connect to the base state. Call ring and was told to take down everything and return it to Bestbuy. I already installed and glue the contact sensors to the door frames so decided to take the hit and not returning the kit. Fast forward, it's now only 4 months and one out of 3 contact sensor failed again. Tried new battery, resetting the sensor.. nothing would make it connect again. Had to buy a new one from amazon for easier return. the quality of the wireless connection component of the sensors definitely has a big issue. two out of the handful sensors failed!!

Returned item unopened due to poor Ring response
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Ring doorbell at my last house and was very happy with it, so recently purchased their security system. However given Ring's poor response after the hacking of their cameras, I returned this product, unopened. Ring is representing themselves as a security option for the DIY homeowner and yet apparently did not provide the homeowner the technical protocol needed to protect themselves when using a Ring device. And then when problems arose, Ring blamed the homeowner. I will look to find a better system/company for my security needs, one that provides a safe product and quality customer service.

Excellent system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed my system with 6 sensors and a motion detector in less than an hour and I used screws to mount all door contacts and tape on windows. It is a simple install and the app guides you all the way. Works as advertised and I couldn't be happier. This is a quality system and worth more than they charge for it. The $100 a year monitoring cost (which includes your cameras and door bell recordings) is a bargain. Pairing them was seamless. Have had numerous alarms in many homes and this ones beats them all. Just an FYI for those that use the two sided adhesive tape. Clean the area you are mounting them on with alcohol first and it will help eliminate them coming off. Learned that the hard way on an ADT system I had "professionally" installed. Great idea on delaying the monitoring until you get use to using the system. False alarms that are reported and responded to cost $100 each time in our area.

Perfect security system for a small home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my condo, as it’s 3 levels and I was nervous about my basement. I love it! The app is super user friendly and installation was easier than I thought!

Base station not working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A big issue with the base station. Once plugged no light appeared, tried the pairing botton but appeared as dead. Tried to reach customer service but at the moment no answers. I'd have liked to try out this alarm but a bit disappointed not yo be able to even connect it.

Problems again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the ring alarm system because I already own the ring doorbell, and I thought it would be a great addition to add to my condo, however, once again I purchased a ring product and right out of the box it was non-functional because it had a bad battery, or the base was bad. I ended up returning the ring security alarm system because I was not going to keep going back and forth as I did with my ring doorbell that took forever to get fixed.

Waited a long time for this
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been waiting for the Ring Alarm since it was first announced last fall. I'm already in the Ring family with the Doorbell Pro and Spotlight Cam. I have had no major issues with my Ring devices, so I felt confident with going in for their Alarm. Set-Up is quite simple. All sensors that are bundled automatically populate in the app to easily connect them. If you do buy extra sensors, adding them to your home is easy. You just need to scan a QR code on the back of the sensor and install them. Speaking of the sensors, they are quite large. Compared to something like the Nest Secure, the contact sensors are almost double the size. They still fit nicely around the house though. Arming the Alarm is also very easy. You can use the Ring app or set it directly on the keypad by entering your access code. You can change entry and exit delay times in settings. Some improvements can be made to the system though: -Ability to add Guest Codes without adding someone as a User -Set alarm to Away or Home without entering code -When switching from Home to Disarmed mode on Keypad, allow to click the mode first, then prompt to enter access code. Currently, you always need to enter the code and then pick which mode you want -New Chirp tones (currently only 4) -More voice alerts/prompts (Hub can maybe say which room has sensors tripped; speak how much time left for alarm to go off/enter access code) -On iOS, ability to 3D Touch Ring app icon to set alarm. -To Disarm the Alarm, typing in the access code and clicking the Check will disarm it. Currently you enter the code and then click the Disarm Mode button. Overall, the Ring Alarm is a great system now. Overtime, new and different accessories will be added and improvements to the software will only make it better to have and use.

Lasted about hour
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spent the afternoon installing, all working for about an hour and then just stopped working. Called customer service to trouble shoot, they said they would have to call me back. Waited a couple of hours, no call back. Had to call customer service again and informed I have to take it all down, return and wait for a replacement. Round 2 next weekend!!!!

Not worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not worth the money, especially since you can’t take pictures or record without subscribing to a monthly cost of security monitoring. Recommend Vivint or other self security monitoring since Vivint may be canceling out self security monitoring.

Nice system and great customer service.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would give it like 4.25 stars if I could. Using it a few days and it's really good. I did have trouble with the motion sensor setup. I set that up a few days later and I noticed it wasn't recording the motion events. I also remembering seeing the QC code of the motion sensor as not activated as soon as the first day even though I had yet to pull the battery tab. I'm not sure how the base unit knew the number. Anyway, I had to call customer service and they reset it and then it worked fine. They didn't even know how the QC code could show if the battery tab wasn't pulled or the QC code scanned. I would recommend you set up the base unit first then add the sensors by going to device setup to add the sensors then scan the QC code of the device and then pull the battery tab. The instructions say let the base station find them but that didn't work as well as adding the sensors separately. Also, little thing but I do find the keypad annoying since they failed to put some sort of bumper or pad on the bottom of the unit that prevents it from sliding across the table. You need to kinda hold the unit steady when entering the codes. This of course is not a problem if you are mounting it to a wall. Otherwise I am happy with the unit and will add more sensors in the near future.

Received a Return Item as “New”
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just another reason why I won’t order from Best Buy anymore. Received my order today, with one of the items already opened by someone who clearly returned it. I’m not going to bother returning it, it’s to much of a hassle. Extremely disappointed customer.
