It sounds like your device is not performing as you expected. The Ring Alarm Motion Detector is a component of the Ring Alarm security system designed to detect movement within a designated indoor area. When armed, it triggers the Ring Alarm system and sends notifications to your mobile devices whenever motion is sensed.

You can control the alerts you receive for Alarm from the Ring app and on Ring.com. Choose to receive a notification when a contact sensor is open or closed, a motion sensor detects motion, the alarm is triggered, or there is an emergency event. You can also receive Alarm Alerts when your phone or tablet’s Do Not Disturb mode is on. To receive a notification when a motion sensor detects motion, Follow these steps: Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

Tap the menu (☰).

Tap Settings.

Tap Alarm.
Select Push, toggle on Push Notifications, and then scroll down to toggle on or off each item you can receive alerts for.
Select Email and then toggle on Email Notifications for each of the items as you wish.
To receive Alarm Alerts when Do Not Disturb is enabled on your phone or tablet, tap Mobile Device Do Not Disturb Settings, then tap Change Device Settings. Follow the steps in your phone or tablet to complete the process.
Tap Save.

You can call your local police department, town hall, or municipal offices to find out about laws in your neighborhood.

Also, if you have an existing eero network, you can use your Ring Alarm Pro Base Station as a wifi extender for your existing eero network. With a compatible Ring subscription, your Ring Alarm Pro can provide backup internet to your entire eero network if your power or internet goes down – helping to protect your property. When the internet outage ends, your gateway eero device will resume managing your network connectivity via your usual modem while your Ring Alarm Pro will automatically switch back to being another access point in your eero mesh network.
