The battery during cold dats didn't last as long as summertime but meant switching to the other charged battery more often.

Although it’s a battery operated unit the low current of the door wiring is enough to keep the battery charged. I had some issues with an older non-battery unit in this location so I’ve been very happy with this particular model.
