    Great Door Bell

The Ring Battery Doorbell Pro (newest model) Retinal 4K with wide-angle video, up to 10x Zoom, Night Vision, and Ultra Battery is a high quality Ring product. For me, this is an upgrade from an older model of a Ring Door Bell so I am very familiar with how to set up and use.The Retinal 4K provides a clear, high quality picture. As with all the Ring products, this can be customized in the app for motion, notifications and sound alerts. The device is very easy to set up after charging the battery. To remove the battery there is a little orange device and keeping track of that maybe the biggest challenge. I have just started using so I don’t know how long the battery will stay charged and given that it is located in the far north of the US, the very cold winters tend to drain batteries. For this reason, I will add a solar panel and hope that it keeps its charge for when I am away in the winter. The Night Vision is very good. As with all the Ring products, I find these products to be exceptional and I enjoy using them.

A Great Feature Rich Addition To The Ring Line

Ring’s Battery Doorbell Pro is a good addition to the Ring line of security doorbells. The Pro sports a wide angle view, up to 10x zoom, night vision, and utilizes the ultra battery pack. The Doorbell Pro uses the Ring app for iOS and Android. It comes with 30 days of online storage for video. The Ring Protect plan for a solo device isn’t bad, but it does get a little pricey stepping up to the Ring Pro plan. The positive thing is that the multi and pro plans cover all devices at a single location. When I add the spotlight cameras I plan to add, the Pro plan ends up being much more reasonable. Ring has added to the Doorbell Pro support for the Pro plan intelligent features. These are helpful to me for better video descriptions, better video search, and consolidation of events. An option I have would also be to use the Solo plan or Multi plan and just add the Pro Intelligence and/or 24/7 recording per camera if I wanted to do that, but the Pro plan will be what I switch to once I finish adding the spotlight cameras. The 4K resolution is a must for a doorbell camera. I could get away with 2K for cameras everywhere else, but the 4K resolution for the doorbell is what I feel is needed. That is the one where detail in the recording is necessary. Cars driving by, people walking by or up to the door. I feel a lot better knowing that if I have to give the police a video clip, they can zoom in while still retaining some detail during playback. The Doorbell Pro will also allow me to zoom in 10x using the camera as well. The battery that comes with the Doorbell Pro is big and lasts a reasonable amount of time. It has a built-in USB-C port for charging and charge level light indicators. Pro features for the Doorbell Pro are numerous. Familiar faces, video descriptions, single event alert (grouping related events), keyword search for video clips, Alexa+ greetings (Alexa+ can greet visitors and also take messages for me), unusual event alerts, etc. Add in Neighbors and Familiar Faces and I have a very robust, feature rich, video doorbell. The Ring Doorbell Pro has far more features than my other video doorbell. Ring has certainly packed a tremendous amount of features into this 4K video doorbell. I like what Ring has done with it and hope they keep coming up with great features and capabilities moving forward into the future. If you are looking into getting a video doorbell, then I would recommend considering the Ring Doorbell Pro.

After using the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro, I see why it stands out from other battery-powered video doorbells. It records at high definition (2880 x 2880) with a head-to-toe view, so I can clearly see both visitors and packages at the doorstep. It has 10x zoom so you can zoom in and capture license plates or details all the way to the street. The adaptive Night vision is a great plus for when you forget to turn the outside lights on and have an unannounced visitor, mine usually comes in the form of a racoon or an opossum. Since it is part of the Echo family you can monitor from not just your phone but any device you have set up to work with Alexa and the Echo system. If you don’t feel like getting up from the couch you can use the two way audio to tell the unwanted visitor to go away. There are a couple of cons that might deter you from purchasing, first one is cost, this device is at the high end of doorbells, so you are going to have to pay for those features. But stating this you would think that at this price, you would get more features on the protection plans without having to pay for them.

I have an older ring camera but still wanted another one. Main reason is that with the older camera, you have to remove the whole camera to charge. With this one, you just remove the battery. Even if you choose to remove the whole camera, you will still have to remove the battery to charge it. But why 4 stars from me. First, no extra battery. I would have liked to see another battery so that you can swap them out. One concern for me is that I also feel it can be easy to just take the battery. Another thing for me is that I live in a apt. and I had to buy another piece for this. I wished they would have just had it included. I got a bracket piece that wraps around the door that holds the camera. I had one for my other camera, but it would not work with this as this camera is a bit taller and you would have to take the piece apart and remove the battery to charge. That brings up my other point is that you do have to remove the battery to charge it. I would have liked to have a port on the camera for those who rather take the whole camera off to charge. Or if you choose to use this camera inside. But those aside. I like that they do provide an angled mounting bracket. I enjoy the quality as it is very clear with its 4k. Battery seems to last a while. Both cameras now will also explain what is happening. So, when it messages me an alert when someone is at our door or neighbor's door, it also lets us know what the alert is. Most of the time it is correct. Like if neighbors walk their dog, it will say they left with their dog. If UPS is at our door, it will say UPS is at door for delivery. Overall, I am glad to pick this up. I do suggest getting the door mount if you live in an apt. Also, an extra battery would be great so when you charge it, you can just swap out the batteries.

Rings newest doorbell is already built on a great Smart doorbell foundation and kicks it up a notch with a much better resolution to catch all these porch pirates that are now playing our country. I really love how you can interact with your delivery person and give instructions where to leave the package or just verbal permission to actually leave a package while you’re out of town or away. For me, the battery doorbell makes more sense as it is non-invasive, really easy to hook up as there are no wires to connect. The battery does need to be charged every now and then, but it is not that bad and well worth the trade-off for not having to wire up a door doorbell to your low voltage. The build quality is really good, especially with this pro version and the fit and finish is very sleek. I can see this thing lasting for years . Amazon Alexa compatibility is very nice and I love Viewing the camera on my giant screen once I pair it with my fire TV or Amazon enabled TV. This smart doorbell is an excellent choice for anybody looking for the best viewing resolution!

We have been wanting a doorbell camera for quite a while and finally settled on the Ring Pro (battery version) as our favorite option. After a couple of weeks of use, I have some observations to share. Initially, before starting the installation process, I recommend going ahead and charging the battery which will take a few hours. Otherwise, you’ll start the setup process and be stuck. Unfortunately, the printed instructions that come in the box are very unhelpful on how to access the battery, so I had to get several steps into the setup process on the app to figure it out. It’s pretty simple once you see how it works but it’s not immediately intuitive (at least not to me). To save you time, use the included plastic tool, pop it into the tiny orange tab on the bottom of the doorbell, and remove the whole front cover. Then you can drop the battery out to charge it. Once it gets charged, then you can get through the whole install and setup process. If you have vinyl siding like I do, don’t overtighten the screws on the baseplate or you won’t be able to snap the camera onto it because of the varying angles of the siding. Not a big deal, just something to pay attention to. Although I got the battery version, I still hardwired mine because I wanted to use my existing doorbell chime. The app walked through that whole process and tested the chime to make sure it was compatible. Now when someone presses the button, I get alerts through the app, but the old chime still goes off as it normally would to alert anyone in the house that someone is at the door. As an added bonus there, the small amount of current running through those wires helps charge the battery so the time between recharges should increase dramatically. The only downside is that my original doorbell placement was not optimal since it is an older house. I still get plenty of coverage for the door because of the wide-angle lens, but I wish there was an ability to shift the video up or down, and possibly side to side, since mine is a little low and a bit far off to the side. The included angled mounting plate might work for some use cases to solve the side-to-side issue, and I might eventually decide to go back and try that. Not a massive deal, just something to consider. The alerts are usually pretty quick when motion is detected, although I have noticed some lag on occasion, which seems to be more common and noticeable when the camera detects someone walking away, like when you are leaving the house. The biggest lag seems to come though when someone rings the bell and you try to connect and talk through the app. That part is basically useless in my opinion because of the delay. Connecting to my various Echo devices alleviates that issue though. As for the alerts, muting notifications is not super intuitive, and sometimes the app gives you the option to do it for a set amount of time and other times it does not. You can set it to mute for a specific time after a known device arrives so you don’t get notices that you, yourself, are walking up to the door. But if you’re having a gathering that you don’t necessarily need to be bombarded with notifications, shutting them off can be a bit of a headache. Again, not a huge deal, more of an annoyance at times. The video quality is really sharp and clear and even the night vision works quite well. I haven’t been able to notice a difference in performance of the motion detection between day or night either which is a plus. The ability to set fairly precise boundaries for motion detection is a huge plus as I have a couple of large plants near the door that move in the wind, and I have been able to shut that area off completely to reduce false alerts. Finally, the “Pro” features that are included in trial are nice, but not something I will likely pay for once the trial period ends. Like many others on the market, it will cost to keep any real functionality beyond real-time notifications and live views, including even short-term storage with the ability to download in case there is an issue and having the recording is needed. I wish they would have a 24-hour period at least of free video storage but that doesn’t seem to be an option. Plans for a single camera start fairly cheap, but if you aren’t willing to pay an extra $5 a month to keep your recordings, you might want to look elsewhere. To sum it all up, the Ring Pro is a great camera with some good features and excellent resolution but still has a few minor drawbacks. Most of them could likely be fixed with software updates and clearer printed instructions, but the ongoing cost is a consideration to definitely take into account.

A good upgrade from Gen 1 and user friendly

I’ve had the opportunity to try different brands for home security cameras, and the Ring ecosystem continues to be my favorite. I had the first version of the Doorbell Pro, and so happy to report that this version does everything the older version did and has better quality with image and sound. 5/5 - Quality Built: From the unboxing experience to getting the doorbell on the hands, one can feel the Ring is building this camera with quality in mind. Being that it is a Doorbell camera, I think it will constantly be pressed for the doorbell or used as objects move in front of it and have not had bad experiences with the first model, and the built quality in this newer model is just as good if not better. It feels sturdy and premium. Also love pro the color. 5/5 - Quality Image: A big upgrade from my previous model is that this one is now 4K resolution, and although it’s not 4k as you see it on a TV screen, I do see some improvement compared to the last version. I appreciate having the zoom feature but honestly I don’t think I am going to be using it as much. It’s nice to have but I am not one of those people who are checking out their security cameras just to see what’s going on in the neighborhood when I am away. I just want it to record events in case something happens and I need to see the video. For these purposes, I appreciate the 4k image quality because I can crop an image if needed and still keep some quality. 5/5 - Ease of Installation: Since I had the older version, this was probably the easiest step for me. Remove and replace was fast and easy. Even if you were installing this from scratch, I think you wouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes. 5/5 - Ease of Use: I have experience with the Ring app already and I find it to be one of the most intuitive apps. It’s easy enough that I actually have my parents set up with Ring cameras too, and they are older, and they are able to navigate the app with our problems which speaks to the ease of use. Overall, I will probably keep using Ring cameras as my preferred security system in my home just because it’s built great and the ease of use makes it easy for me and my wife. I recommend the Ring ecosystem for all your home security needs!

I have mixed feelings about this security system, but I also want to be fair as I'm new to using the type. That said, three stars simply means 'neutral' in my case. What I do like about it right out of the box is the sleek feel and look. The lighted button for ease of seeing at night. It looks very nice. In theory, setup wasn't difficult, besides installing on the wall of the house (more on that later), and connected easily to wifi. The picture is clear during the daylight hours, even clear during the strongest hours of sunlight from about 3p-7p at my house. I live in California, and the front of my place gets BLASTED by the sun, with the camera facing directly into the sun, I could still see visitors and delivery drivers on my stoop clearly. Apparently, visitors can hear me well, too. So, the things I'm not quite sure of or sold on... The outer walls of my house are stucco, and even using anchors, I'm not confident the screws would hold the unit in place if some weirdo decided to try and remove it! This worries me a little bit, but, so did the overall idea of a Ring camera, given all the horror stories and videos you see online - seeing something you don't want to see, ease of disabling the unit. Next, the angle of the view is a little weird, kind of slanted? Or, bubble looking. I feel like this distorted image could work against law enforcement when they need to identify a thief or criminal. Lastly, at night, the motion sensor doesn't seem to work right all the time. I have an indoor-outdoor cat whose movements get picked up sometimes and not others. Then, in contrast, my next door neighbor who has to cross a part of my yard which, he clearly has to walk past the camera to an extent, there'll be no alert? All in all, given some of these issues could be remedied by more time to test and use the system, you know, to work out the kinks and learn it, I'd still recommend trying, but maybe starting with a less expensive / prior model (RING model, not an imitation) first. I'm keeping it.

      Hi MsLittlejohn.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your Ring Battery Doorbell Pro to function consistently and reliably, so you can effectively monitor your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the concern you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to motion detection. We would love the opportunity to share with you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to get your Ring device functioning as intended. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. You can add up to three motion zones per device under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."

Regarding the mounting on your stucco walls, please make sure you are using a 1/4" masonry bit to drill holes in your wall, then insert the included wall anchors before securing the screws. This will provide a much stronger hold on surfaces like stucco, brick, or concrete compared to drilling directly without proper anchors. With the correct installation method, the mount should hold firmly in place.

Regarding the view, the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro features a wide-angle, head-to-toe field of view designed to capture more of your entryway. This wider perspective is designed to help you see more of your surroundings, and the Retinal 4K resolution with up to 10x Enhanced Zoom allows you to zoom in on details with greater clarity when needed.

For more information on your Ring Battery Doorbell Pro, we invite you to reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their personal feedback and experiences with Ring. We look forward to hearing from you if we can be of any further assistance!

      Thank you,

Unboxing the new Retinal 4K Ring Battery Doorbell Pro honestly felt like an upgrade moment for me. The box was simple, nothing dramatic, but the doorbell itself looked really clean right out of the box. The deep silver color surprised me in a good way. It’s subtle, not shiny or loud, and it blends in way better than my old Blink video doorbell ever did. That one always looked a bit cheap and plasticky, like it was trying too hard. I was replacing that Blink doorbell because the battery situation was driving me nuts. I was constantly swapping batteries or dealing with it dying at the worst times. Setting up the Ring was way smoother. The mount felt sturdier and the new battery pack is actually convenient. It clicks in and out easily and it already seems like it’s going to last longer than what I was used to. Once I got it connected, the difference in video quality was pretty obvious. The Retinal 4K thing isn’t just marketing. The picture is super sharp, and the wide‑angle view lets me see my whole porch instead of just a narrow slice. My Blink footage always looked washed out, especially at night, but this Ring keeps things clear even when it’s dark. The night vision looks cleaner, and the zoom actually works without turning everything into a blurry mess. The sound is better too. When someone talks through it, it doesn’t sound like they’re underwater. There’s less delay and the motion alerts feel smarter. I’m not getting pinged every time a leaf blows across the walkway. Overall, this feels like a real upgrade in every way. Better video, better sound, better battery, better design. If a friend told me they were shopping for a doorbell camera right now, I’d definitely point them toward this one.

I'd been putting off upgrading my old doorbell for a while, but the jump to this one was worth it. The 4K image quality is the first thing you notice. Packages on the porch, faces at the door, even license plates on the street are all clear in a way my old camera never came close to. The 10x zoom actually holds up too, it's not the blurry mess you get from digital zoom on cheaper cameras. Installation took about fifteen minutes start to finish. No wiring, no electrician, just the mounting bracket and a few screws. The battery snaps in and out easily for charging, which matters more than I expected. I charge mine roughly every few weeks depending on how much activity it picks up, and the quick release pack makes that painless. Night vision is where this thing really earns its price tag. Most doorbell cameras turn porches into a grainy black and white mess after dark. This one picks up actual color in low light, as long as there's some ambient light from a porch fixture or street lamp. It's a noticeable upgrade if you've ever squinted at a doorbell clip trying to figure out who was at your door at 11pm. The motion detection is smart about distance and zones, so I'm not getting a notification every time a car drives by or a leaf blows across the yard. I set a zone for the porch and walkway and ignored the sidewalk entirely, and it's been accurate since. The app itself is clean and fast. Live view loads quickly, alerts come through without much delay, and the two way talk feature is genuinely useful for telling delivery drivers where to leave packages. For anyone debating between the base model and the Pro, the 4K resolution and zoom quality alone make the upgrade worth considering.

This was easy to set up and install. Once you scan the barcode on the instruction manual, it takes you to the app to download, and then automatically walks you through the setup process. It will take you through setting up your online profile, then take you through the step-by-step process of installing your device. It took me less than 10 minutes using an electric drill. The camera takes very clear shots and has a wide-angle view of our front yard, which I love. The Ring camera itself feels very thick, heavy, and well-made. The battery has been going strong for over a week now. I love that you can't just pop out the battery to charge; you actually need a little device to remove the battery. The picture quality is very clear and colorful. It is so easy to see people. I have our camera angled towards our street and our front door. It is a very clear picture, and I love that. You can choose to have ring alerts only, motion detection only, or both. The app has so many ways to adjust the settings. I love that you can snooze the alerts without stopping the recordings. My other camera has an option for stand-by mode, but not for snooze. I like the snooze option because then it will resume without me having to go in and adjust that. The ring camera is a great camera option and the picture quality is very good.

I’ve had a Ring subscription for around a decade. All of my floodlights are Ring and both of my doorbells are Rings. The jump from the old stuff to 1080p was really nice, but I have to say that the jump to 4K is tremendous! I feel like I can now see which of my neighbors don’t do a good job picking up after their dogs. Weird story: some kids came by a couple of months ago, ostensibly to buy a watch from me. They gave me counterfeit bills and sped off. The make/model of the car was just barely too grainy and so was the license plate. This new camera would 100% have made out the details that would have helped the police catch the thieves. Installation was easy. It’s a little slimmer than the old, boxy models and slots into tough spaces more easily. Everything sets up the same as the old models and it showed right up in my app. I run it hardwired but I read that it has a huge battery in case you want to pull it down to recharge. It’s a perfect upgrade to the existing Ring ecosystem and I’m pleased to say they still have it right with no regressions.
