I didn't mind spending a little extra for this since the old chimes will not work now. Still liking this item.

The answer to fix the problem was the ring chime. Got two of them for the hard to hear areas. Easy to install and set up. Several different options Ding Dong sound effects.

Crisp Sound and Easy Install

Love the fact that Ring allows you to change the sounds to match the season or vibe that you are feeling. Easiest install ever. Highly recommended.

It only takes up the space of one plug, leaving us room to use the outlet for something else, if we need to. It offers a good number of chime tones, but I chose to go with the "traditional" "ding-dong" chime, as that's what we were used to with the old doorbell.

Anything moves outside the entire house makes noise. Can be annoying at 3am when a cat walks by but I would rather know than not know.
