Sometimes i have my phone on DND or Silent and i dont want my phone going off every second if someone walks or drives by my home. So with the app i can set it only for if someone rings the bell.

I went through 2 echos thinking I could use it as a chime. Didn't work even though Amazon said it would. But this worked flawlessly.

My RING is battery operated due to where my doorbell was located -- so having this option besides the phone is wonderful.
