At Ring, every device and service we make is designed to help give Neighbors peace of mind inside, protection outside, and a connection to what’s happening in the neighborhood.

We are happy to provide you with some helpful information regarding the connection concern that you mentioned in your review. Usually, a device falling offline repeatedly is related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss. In rare cases, this can be caused by settings in your router.

To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap “Devices.”
Select the ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the “Device Health” tile.
Scroll to “Signal Strength” under the “Network” section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.
Move your wifi router off the floor.

Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere with or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on the Ring Chime. We understand how critical it is for your Ring Chime to notify you of activity around your property. Being able to rely on the alerts is an essential feature of the Ring Chime. We can definitely assist you with this today, and we are confident we can find the correct settings for your home’s environment.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. If you’ve had your Chime for a while and it seems unresponsive, make sure that it’s connected to wifi and that the Firmware (internal software) is updated. You can check both of these things in the Ring app under Device Health: Open the Ring app. Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the screen to open the side menu. Tap Devices. Select your Chime. Tap Device Health. If your Chime is not connected to wifi, you’ll see an option to "Reconnect to Wi-Fi". If your Firmware says “Up to Date” then you have the latest version. If your Firmware is not up to date, you may see numbers (which represent the version of firmware that you have). You may need help from Ring Support to get it updated. When you set up a Ring device for the first time and it goes into setup mode, you’ll be asked to connect to a temporary Ring network before you connect to your home wifi network. This temporary network pairs your device with the Ring app. Once you are connected to your home network, you will no longer be connected to the temporary Ring network. If the temporary network doesn't appear or won't connect, you can try unplugging the Chime and plugging it into another nearby outlet. You can also hold down the reset button on the side of the Chime for 10 seconds and release it to power cycle the Chime.

At Ring, we understand it is essential to have your Ring devices online and working properly so you can keep your home secure. The features and technology provided by Ring devices are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like your review is for the Ring Chime Pro and that you have some concerns regarding the signal it provides to your other Ring devices. The Ring Chime Pro plugs into a wall socket and is connected through the Ring app to your wifi signal. Ideally, the Chime Pro should be set up halfway between your Ring device and your wifi router.

The ideal placement for your Chime Pro is about halfway between your wifi router and the device it’s connected to. Wifi extenders work best with devices that won’t be moved. The maximum distance between the router and the device should be under 30 feet (ideally 20–25 feet).

If the distance is greater than 30 feet, you might need a different solution to resolve a weak wifi signal, like a mesh network rather than a wifi extender. A wifi router creates a single access point that broadcasts a signal. The further the signal has to go, the weaker the signal gets. A mesh network creates multiple points of access to distribute wifi signals and keeps each signal strong.
