wi-if connectivity
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Poor wi-fi connectivity. I'm not a fan of Wi-Fi and I do understand why it's popular. I bought the Chime Pro hoping for better wi-fi connectivity I was disappointed. The suggestion to move the Chime or Router closer too each isn't always possible. I went to a lot of work to get it worked. I had extenders setup through out my house with one less than a foot away and still had problems. I finally realized the Ring system perfers a separate 2.4Ghz signal not a blend of the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz as one network. I hope this helps someone.

Posted .Hi Tawdah, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I know it's frustrating when you run into technical issues. Great advice on separating the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Since not all Ring devices are compatible with 5GHz, dual band networks can cause some issues with connectivity. If you have any other questions about your Ring devices, check out the Ring Community https://community.ring.com/ to find answers from other neighbors. Best, Ashley from Ring.

Posted .Hi MichaelB.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We understand the importance of a seamless setup process so that you can begin using your Ring Chime right away. Being able to rely on the alerts to know when someone is at your door or a motion is detected is an essential feature of the Ring Chime. We want to work with you to make sure we get your device working as intended. We are confident we can resolve this together today.
It sounds like you have some concerns regarding the setup of your Ring Chime. If you're receiving a 'Setup did not complete' message and cannot finish setup, there may be a couple of different causes. Your Ring Chime may be too far from your wifi router. Ideally, your router should be within 20 feet of your Ring device. You can try moving the Ring Chime closer to your router to complete the setup.
Once you've moved your device closer to your router, attempt setup again. During the setup, the temporary wifi network called "Ring-" will be broadcast by your device. If you're having trouble finding this network, you should restart the setup procedure. When you get to this step, look for a slowly pulsing light on your device. This means the device is broadcast over the network. Now, try the setup process again. If you don't see this light, you may have a malfunctioning unit.

Thank you for taking a moment to leave your review on the Ring Chime. At Ring, we believe that stronger communities are the key to safer neighborhoods. That is why we are driven to create products that help you protect what matters most at home and empower you to connect with your visitors from wherever you are. We are saddened to read that this device did not meet your expectations, but we are still here to assist you if needed.
The product that you reviewed is the Ring Chime. The Ring Chime plugs into an outlet and allows you to be able to hear alerts from your Ring devices at home. The Ring Chime does not act as a wifi extender. The Ring Chime Pro provides alerts but acts a wifi extender, as well.
If you still have the Ring Chime in your possession, we invite you to reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their personal feedback and experiences with Ring. We look forward to hearing from you. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

Posted .Hi Kevin.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. At Ring, we understand it is essential to have your Ring Chime online and working properly so you can keep your home secure. Being able to rely on the alerts to know when activity is detected is an essential feature of the Ring Chime. We are eager to address the issue you raised in your review and provide you with a resolution today.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Ring Chime (2nd Generation) is an updated version of the classic Ring Chime. Simply plug it in to a power outlet, set it up in the Ring app, and you'll be able to hear alerts from your Ring devices at home. We recommend setting up your Ring device (video doorbell or security camera) first, then setting up the Ring Chime. After the device and the Chime are active and on the wifi network, use the Ring app to associate the Ring Chime with the Ring device. Ring Chime connects to 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz wifi and can be paired to any number of Ring devices. You can also pair multiple Ring Chime units to one Ring video doorbell or security camera. Once connected, your Ring Chime will work anywhere it has a wifi connection.
If your Ring Chime is not connecting to your network, we recommend that you reset the device by pressing and holding the rest button on the side of the device for 20 seconds. Follow the steps in the Ring app to connect the device to your network. We have included those steps here:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (≡).
Tap "Devices" and select the doorbell or camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi.
Tap the "Device Health" tile.
Under "Network," tap "Change Network" and follow the prompts in the app.
Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in "Device Health" to confirm it has successfully reconnected.
We invite you to reach out to our community if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Chime. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other.
Thank you,
Amilia from Ring.

Dissapointment
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We moved to an apartment. My wife wanted a doorbell. I wanted to record deliveries. It was neither. You have to buy an additional device for it to ring inside the house. I can't record deliveries with a monthly subscription.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. Being able to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device is a valuable feature of the Ring Protect Plan. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concerns mentioned in your review.
It sounds like there was some confusion regarding the optional Ring Protect Plans and the different ways you can be notified of visitors. The Ring Protect Plan is a subscription that gives you access to paid features for your Ring device. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account.
Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.
In addition to being notified on your compatible mobile device, you can also receive notifications using a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa-enabled device. Depending on which Ring Video Doorbell you have, you may also be able to hardwire it to an existing doorbell system to ring your home's existing chime kit.
Visit our support center if any additional information is needed.
