I’m in my mid forties and am not very active. This is surprisingly fun and going at a high enough level you can work up a good sweat. For some, this may be the only exercise they do. If that’s the case this is good in that regard. It’s never too much for an average person.

This game is amazing. Nintendo has done it again, they've found a fun way to combine gaming and being active. My kids absolutely love it! A great way to let them burn off excess energy especially during the winter months, I played for around 20 minutes and was wiped out.

This game is really fun for the whole family. You can only play one at a time but it is fun to take turns and see if you can beat each other's score. It really is a workout!

Better than any of the Wii Fit games

I'm not someone who puts a lot of stock into body building or anything like that, but instead I wanted something that I could do in my spare time while I was at home without having to pay for a gym membership or pay for lessons with a trainer. For my purpose, this product is excellent. For starters, I was worried it was going to be boring like most of the Wii Fit games were, and while the game is very basic in it's core gameplay and the story isn't anything grand I found myself enjoying Ring Fit Adventure. Perhaps it's because I enjoy playing actin/adventure games as well as RPGs, or maybe it's because I'm one of those types of people that "gamifies" everything in life, meaning I try to live my life as if I were playing a video game. Let me elaborte a bit on that last part. Excercising is very important, but also difficult if you don't actually know what you're doing, and even if you do know what you're doing it can still feel like a chore. The game explains to you what each activity you are doing does for you in real life, and makes it easy to get a really productive workout in. That's fine on it's own, but for me the real reward is completing levels, defeating enemies, and doing boss battles. I'm not a full completionist in video games, but if I see a path that I missed or maybe see a platform that I wasn't able to get to on my first run through a level then I will try the level again to see if I can do better. I've been doing this even in Ring Fit Adventure, which means I'm working out even more than I would have originally and getting into better shape while doing it. I recommend this for people who like to gamify their life, or want a workout tool designed for them. There are multiple difficulties, and they are based on data collected from you during the initial set up of the game and hardware. It'll ask you to perform different actions so that it can gauge your personal fitness level. After that you can select the game difficulty. Hard is almost unbeatable, so maybe don't sweat that and go for something a little bit easier for your first playthrough. There is a LOT of jogging in place, so be mindful of your surroundings, and one thing I wish I'd known is that the game also has you performing exercises on the floor, so make sure to give yourself a lot of space to move around in. I knew there would be jogging but wasn't aware of how extensive the other exercises were.

Fun game and good work out. Lot's of different activities and absolutely forces you to get your sweat on. The ring itself is fun to use and certain games will cause you to get sore the next day. Easy and cheap way to get a good work out.

I wasn’t expecting it to be this much of a workout. I didn’t realize I was so out of shape but maaaaaan does this work up a sweat. It’s too much fun at times because my body can’t keep up with my urge to play. I’m hoping it does.

This game is awesome for anyone who wants to start being active but doesn’t have the motivation to go full force at the gym. This eases you into getting active but is fun at the same time. It is definitely a workout and you can feel it afterwards. Love it! Also fun for kids.

A very awesome little workout session and it’s great to do with my wow. She likes it. Admittedly, we have not used it consistently. But that’s not the games fault. The game is great, we can just be lazy sometimes.....a lot of times.

Fun and addicting. A great way to exercise and having fun doing it. Now that gyms are closed, it is an easy alternative to work on Core exercises. It has been back ordered for months, so it was highly anticipated gift for my kids. Would highly recommend.

My son originally thought this was lame when I showed him the trailer for this but as soon as he started setting it up he quickly realized this was not your run of the mill Switch game. Before he knew it, he was sweating bullets and having the time of his life! I was surprised as to how fun and interactive they were able to make a fitness-oriented game without making it feel like one. My son loved squeezing and pulling on the ring, and I was initially apprehensive about it breaking but after seeing him go wild on this thing I realized this was built to last. I tried a few of the min-games myself and immediately got immersed but my son was too addicted at that point to let me have all the fun. If you're looking to get a decent workout without leaving the comfort of your own home, I would enthusiastically recommend snatching this rare gem up whenever it goes on sale!!

I only played for 10 mins and was sweating, but in a good way. The game really makes it fun to move without it feeling like just a workout. Would’ve loved it to be two players but me and my wife just take turns when we get tired. Highly recommended

Pretty fun game to get you moving! Will take some coordination to get the highest scores using the different moves (I just don't like wall sits). Overall recommend for someone wanting to start back working out while having fun.

    The Lazy Gamer's Gym

I'll be honest, I was skeptical in the beginning. But, after a couple weeks that skepticism has turned into reserved optimism. What's great about the game is if you are not that into working out, but needed some inspiration to burn those extra calories, it is perfect! However, there are certain things that I need to forewarn you about. The most important of which is technique. Since the game is dependent on placement of the joy cons (one strapped to your thigh, the other attached to the ring), there is only so much information it can pick up. Thus, due to the large margin of error, it isn't hard to play the game. To make sure you do not injure yourself and you get the most out of the game, however, depends on your technique. Other than that, the only other concern I have is the wear and tear on the Ring Fit device itself. How long will the resistance last, and how does that effect long term gameplay?

This game is the perfect way to gamify fitness. Often they try to put fitness at the forefront. It's more important to make the game fun, in order to get you to do the fitness part. Fun game, that makes you want to play and fitness is the side benefit,

Love this so fun to work out ! You can get caught up in the game and not even realize the activity you are putting in. Band fits good even with my big thighs. It has a long velco that can be adjusted all the way to the end!

Forever Changed My Life, But Be Warned!

Let me start by saying I'm physically fit. I'm 45, run an average of 15-20 miles a week, do some light weightlifting three times a week, and walk 2 miles with my wife 3-4 times a week. The RingFit changed my life forever. First night I brought this home, I set it up on the 100" projector screen (worth it) and "played" through the intro and the adventure game for about 30 minutes. The workout wasn't too bad and I could tell it's possible to get a decent workout from it if you give it an honest effort. I especially like how they give you a detailed rundown of your workout so you can compare and try improving with each use. As I think most people would, I enjoyed using it, the price is on point with what you get (as long as you can find it on the shelf and not overpriced on eBay or Facebook marketplace), and see the fitness benefit it would bring most people. I would use it regularly if not for the rest of this review... My wife used it the next day. She was enjoying it and got so carried away with playing the levels, she didn't realize how extensive her workout was or the fact she played it for over two hours straight. Yes, she could feel the workout but didn't consider just how much she was putting her body through until it was, regrettably, too late. This is where my life changed forever. In the morning, she could barely get out of bed. Figuring it wouldn't be too bad once she got moving, she carefully roll out of bed and hit the floor with a loud thump. Then came the walk down the stairs. Being a guy, I've never gone through childbirth so I can only gauge by what she tells me and how hard she grabbed my hand. According to her, it was "more excruciating than child birth." According to my crushed hand, I believed her (can we all say "emergency room visit?"). I was torn between being a loving and caring husband who wanted to help her through this and being too scared to be in the same room. She spent the next couple hours yelling and swearing at the RingFit sitting in the living room. She said things I never imagined my sweet loving wife saying. The same woman who scolds our children for say anything out of line was spewing forth such unladylike obscenities, it would make a drunken sailor blush. In a public forum, I wouldn't/couldn't repeat the curses she put on the people that would both knowingly create such an ungodly device and for unleashing it on the world. If they read this and anything bad happens to them (or anyone they know), please forgive my wife. She was so frustrated and sore, she made me disconnect not only the RingFit but the entire switch and move it to another room. I was convinced it was never going to see the light of day again in our home again. We typically share the responsibilities of household chores but after "suckering" her into playing it so long (I wasn't even home!), my "stupidity" for buying it in the first place, and due to her inability to move most parts of her body, everything became my chore. She even made up things for me to do. She was bound and determined to make me as pained as she was. The next day... it was reconnected and she was playing it (though with some struggle) when I got home from work. Dear God, Please help me! This thing has ruined my life! My recommendation is, if you're a married man, don't purchase if you're not prepared to suffer the inevitable consequences. You've been warned.

Lots of fun and very engaging. Initially I doubted how intense it would be but by the end I needed a water break. Good way to get moving if you dont feel comfortable heading to the gym in stretchy pants. This should help my 2020 resolutions come to fruition.

A lot of fun and actually gets me to break a sweat. I was doing HIIT workouts at home during quarantine but honestly I felt like this would make me sweat more. Normally could get my heart rate up to 160/170 with the right difficulty set.
