Price was very reasonable (on sale) for the functionality. I love how these camera's integrate into the Ring eco-system and app.

I tried & turns out it was a faulty unit. I called ring customer service & the helped me with the return & a replacement unit came within 4 days. The replacement works perfectly & Im thankful for a good return experience cause they can get sketchy. All in all Ring has a great product & keeping an eye on my pooch will be worth the small issue.

It sounds like you are concerned with the need for the Ring Home Plan subscription. The Ring Home Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. Without a Ring Home Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.
Two-way talk allows you to speak with visitors through your Ring device during Live View. By default, your device will play incoming sounds, and your microphone will be muted when Live View is activated. You can tap the microphone button to speak with visitors. Tap it again to mute yourself. You can also tap the speaker button to control incoming audio from your Ring device.
