The Ring Indoor Cam (1st Gen.) is a small, lightweight security camera with flexible mounting options specifically designed to be used indoors. It features 1080p HD video recording, two-way audio with noise cancellation, color night vision, and a built-in siren.

It only records motion and you have to pay an extra fee of about $2-$3 a month to access the recordings. You can access the live view for free at any time though. I originally bought this as a baby monitor but eventually put it by my window as a security camera. Works fine but obviously can’t record through glass at night due to glare. Not bad if you are using it as a home security camera and you just want to check in through the live feed through out the day while you’re at work or something.

Based on your review, it seems like you have some concerns regarding our Ring Protect Plan. Ring gives customers a complimentary 30-day trial with each new Ring device. After the 30-days, you can choose if you would like to purchase a Ring Protect Plan or not. A Ring Protect Plan is not necessary to view real-time notifications on your Ring cameras. Without the Ring Protect Plan, you can still use the live view and two-way audio features. You are still able to see who is at your door and answer motion notifications. In order to see past recorded videos from your ring device, you will need the optional Ring Protect Plan, which starts at $3/month per device or $30/year per device.
