We know how important it is to be able to see and speak to the person that is near your device. The Indoor Cam is intended to provide you access to the camera for your peace of mind. Here at Ring, we take your security and peace of mind seriously. Please know that we are here to ensure that we can find a resolution together.
If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality during a live view, but your recordings are fine, this can be caused by either a poor connection between your mobile device and the cloud servers, or a connectivity problem between the Ring device and your router. In rare cases, however, this can be caused by settings in your router.
One of the most important measurements in your Ring security network is the strength of your wifi signal. You may run a special connectivity test at any time to see if a bad wifi connection is responsible for problems with your device. We have included step by step instructions below:
-Open Ring app
-Hamburger Menu/ 3 Lines
-Select Devices -Select a Ring device
-Select Device Health
-Select "Test your Wifi" under the Tools Section
-Tap "Start test
-Once the test is done, Enter your Results from the Speed test Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection is not as strong at the location of the Ring device.

I currently have several devices in my window to monitor activity outside, but you can’t see anything outside at night because the street lights overpower the view outside. I wouldn’t recommend this particular RING device for this purpose. The device itself is easy to setup and works great on the inside of the house and out, but not good for night views.
