Good camera, but no geo-fencing

Ring will send a cam cover to help with privacy issues caused by this, but a software package with geo-fencing would be a lot better!

We found it to be the white version. Best Buy refused to exchange it. It was their mistake. Video quality is overall good. There is some glitches at times. Sound is very bad and you can not understand anyone on both directions. We mostly used this to monitor the dog. But it should be a clear speaker and it is not. Nor is the microphone.

Noticeable noise from auto focus

The features and technology provided by the Ring Indoor Cam (1st Gen.) are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure that your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the concern you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to audio. If the microphone is too close to the speaker, it can pick up the sound directly from the speaker, causing it to echo. Try positioning the camera further away from where people usually talk to help minimize the echo. Poor wifi can also cause Ring device issues, including capturing audio. We recommend following these steps in the Ring app: Tap the top menu (☰), then Devices. Choose your Ring Floodlight Cam. Tap "Device Health." Under the "Network" section, you'll see your device's "Signal Strength." If your "Signal Strength" (RSSI) is amber or red, your Ring device likely has a poor connection to your location's wifi. Moving your Wi-Fi router closer to your Ring device may improve its connection. If your Wi-Fi connection is strong and you're still experiencing audio issues, reboot your Ring camera by following these steps: Open the Ring app. Tap the top menu (☰), then "Devices." Choose your Ring device. Tap the "Device Settings" tile. Tap "Device Health." Scroll down and tap "Reboot This Device." Wait a few minutes for your device to reboot.

Indoor vs outdoor camera

Does not work well in dark

We can understand the importance of the video displaying correctly. We do appreciate that you have placed value in owning a Ring product for your home security.
Certain models of Ring devices have a night vision feature that allows you to see through the camera in low light conditions. By using infrared light, the camera can create a black and white image that is then beamed to the Live View in your app. By turning the color night vision feature on, the camera will use whatever ambient light is available to try and create a "false color" image in your Live View. This lets you get a better sense of what's happening in the image by creating a false sense of color depth.

As we continue to work hard to reduce crimes in neighborhoods, Ring strives to improve our products to be compatible with all environments and provide a great overall experience.Ring's hardwired devices do time out after 10 minutes of live-streaming, so they can reset and begin capturing the next motion video immediately after. Also, Ring has implemented a feature in your video recordings called "Motion Stop". This feature automatically stops the recording after a Ring device stops detecting motion. The devices stop after 20 seconds for battery-operated devices even if physically installed as hardwired, and 60 seconds for hardwired devices without a battery option. This saves on battery life and data charges.

After reading your review, it seems that your indoor camera is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. For optimal performance, since your router and modem are usually the hardest-working devices in your house, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.

great but....

Just not very good.

It also does not come with a way to mount on the wall and also see the entire room. The mount that is included is fine for ceilings, but if you mount it on the wall you can't see half of the room. Waste of money. We will be returning this tomorrow.

A few of the most common fixes are to move a WiFi access point closer to your Camera or to reboot your Camera. If your Indoor Camera is offline, you may need to improve the wifi connection that it's receiving. With a strong wifi connection in place, your Indoor Camera shouldn't disconnect from the wifi as often.
