I bought this to monitor pets when we are away from home. Then shortly after purchase a news article came out about these cams being hacked. I did some research after this and didn't like what I found. The makers of this cam came out with a response which pretty much put the security flaw upon the user. Im not one to share passwords and such. The company's response to negative reports was the icing on the cake so I promptly returned product.

      Hello JustAGamer99,

We appreciate you bringing your Ring Indoor camera experience to our attention. The Indoor Cam is a smaller next-generation security camera specifically designed to be used indoors to bolster the security around your home. This device also features 1080p full HD resolution, two-way audio, HD video recording, and a wide viewing angle. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.

Based on your review, it seems that you are not fully satisfied with your Ring Indoor Camera. The Ring Indoor Camera uses infrared motion capturing to detect motion within its field of view. You can use the Ring app to determine the Ring Indoor Camera motion detection range and the specific zones where motion will trigger a smart alert. These settings help ensure that the Ring Indoor Camera will capture the events you want to see and ignore the ones you don’t. Here is a helpful article with more information on how to resolve motion concerns with your device: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022462472-Utilizing-Motion-Detection-with-your-Ring-Battery-Devices.

What a scam. If you purchase the subscription, it works pretty good. If you are out of subscription, with the motion settings set to minimal, it goes off incessantly. Call them, and they tell you to get on subscription. Find another competitor that works without subscription. I wouldn't wish this on my enemy.

      Hello Whitenake12a,

We can understand the importance of the video displaying correctly. The Indoor Cam is intended to provide you access to the camera for your peace of mind. Here at Ring, we take your security and peace of mind seriously. Please know that we are here to ensure that we can find a resolution together.

Certain models of Ring devices have a night vision feature that allows you to see through the camera in low light conditions. By using infrared light, the camera can create a black and white image that is then beamed to the Live View in your app. By turning the color night vision feature on, the camera will use whatever ambient light is available to try and create a "false color" image in your Live View. This lets you get a better sense of what's happening in the image by creating a false sense of color depth.

This article will answer commonly asked questions concerning color night vision and can help resolve this pressing matter: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038559351-Understanding-Color-Night-Vision-and-Troubleshooting-Night-Vision

Hi none. Getting too many motion alerts from your Indoor Cam can distract you during the day, but this can usually be helped by making some changes to your settings. Since everyone's home environment and preferences are different, you may need to play around with the motion settings available to figure out what works best for you. To get started, review the information in this Help Center article: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050360052-Customizing-Motion-Zones-for-Video-Doorbells-and-Security-Cameras. Hello Missash18,

We understand where you are coming from, as this isn't the experience we want our users to have. The Ring Indoor Cam is intended to be an easy-to-use device that powers on when plugged into an AC outlet. The included power cable will ensure your device has constant power without the need to charge it. Please know our team is here to help.

If your Ring Indoor cam will not power on, please ensure you try multiple power outlets to ensure the issue isn't related to the outlet. Your camera may take a moment or so to power on for the first time.

In very rare cases, you may need to perform a hard reset of your device. To do so, please ensure your device is plugged into a working outlet. Begin by holding down the set-up button for 15 consecutive seconds, then release. The device will commence its reset, and should complete within a moment or so.

After the reset, your camera's LED status light should illuminate, and will soon enter set-up mode. At this point, you can follow the in-app instructions to complete the set-up.

If this tip doesn't resolve your concern, we're confident that we can help turn your experience around. For any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/.

      All the best,

      Hi WR20,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Ring Indoor Security Camera.

We understand how important it is that your Ring device records events so that you can monitor and review any captured activity at your home. With a Ring Protect Plan, the Ring Indoor Security Camera is designed to capture and record events detected based on your personal settings. We would love to provide tips and tricks to ensure your device is set up for optimal performance in your home.

If you have an active Ring Protect Plan and are unable to access your recording when viewing live or recorded video in the Ring application, the problem may be related to settings in your router, firewall, or because of data loss. The easiest way to tell if your problem is related to your router's firewall is to connect your Ring device to another network and try to view a video. We recommend a mobile hotspot or a friend or family member’s network. For additional steps in diagnosing and resolving network settings that could block your video, please visit our help center:
