One of the ways Ring devices keep you secure is through the concept of “ownership.” Ownership has a specific meaning and refers to the Ring account that was initially used to set up a device. It keeps your devices from being reset or reassigned in cases of theft and allows you to safely and securely transfer the physical control of a Ring device as the result of a sale, improperly processed retailer return, or a move.
If you purchased a Ring device from a retailer and cannot set up that device because it already has an owner, first try to get in contact with the seller or return it to the retailer. If those options don’t work you can contact Ring Customer support for help. In order to expedite the process, have your proof of purchase handy if available, and a picture of the MAC ID (barcode) on the device you are attempting to set up. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
After reading your review, it seems that your indoor camera is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. For optimal performance, since your router and modem are usually the hardest-working devices in your house, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.

If your device is unresponsive, please try a hard reset. This can help clear out many underlying issues with your device.
To begin, please ensure your device is connected to its power source. Hold down the set-up button for 15 seconds, then release. Your device will complete its reset within a minute or so. Once done, you'll be able to finish a new device set-up within the Ring app.
