We can definitely assist you with this today, and we are confident we can find the correct settings for your home’s environment.

It sounds like you have some concerns with the motion detection of your device. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.

Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts", please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for Person, Vehicle and Other Motion.

Tap Done to save new settings. Editing existing settings will save automatically.

While this specific model does not feature remote pan-and-tilt capabilities via the app, you can manually adjust the mounting bracket during installation to secure the best possible viewing angle for your space. Regarding your preference for a wire-free setup, we recommend considering the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery. It is completely wire-free, giving you much more flexibility in where you can place it. It sounds like you are experiencing issues with the device in regards to installation and connection. Indoor Cam (2nd Gen.) is a small, lightweight security camera with flexible mounting options specifically designed to be used indoors. Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen.) can be mounted anywhere indoors on its own stand or can be mounted to a wall or ceiling. We recommend that you follow these steps for wall and ceiling installation:
Slide down to unlock and remove the mounting plate.
Install the mounting plate.
Slide Indoor Cam onto mounting plate.
Adjust the camera angle.

A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.

Usually, devices falling offline repeatedly is related to poor WiFi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss. To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In edition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.

If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.

We recommend checking out our new Ring Pan-Tilt Stick Up Cam. Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam is Ring’s first-ever integrated pan-tilt camera. Thanks to its integrated, motorized pan-tilt base, you can pan 360° around your home or business and tilt up and down for a complete view of your camera’s surroundings.
