The packaging was very good along with the installation instructions. I was a bit concerned about battery life but it turned out to be quite good. Because of my mounting location (higher up) I did decide later to go back and purchase the solar panel for recharging. I am glad I did! The solar panel was easy to install and now I don't have to use a ladder to retrieve the battery when recharging.

The battery lasts long and installation is easy. The app works magnificent. Sometimes I do have issues with the microphone, but I don't really use it.

It does not cover a great range of motion. You can zoom in and look at surrounding areas, but it doesn't always active in the set of the arrange of motion. I feel like it's more for monitoring and not as great for security. I like it comes in black and white.

It sounds like your Ring Outdoor Cam is not performing as expected. We would love the opportunity to share with you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to get your Ring Outdoor Cam functioning as intended. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done.

Great Ring Stick Camera

Didn't have any Ring products and this is my first. I am impressed how well it works outside. I have 2 around my house and can see who is coming up my drive way and at the front door.

I have it outside by my barbecue looking out I see my gardeners I see the garbage bin come in on the side of my house and I see my full area so I can watch my pool guy and how long they stay there and cleaning and my fountains , they make me feel safe that’ll ring if someone’s on my property when I’m home there is nothing like the ring and all their products. I have their alarm system and it talks to people when they come up to my doorbell. Tell them to leave my package on the side and out of view. Truly, the ring is the best.

The high-quality video resolution ensures crystal clear footage, while the wireless capabilities make installation quick and easy. The motion detection feature is highly responsive and the two-way audio communication adds an extra layer of security. Overall, the Ring 1080p wireless stick up camera is a top-notch option for peace of mind and surveillance in and around your home. There is also a wired version, which I hear is another great option, but I personally have not yet tried. Definitely would recommend this one if you are looking for a good compact size security camera:)

Don't indoor outdoor video camera

Video quality and audio are clear both day and night

Great resolution and battery lifespan

Never imagined it would last so long. I switched from Xfinity home security to this and this camera is almost as accurate when catching everything but will rarely miss me coming to the door which doesn’t concerns me that much. it saves me 40 bucks a month and it’s resolution is better than Xfinity’s and a lot more clear.

One is mounted about my back door, one is mounted inside the house. Both were easy to install and connect to the application. Both have been running for 22+ days - and both still have more that 70% of battery charge left. I'm happy with the purchase.

I did buy the ceiling mount which is an extra $20.00. The video display is very good. I also got the solar panel to accompany the Ring Stick Up Outdoor Wire Free Security camera. I think it is a good investment. I have it set on my side gate and it does pick up a person and not my dogs so that's good. They hang out in back of the gate a lot. I also have the Ring doorbell which I really like as well.

Checking "live" mode through the mobile app is easy to do and the microphones enable for 2 way communication. The mics are good, not great, but gets the job done. So far the battery life seems to be holding up nicely. We don't have it mounted, we have it sitting on a shelf. The stand it comes with is nice and holds balance well.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having a consistent wifi signal on the Ring Outdoor Cam(Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam). Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.
It sounds like you experienced some connection issues with the device. Usually, devices falling offline repeatedly is related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In edition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.
We also recommend adding a Ring Chime Pro to your network. The Ring Chime Pro simply plugs into a wall outlet between your router and the Ring Outdoor Cam to assist with the wifi signal strength to the device.

Awesome ring camera i have ever brought!!!
