It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. For optimal performance of the Ring device in low light settings, we recommend using the night vision feature. To turn the "Color Night Vision" on or off, follow these instructions:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the "Menu" (☰).
Tap "Devices."
Select the device you want to adjust.
Tap "Device Settings."
Tap "Video Settings."
Toggle "Color Night Vision" on or off.

Although rare, there have been instances where a Ring device can experience black, pink, and other distorted video quality, like night vision video captured during daytime hours. Here are a few things to try.

Check your Ring device's signal strength.
If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection or video issues.
Open the Ring app.
Tap the "Menu" (☰).
Tap "Devices."
Select the Ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the "Device Health" tile.
Scroll to "Signal Strength" under the "Network" section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.

Reboot your Ring Outdoor Cam in the Ring app.

Open the Ring app.
Tap the "Menu" (☰).
Tap "Devices."
Select the device that you wish to reboot.
Tap on the "Device Health" tile.
Scroll down to "Reboot This Device."
Give your device a few moments to start back up.

While our Ring Stick Up Cam has fixed viewing angle, our Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In with Pan-Tilt does offer pan and tilt feature for a wider viewing angle. Go from a stationary 130° field of view to 360° pan coverage and 117° of tilt for a more complete view of your surroundings.

The features and technology provided by the Ring Outdoor Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. When installing the Ring Outdoor Cam on a wall, the base of the Ring Outdoor Cam will need to be removed and re-attached to the back of the device to mount it to a wall. Here are the steps to installing the Ring Outdoor Cam to a wall:

1. Remove the base of the Ring Outdoor Cam by unscrewing it using a standard Phillips-head screwdriver (not included).
2. Re-attach the base to the back of your Ring Outdoor Cam with the "UP" arrow on the bracket pointing upward.
3. Remove the mounting bracket by sliding it down to remove it from the base.
4. Hold the bracket against your wall, making sure the "UP" arrow is pointing upward, and mount it with the included screws.
5. Mount your Cam by guiding the grooves on the base on the hooks on the bracket. Slide Ring Outdoor Cam down to secure it to the wall.
