We understand how critical it is for your Ring Stick Up Cam to capture all meaningful motion events so that you can keep an eye out for any activity around your property. Consistent and dependable motion alerts are an essential feature for the Ring Stick Up Cam. We would love to work with you to ensure your device is performing optimally in your home's environment.

It sounds like you have some concerns with the motion detection of your device. The Ring Stick Up Cam can be mounted anywhere indoors or out, but works best when approximately five to seven feet off the ground. It offers advanced motion detection with customizable motion zones. For some battery-powered Ring devices, you need to turn Advanced Motion Detection on to use customizable camera motion zones and more accurate motion detection. Follow these steps to ensure this feature is enabled:

Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Tap your device.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Tap Advanced Motion Detection.
Toggle the switch on.

We are happy to provide you with more information on how to improve the motion detection of your Ring Stick Up Cam. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."

The features and technology provided by the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to work with you to make sure we get your device working as intended. We are confident we can resolve this together today.

It sounds like your device is not responsive. You may need to reset your device. To do this, hold down the reset button for 20 seconds. Before you reset your device, make sure to download any videos in your account. After reset, wait one to two minutes, then attempt setup again in the Ring app.

Things to double-check:

You enter the correct password for your wifi network. Passwords are case-sensitive.
You’re not too far away from your wifi router.
Your internet service is not down.
