I would recommend this to a friendAll good except the battery won’t hold a charge.

When I did this week, I charged the battery as directed, overnight actually. The light on the battery was green, but as soon as it was installed, I received a message saying low battery. I took the battery back out and charged it again, but the same thing happened when it installed again. Now I have to buy a new battery for $30. Not happy about that. I have other Ring cameras so I’m sure I’ll be happy with the camera when I get my new battery.

Having longevity in a battery-powered security device is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not operating as intended with regards to battery life. We recommend pressing and holding the reset button on the camera for 20 seconds. The device will take about 60 seconds to power cycle and fully reset. If you still have possession of the device, we recommend that you contact our Ring Customer Support at 1-800-656-1918. Agents are available 24/7 to assist you.

We added it to the external portion of our home to capture video of our garage and side yard area. This was in addition to our other ring cameras we have around our house.
