In pursuit of our mission to make neighborhoods safer, when applying technologies to our business, we always consider our three pillars of customer security, privacy, and user control. We understand how important it is to have your devices working as intended, as it offers a level of security in your home. After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Stickup Camera is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest-working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below: Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off). If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them. Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in. Wait for your internet to be restored. Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Stickup Camera picking up the correct motion. The Stick Up Cam uses infrared motion capturing to detect motion, within its field of view. You can use the Ring app to determine the Stick Up Cam’s motion detection range and the specific zones where motion will trigger a smart alert. These settings help ensure that the Stick Up Cam will capture the events you want to see and ignore the ones you don’t. We understand the importance of having a solid charge on your Ring Stick Up Cam so that you are able to have a longer time between charge cycles. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your rev

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal battery-life performance. The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.

To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can:

Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity.
Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones."
Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.

To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:

Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check.
Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage."
Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length.".

As cold weather sets in, lithium-ion batteries like those used in Ring Doorbells and Security Cameras may experience several issues, including trouble holding a charge, running out of power faster than normal, or losing functionality. Knowing at what temperature batteries will start to be impacted can help you take the necessary steps to keep your device working. When the temperature drops to:

36°F (3°C): The battery may not hold a charge as effectively, resulting in having to charge the unit more frequently.
32°F (0°C): The battery may not charge at all. Even hardwired configurations may not charge the battery.
-5°F (-20.5°C): The battery may stop working completely until temperatures warm up.

When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges.

The Ring Stick Up Cam Battery is designed to be a DIY home security solution that can be trusted to provide you with lasting service. While Ring batteries can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment. It is imperative to have peace of mind when it comes to your home security and the battery life in your Ring camera plays a big role in that.

Battery life is heavily dependent on frequency of use, therefore, please consider the following. If you have located your device in a high traffic area, please ensure the motion settings accurately reflect your needs. For example, you could reduce the size of the motion zone to pick unnecessary movement and thus save battery life. If your needs require maximum performance, consider using a Ring Solar or Super Solar Panel. These can help trickle charge the battery and extend the time between manual recharges.

Additionally, the battery life may be affected by poor signal strength. If you've noticed wifi issues, such as poor video quality or trouble connecting to live video, a wifi extender such as the Ring Chime Pro may improve the signal getting to your camera. A cost-effective alternative would be to relocate your router (or camera) in an area that has less interference, even a couple feet can make a big difference.

Being able to connect to your devices, in the moment, is an important feature to be working properly for you! The free Rapid Ring app, developed by Ring, is a companion to the original Ring app that allows for a faster response to notifications or to enable a Live View faster. You can use the Ring app and Rapid Ring app in conjunction with one another and don't have to worry about interference with your devices. You can download the free Rapid Ring app at the App store (iOS - Apple) or Google Play Store (Android) and use the same email address and password that you use for your regular Ring app. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring app with most of the features stripped out except for the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app in conjunction with the original Ring app, you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible. If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality during a live view, but your recordings are fine. This can be caused by either a poor connection between your mobile device and the cloud, or a connectivity problem between the Ring device and your Router. If you are experiencing poor video or audio quality when viewing both the live and recorded video in the Ring application, the problem is almost always some sort of wifi issue like signal or data loss. In rare cases, however, this can be caused by settings in your router. We understand how important it is to have your Ring Outdoor Cam (Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam) capture all the correct motion events. The Ring Outdoor Cam was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to adjusting the motion zone. The dots for the Motion Zones can be small and difficult to maneuver. A great option is to use a tablet to adjust these settings. Tablets like an iPad are much bigger than a smartphone screen and can be easier for making small adjustments. It's best to avoid overlapping motion zones as it may be difficult to edit specific points on overlapping.
