Just be aware they require some real creativity to turn 'off', which is really an issue with Ring in general and not the camera specifically. But there is no on/off toggle in the app. You have to either disable all motion and live view settings and tie it to a mode to toggle it with a tap or just go pull the battery out of it. So if you're installing them in a place that you don't necessarily want monitored 24/7 (like indoors), probably get the plug in one so you can just pull the plug when you want it turned off.

It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. For temporary deactivation, we recommend using Device Modes, which allow you to set your Ring Outdoor Cam (Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam) to Home or Away Mode and customize when they record, and more. Depending on how long you plan to not use the device, you could remove the device from your Ring account or disconnect it from Wi-Fi, but keep in mind that you'll need to set it up again afterward, and downloading any important recordings first is recommended.

Great adaptable camera

We were having a rash of MV thefts / burglary incidents in town and nearby. Put this in the car interior for a few weeks. Same technique as some law enforcement use. It was in addition to our regular cameras! (The camera and car may be stolen but I would still have a remote video recording of the bad guy!) Battery has a decent life! Will add this when we are away from home as another view if exterior cams & alarms are somehow defeated. Crime prevention / system redundancy in depth!!!!
