We have doorbell, spotlight cams, one of these for indoors and one for outdoors. Bought this to put out by our sons playset and our above ground pool. We have a wooded lot next door and a family of raccoons that like to come jump up on our pool and walk through our yard at night so we wanted to keep an eye on what they did. Works well!

My battery stays at a 100% at all times. I love the picture clarity. No paid subscription required unlike other brands such as blink and myQ (PROS). Camera does not show in dark areas (Cons). A light shining down over it will fix this with no problem (Solution). You can also spend around $50 more and buy the rugby spotlight.

Paid a yearly subscription that gives you ability to record and save. I believe these are a better option than a security company because you see immediately and you call for police faster than having a security company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having a consistent wifi signal on the Ring Outdoor Cam(Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam). Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.
It sounds like you experienced some connection issues with the device. Usually, devices falling offline repeatedly is related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In edition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.
We also recommend adding a Ring Chime Pro to your network. The Ring Chime Pro simply plugs into a wall outlet between your router and the Ring Outdoor Cam to assist with the wifi signal strength to the device.

Easy to use with my Alexa system and Ring app. I have several all over and I don't know how I lived without them!! Easy to install, I look forward to improvements to these cameras but for now I'm very pleased with their functions.

I had purchased the doorbell camera after several recommendations and had that for a few months before deciding to pick this one up for the back door. Installation was easy and adding it to my app was painless. I know feel safe and secure in my own home.

Clear Picture - WiFi Connecting Needs Improvement

They work fairly well except when you lose power or the internet goes out. Then it could take up to 24 hours for the cameras to reconnect on their own to my WiFi. I have forced them to connect by holding the reset button for 30 seconds, but that is a pain in the neck to reset 3 cameras and a door bell every time the internet goes out. So I just wait until the next day. Very inconvenient. I have a great WiFi signal to all of my cameras so that is not the issue. Whenever you try to get help from Ring, they always blame it on your WiFi which is not the case.

Great for DIY installers

It's easy to install and set up and within my budget. What I like most is that I can monitor my phone, my echo devices, and through Alexa via my phone or TV. So where it may not work for some critics it works for me. The clarity is good not perfect but good. All in all, you will be able to monitor your surroundings.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is my first experience with Ring, I purchased a plug in type and also a battery type, really easy to set up ( I am technology compromised, I am 75, lol ) I still have to see how long the battery will last without charging, it did take about 8 hours to fully charge, so far, so good, I still have to decide if will subscribe to recording.
