I bought two of these for my home to go alone with my ring doorbell pro. I would recommend also purchasing the solar charger for it cause climbing on a ladder to charge the battery every time can be a pain, especially if you have bad knees! Also porch lights will give the image a glare making it harder to see so you have to make sure you place it far enough away from those. Other than that the picture will be very clear, the app is so so. Sometimes it takes a minute to connect and we’ve had to reconnect it more then once. Easy to install

It sounds like you are experiencing some installation issue with the device. The Ring Outdoor Cam (Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam) can be mounted on the ceiling or a wall using the Ring Mount for Stick Up Cam which is sold separately. This allows you to adjust the angle for optimal motion detection and field of view. It also comes with a spare parts kit so you can set everything up in just a few minutes.

THE PICTURE IS GREAT EITHER DAY OR NIGHT. I ALSO PURCHASED THE EXTRA BATTERY SO I CAN JUST TAKE IT DOWN AND PUT IN THE NEW BATTERY AND PUT THE CAMERA RIGHT BACK UP. IT WAS VERY EASY TO INSTALL NOT HAVING ANY WIRES TO BOTHER WITH. IT ALSO ALLOWS ME TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR MY NEIBORS HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET WHEN THEY ARE OUT OF TOWN.
