I have 3 other Ring stick up cams and they all work for what i need. I like the black cameras because they blend in better with a background and become invisible. My Ring cams have recorded several individuals attempting to break into my cars and steal items from my yard. I would recommend this cam to anyone interested in keeping an eye on their property. You may need several to get complete coverage but I have never had a problem with connectivity to my wifi system. Easy to install as is or maybe you might need one of several products available to make it easier to put it where you want it. I have solar panels and extra batteries for the cold winter months. Overall a good choice for a simple and easy security device.

Easy to install and download App. Also, alerts are timely and show people in the field of vision. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars, batteries take a long time to recharge.

Ring recommends you not do that since the device can’t detect motion from inside a window. Oh, and if you want to store your videos on the cloud you’ll have to pay a monthly subscription fee. Make an informed choice before buying.

It has a great picture quality and range. However. you must subscribe to a Ring account to save videos.

Waste of money

Unfortunately, I was unaware that these needed to be wired to be able to have access to that feature and I can’t wire them on my front porch. Also, I put them in the exact spots that my blink cameras were in and the one on my back deck says the connection could be improved. How is it possible that my blink cameras had zero problem with the connection and these ones do being in the same spot? And, they did not detect any motion at all. I had the settings set to frequently detect motion. It wouldn’t even detect my golden retriever on my back deck right in front of the camera. Unfortunately I am returning these and just going to stick with my blink cameras that work much better until I can find exactly what I want.

Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.
It sounds like you experienced some connection issues with the device. Usually, devices falling offline repeatedly is related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In edition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.
We also recommend adding a Ring Chime Pro to your network. The Ring Chime Pro simply plugs into a wall outlet between your router and the Ring Stick Up Cam to assist with the wifi signal strength to the device.

Great Device But Poor Battery Life

The battery life is much shorter than I expected and I’m now looking at other options. The camera is in front of my house so perhaps the battery life is better in an area with less traffic (ex. cars in driveway and people coming to the house).

It’s very small, well constructed, and the camera quality is exceptional. Facial recognition Does best when the person is roughly 10 feet from the camera day or night.
