I would have liked one that was both battery and cable, but this on is just Battery. It is a good idea to buy an extra battery and keep it charged so that you can just switch out the battery.

I bought multiple cameras for indoors and outdoors, and they work amazing. Capture everything I need, quality is great, and the battery life is very long (full charge will last me ~2 months before needing to be recharged).

Used with the solar panel allows for maintenance free usage. The enhanced ring detection zones are customizable. Just wish they would include the ceiling mount rather than an optional purchase.

Ring recommends you not do that since the device can’t detect motion from inside a window. Oh, and if you want to store your videos on the cloud you’ll have to pay a monthly subscription fee. Make an informed choice before buying.

On moderate sensitivity battery last about 1 month and takes a half to full day to recharge would recommend having a second battery to have it charged and ready to replace or solar attachments.

It works great and it was very easy setup as well as installation. I enjoy it on the ring app. being able to view and communicate with others.

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the product design is nice and the image quality is acceptable, however the associated app results in this camera being basically unusable except for certain cases. Specifically there is a problem with defining areas within the cameras view to trigger motion alerts. Only the center of the cameras view could be used to define motion alerts. We purchased the camera to cover a driveway leading up to our garage and a walkway leading to the front door. Both areas of interest were well within the cameras view, but not directly centered. Thus the camera wouldn't pick up movement on either the driveway or the path. We contacted Ring support and were first given a nonsensical answer saying that if we just provided more power to the unit then it would work. The camera is supposed to be battery powered and wirelessly connected to our wifi network so needing to run a power cable to the camera defeated the purpose. We contacted Ring a second time and finally learn that they were aware of the issue but currently did not have plans to fix the software issue. We returned the Ring camera and bought a Blink camera system and had NONE of the problems we had with Ring. So if your area of interest is in the center of the camera's view this product will likely work fine for you. However, if you too have a little bit of an odd angled space you are trying to view this will not work well.
