They come with their own disadvantages since they're battery operated but the hardest part of the install was getting quality signal to the corners of the house. Pretty durable. Dropped one from a ladder which out a gash in the motion sensor and it still works! Wish they came with the ceiling mount hardware. Install took 10 min per camera but best buy is willing to cut you a sweet deal of 99 to install 2 cameras (remember these are battery operated/wireless). Don't miss out on this sweet install deal lol

I mean EVERYTHING. One time I had it on regular alerts and it didnt pick up this man that came in my house and that didnt sit well with me because what's the point of having security cameras when they don't pick up everything? But when i adjusted it, it started picking up everything but the battery drains so fast. I literally have to charge it once a week! Its so annoying!

Consistent and dependable motion alerts are an essential feature for the Ring Stick Up Cam to function properly. This is likely the reason you purchased this security device in the first place: to be alerted to people on your property. Rest assured, we are here today to provide you with some information in order to ensure you get the most out of your motion detection! We are confident we can find a solution that works well for you and your home’s environment.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."
You mentioned in your review that the device missed a person entering your home. Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. We recommend enabling these settings. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."
