Ring - Didn't disappoint!

I switched from Arlo Pro 2 (2018 model) and could not be happier! The good: - Crisp and clear picture - Almost zero lag between motion and playback The bad: - Subscription model In short, if you really want a good quality camera recording all the motion, this is the way to go.

The feed was accessible unless you paid for a ring subscription.

Great alternative when direct power not available

Rechargeable battery looks to be of high quality. After initial charge ( it’s been 3 weeks now) still going. Ring has been the perfect system and my buddy reluctant believer was amazed the connective security from his studio and able to control it from his phone at home. He is a believer now. Ring alarm is awesome. They are at Disney now and he loves checking things out in his new studio feeling secure via the Ring camera.

Just be aware they require some real creativity to turn 'off', which is really an issue with Ring in general and not the camera specifically. But there is no on/off toggle in the app. You have to either disable all motion and live view settings and tie it to a mode to toggle it with a tap or just go pull the battery out of it. So if you're installing them in a place that you don't necessarily want monitored 24/7 (like indoors), probably get the plug in one so you can just pull the plug when you want it turned off.

It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. For temporary deactivation, we recommend using Device Modes, which allow you to set your Ring Outdoor Cam (Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam) to Home or Away Mode and customize when they record, and more. Depending on how long you plan to not use the device, you could remove the device from your Ring account or disconnect it from Wi-Fi, but keep in mind that you'll need to set it up again afterward, and downloading any important recordings first is recommended.

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i use this for outside monitoring. the camera itself is actually quite good, although the app for it needs some improvement on the privacy zones. the privacy zones will not go all the way to the edge ( maybe its just my phone, dont know) and it will sometimes trigger a shadow that is just at the outside edge of the zone. but the camera is good. battery doesnt last as long as they say unless you turn all the settings like detection, nightlight , etc, all the way down. i added the solar panel to keep the charge up
